Killing Rampage near UC Santa Barbara (1 Viewer)

I'm reading "My Twisted World". I got through the first 70 pages and it's pretty sad. I brace myself for much darker stuff in the second half.
Would love the Cliff's. Can't see forcing myself to slog through it, but can't help feeling a morbid curiosity.
Actually, it is an interesting read.http://www.scribd.com/doc/225960813/Elliot-Rodger-Santa-Barbara-mass-shooting-suspect-My-Twisted-World-manifesto
Just skimming through, but he was incredibly delusional and has some thoughts on women that would have seemed barbaric even by caveman standards.

Seems like a clear case of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. We don't have all the facts, but it seems odd that he was being treated for ASD.

Media: Yes a shooting! if only it were someone famous. Oh he's the son of someone who directs movies? That's kind of famous. The problem is that's been done before... hmmmm school shootings are "in" did it take place at a school? No? But it was near a school? close enough

Son of Hunger Games Director carries out drive by shooting near UCSB
link to something that suggests even close to what you are say "the media" is doing?
COLLEGE TOWN MASS MURDER
Santa Barbara is known as a college town and there was a mass murder. What issue do you have with that headline?
Because it was a shooting in SB not a college. The college town is used to excite the morons like you. There was a drive by shooting the other day in detroit you won't hear about that because well you know black.Oh and it happened in isle vista? Whatever its not like the news uses facts any more and you seem fine with that so please carry on.
Before I catch up on this thread, I'm going to assume somebody explained to Dexter that Isla Vista IS UCSB... basically a big dorm for the university.

So a moron like me who had scores of friends go there (and spent many vacations there) sees "mass shooting at Isla vista" I know immediately that it's related to UCSB and yes... a college town. and fwiw, IV is a good drive from downtown Santa Barabara and has not much to do with it.

Yet another reason why the mental health system needs a severe overhaul. I read the transcript of this moron's last video, and it sounds like he hought he was better than he was. Calling himself a god? That's pretty egomaniacal, and signs of a serious problem. I have a pretty dim view of humanity in general (though I'm trying to change my perception), and I had trouble finding dates until I turned 20, but I never would have thought about doing what this creature did.

Why didnt he just go to an amp?

I was one of the first to bring the asperger's. I was not saying that it was the reason he murdered people. It was used to describe the way he was acting in the video (seemly over acting). It would've played a role in the lead up to the murders as well since it likely had a part to do with being outcast by girls.

It's clear by his final acts and his previous behaviour that he had some kind of mental illness. Regardless of what it's officially labeled as it was a contributing factor and I don't want to derail the wider conversation based off of me using the wrong word to describe his mental illness.

Sorry, I didn't give enough time for the facts to come through and I shouldn't have assumed he had Asperger's.

It doesn't sound like many people here think there is a solution or learning experience to come from this. I don't know either.

I remember feeling a similar way when I was in high school. This kid was not attractive to girls seemingly because of his size and stature (short and slight). I on the other hand was a fat kid. But much the same way, the girls I wanted to have relationships with did not find me attractive. It depressed me. But I didn't hold anything against the girls. I was sociable though. I had many friends both male and female. I can distinctly remember though wanting to kill myself on the first day of high school because the thought of doing this for three more years was ####### depressing as hell.

He might have had ASD, there are conflicting reports.
ASD is a form of autism and these folks are not violent. If he had ASD then he also had something else like mania. Mania could explain the "God" like complex. I doubt he had just one diagnosis. That's what's so hard with many folks with severe mental issues as many are easily misdiagnosed or a diagnosis isn't found because it could be this or well it could be that. It's not so clear cut as physical illness. It really makes finding the right meds, if there are any as for example there are none for AS, very difficult if not impossible.

I don't know why I read the manifesto, but wow, he was filled with so much hate.

It is sad to think how much worse it could have been. For anyone who has been to Isla Vista, you know how dense the streets get with people especially Halloween. He mentioned more than once taking his dad's SUV and running over people. Attias did that with a smaller Saab and killed four people. I can't imagine the carnage with a giant SUV on a busy weekend night especially if he had guns to back him up. It's a scary thought.

I do apologize upfront if the following offends anyone but this boy had only one disorder. You won't find the disorder in the DSM book and there is no finger pointing at any one disorder. Any mention of Asperger's or Autism is giving those "disorders" a bad name. So, stop it.

The one disorder he did have was, JPFC... "Just Plain F###ing Crazy." Good riddance.

His scheme to become a multi-millionaire seems pretty normal, no?

Didn't read it. Only saw "six points" by some writer. Watched the one video.

I think it's his thoughts that women are beasts that deserve no rights and that he is the closest thing to a deity this world will ever see.

This is very much like saying white people, secretaries, or the hungry aren't violent.
From: http://time.com/19957/adam-lanzas-violence-wasnt-typical-of-aspergers/

Despite public perception that autistic children are prone to lashing out in fits of violent behavior, there is little evidence that people with autism or Asperger’s, which is now part of the autism diagnosis in the new psychiatric-disorders manual, are any more prone to violence against others than the general population.

Playing the lottery. It was destiny for him to win z. This included all night drives to Arizona because the Powerball was not available in CA at the time. If he only had fallen asleep at the wheel the first time....

You have to read it yourself. Of course the police would not mention that the plan for retribution came after the states of California and Arizona both let him down.

I'm surprised he didn't win, he was omnipotent.

Damn, Judge. Glad to hear your girls are OK.
So long as they don't go to the SB Zoo today.
Et tu, Brutis?I wrote that it gave me chills. That's it.
Tim accusing someone of racism again. Par for the course.

Urban Dictionary: Brutis. A badass redneck that is really racist and likes to get drunk and fight everyone, while yelling racist slurs. Wow Brutis is the biggest crazy redneck ever.
I think this explains a Peens alias to me.
