John Kitna has a decent matchup against KC this week at home. But now that Detroits playoff hopes are pretty well dashed, what is the danger of Kitna seeing the bench if the Lions get ahead or behind?

Any Detroit folks have a finger on the pulse up there? Is Kitna the guy going forward, or will JT O'Sullivan get some reps? How quick will they be to pull the trigger if Kitna throws the ball to a couple of Chiefs jerseys early on? Are we still playing Martz ball up there, or is it back to the black and blue division running game?

If Kitna is on the sideline the second half of this game I may be out returning Christmas presents

Marinelli is an idiot and wont bench Kitna unless it gets really out of hand. At that point Kitna will have already amassed you his point or lack of points

I have a different take here. Not a Lions homer, either. I think that the Lions are embarrassed as to how that have played lately, and specifically the loss at home to DAL. They blew that game.

They need to show their fans that they are growing into a team that can win games, and after losing 6 in a row, will win this game and win it convincingly. I see a good game here from Kitna, KJ and the WRs. I am NOT saying start these guys if you have not been in the past, but if you have, no reason to bench due solely to the fact that they are out of playoff contention.

I don't think Kitna or KJ will be benched and Calvin won't for sure.

Just my opinion. 31-17 Lions.

Martz said he doesn't plan to limit Kitna. from Rotoworld:

Offensive coordinator Mike Martz said that backup Lions QBs J.T. O'Sullivan and Dan Orlovsky won't see increased playing time over the final two weeks. The short term news is good for owners looking to start Kitna as a QB2. Long term, Martz said that Kitna, who has compiled a 9-21 record in Detroit, will remain the starter in 2008.

kitna palys all the way. with stanton on the IR there is no reason for another QB to see action. they dont need to see more of orlovsky or o'sullivan for next year. those guys are non factors. that leaves kitna taking all the snaps, even in a blowout.

198.9 = # of yds passing allowed per game by K.C. which makes them the eigth ranked team against the pass. Not a great matchup for Kitna IMO.

They're allowing 125.2 yds rushing per game though so you'd think that Kevin Jones would be a solid play. I dunno. Good luck man.

Kitna won`t be benched. If Stanton were healthy he may have got a start or two but the other guys won`t play unless Kitna get hurt.
