kick returners in fantasy (1 Viewer)

in deep leagues those players that double as kickoff returners gain a lot of value. sproles in my league has been a viable RB b/c of PPR and KOR scoring, with kickoffs moved up 5yards alot of such players take a huge hit. how much should yardage per pt be reduced to offset and give these players back there thunder? reduce the yards per pt 25/50%?

really nobody chimes in on this? this change along with the tackle standardization ruling are major concerns in fantasy. if nothing or no scoring amendments are made there will be a ton of unhappy fantasy owners out there when they see the widespread decrease in scoring.

You are specifically talking about really deep dynasty leagues. You won't get too much attention on that type of league as they are few and far between. But, I will comment on the topic you brought up.

In my most competitive league we do not award return yards, period. We award TD's scored by offensive starters who happen to be a kick/punt returner, but that player gets no yardage bonus' and no length-of-TD bonus'. He simply gets 6 points if he scores a TD (plus he has to have been started at an offensive position, ie: RB, WR, etc., that week.)

Sorry I couldn't have been more helpful. The scoring differential you are referring to will only affect a minimal number of leagues. Not necessarily main-stream leagues.

I play in a similar league and my first thought is if these players impact on the actual game is decreased by virtue of fewer attempts/yards then their impact in fantasy should be diminished as well.

I don't think I would adjust return yardage points simply to artificially inflate values. Less real life impact should theoretically mean less fantasy impact.

Love deep leagues that have this.. we use 15 yards per point on a kickoff return, reasoning is they usually go 10-15 yards before contact.... and .1 point per yard on punt returns.. DJax, CB's - in IDP leagues, that return punts and the few other players have quite a bit of added value to them and make it more interesting than non return yardage league...
