Agreed. What has Kate Upton done? What has every other SI swimsuit model? How about the women in Victoria secret ads? They're all hotter than KK but they're all famous for the same reason. If you showed 100 random people on the street pics of every SI swimsuit model from the most recent issue and the same people a pic of KK, KK would be more easily recognized. It doesn't mean she's hotter, but both groups of women are famous for the same reason.

Let's face it, she has a job title that's kind of undefined but she is basically a model at this point.There are a number of world famous supermodels who can't sing, act, or dance (Gisele Bundchen, Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima, etc). Their only job is to look good. Just like you don't like Kim K, not everyone agrees that they look good either. I personally don't think Gisele is very attractive at all, but I think Kim is hot as hell.

So anyway, while they are all different kinds of models, obviously enough guys out there like KK for her to keep getting chosen for provocative photoshoots and designers want her to keep wearing their stuff. Just different strokes and all.

This is actually not a bad point and made me think for a moment before I recovered my senses.

We can certainly have a valid debate about whether modeling is a talent, but the fact is that Gisele (I don't find her particularly attractive either, BTW, and never have), Kerr, Lima, Upton, etc. were all discovered by talent scouts and got to where they are because they worked hard, not because their families had money and Hollywood connections. So that's your difference.

Having the good fortune of being discovered by a talent scout isn't all that different than having the good fortune to be born into a wealthy family IMO. In either case, I don't think a lot of hard work went into any of it outside of working hard enough to stay in great shape.
