Any postgame trash talk yesterday, as there was after the Cowboys loss?

You betcha! Lions quarterback Jon Kitna got the fire started by saying: "That's not a better football team than us. In November and December, you cannot let a team come in and beat you at your place that is not better than you. It's unacceptable to me."

With the rebuttal, Michael Strahan: "I don't quite understand why Jon would say that, but the bottom line is, we're 7-3, they're 6-4. Maybe we'll see them down the road. If that's the case, we'll beat that ### again."

:football: Kitna is such an ######. The lions were lucky they were that close the giants defense shut them down all day. Good stuff though. I would throughly enjoy watching the giants destroy them in the playoffs

I never understand posts like this. So Kitna has confidence in his team and is bold enough to say it. Big deal. I'm sure these comments you're ridiculing are gaining him respect in the locker room of a young team that needs leadership.

Well, I don't know what it gains and what it doesn't gain, but the comments are a little bush to me in that it is poor sportsmanship. I am OK saying that it is disappointing to let a team come to your House and beat you, but the Giants controlled the game and I don't see how Detroit is the better team. Could they beat the Giants, sure, but I think the giants win more times out of 10.

Um,Jon,look at the scoreboard. No matter how you FEEL,your team lost, yesterday they were NOT the better team.

Sounds like Kitna has a bet going in the locker room on that 10 win prediction. Somebody get the league on this.

Thats is not the point. You watch the game from a far different perspective than say... Kitna does.Do you really want your QB saying, "look that team is better than us, they probably beat us more times our of 10."No, you want a competitor who says we can beat that team. This is no different than the people jumping on guys like Willis when he said "I'm the best RB in the NFL." I could care less if I think he really is or not. If that guy is on MY team I damn well want him to think he is the best RB in the NFL and strive for nothing less.

I don't disagree with your thought here and as an ex athlete I am with you, but I just think class dictates to shut the heck up some times.

Yeah, I think its fine if he feels that way and says it in his locker room but to say it to the media after a game where they were clearly outplayed is pretty dumb to me.

I don't know man. I mean a 6pt win doesn't really mean the other team is always better. Now if your team gets beat twice once by 10 and then by 11 then I would have to say that the other team is obviously much better. Wouldn't you agree Giants fans? :wall:

Yeah at this point the cowboys are the better team. I am not going to debate that. I do think the Giants are capable of beating the cowboys but at this point I agree with you, with those two wins its hard not to. Regardless though, the lions were lucky for that game to even be 6 points the giants dominated it.

I'd say that what Strahan said showed less class than what Kitna said.

Because it was a reply I am not sure how you can say that?

Maybe you missed the "we'll beat that ### again." part.

What's wrong with that? It's the truth. The Giants beat up the Lions and Jon Kitna is talking #### because he can't do it on the field.#### this class bull####. This is the NFL, not water polo. What's the defense's job? To beat that ###. Kitna started it, Strahan finished it.

I am not even sure what Strahan said. Beat that "ear" ??? I mean even if it was "donkey" in 3 letters, I would imagine that he would have said we will beat HIS donkey. I guess you could say THAT donkey but using it in those words sounds more like something you would say to a go go dancer than an NFL QB. I hope everyone followed that?

Kitna has 5 TD passes and 7 Int's in his past six games. Can't blame him for doing everything he can to get people to focus on something other than how lousy he has been the past month and a half. Unfortunately, he's on national TV this week and is going to have nowhere to hide after his 0 TD 3 Int effort against the Packers.

He actually played pretty well against the Giants. One INT was McDonald letting a ball bounce up on him and the last one was a hail Mary at the end of the day. if not for at least 3 other drops he could have had an excellent day. That being said, you may be right about deflecting the blame.

He was shut out of the first half. The McDonald throw was a terrible decision. he has two huge wrs and decides to throw an ill advised pass to the smallest one 50 yards down the field with a chance at winning a game you don't deserve to win late.

I am not going debate this but Kitna was 28-43 for 377 while being under a ton of pressure with the Giants not worried about any threat to run and in nothing but pass defense and pin your ear backs and rush the QB mode. Add in 4-5 drops and Kitna played fairly well. They had a few drops that were 15 yard first down plays as well. In terms of the throw to McDonald that you say was stupid...don't you think the Giants were doubling each of the other guys if not tripling them?

I was just thinking today about awesome this quote looks in hindsight. You sure told him, Jon.

Kitna should just accept that Jesus wanted the Lions to lose a lot of games this season.
