When the falcons had duckett and dun, they used dunn at the goalline. nuff said.

Forsett is not a NFL running back , no way he even gets 20 carries this season.

Not comparing the two, but I heard that same statement being made that Slaton wasn't going to be much of a RB either.
Forsett is the RB the Seahawks drafted last year in the 7th round. He made it through training camp and onto the 53-man roster. He was then released on September 9th. The 'Hawks were hoping he would clear waivers but he was immediately picked up 1 day later by the Colts. He participated in 3 games for the Colts (as a kick returner,) netting 4 punt returns for 36 yards & 11 kickoff returns for 248 yards. He was waived by the Colts on October 8th. One day later the Seahawks picked him up and placed him on their practice squad. On October 14th they moved him to their active roster. He then participated in 11 games in 2008 for the Seahawks, in which he had total of 23 punt returns for 227 yards and 7 kick returns for 174 yards. He averaged 9.7 yards per punt return and 23.4 yards per kick return in 2008 for the Colts and Seahawks.
I think if Forsett makes the Seahawks roster this year it will be as a Returner Guy. I really don't think we'll see much of him in the backfield (sans injury to Jones/Duckett) if at all.

Gutsy call. No idea myself, but nice to see people go out on a limb.I hate the Seattle situation, I think it is a RBBC that isn't clearly defined. I think my only interest is if I could get Jones as a 4th back.
I agree, and apparently so do others. Jones was the last starting(?) RB taken in a draft I'm currently in (No Mercy - Guppy) and he went at 9.07, well after 6 back-ups & 3 rookies had been selected. While he was the 4th RB taken for the team that drafted him, that team also drafted Felix Jones two rounds prior.I think it's a two horse stable in Seattle - Jones and Duckett. Pretty much a 50/50 split in workload this year as far as I'm concerned and while I'm not specifically avoiding these guys, I can find better situations to choose from in '09. Neither Jones nor Duckett are on my radar other than to just keep abreast of the RB situation in Seattle.

as a Cowboys fan i'm fairly familiar with JJ. when correctly utilized he can be a decent back. and he's gonna break a few long ones.
correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe the Hawks are going to be using a zone blocking scheme this yr. is this new? honestly im not sure. seems to me the zone-blocking, west coast scheme might be good for JJ.
i could see JJ having some value as he's prolly gonna get the lions share of the meaningful carries, and can be had very cheaply.

I love Forsett this year.
Jones and Duckett have been nothing short of mediocre for their entire careers. It's a golden opportunity and Forsett will almost assuredly make the roster as a return man anyways.
The guy had 136 yds on 15 carries in Seattle's 2nd preseason game last year. He's short but he's not afraid to run inside and was successful at a major D-I school.
The opportunity is glaring IMO. At his current price, he will be on my roster in every league this year.

This is wrong. TJ is 3rd all-time in TDs for Falcons backs. Dunn is 4th, despite playing for two more seasons. Duckett was let go because of his struggles in short yardage, but it wasn't because of a lack of use.Duckett was used by the Seahawks all the time last year at the goalline as well. If they're a better team he'll score more TDs.

Not sure how someone can say he wasn't used at the goaline. In TJ's last 3 seasons with the Falcons he averaged 9 TDs and he averaged only 140 carries. He had 27 TDs versus Dunn's 15 TDs and Dunn had 670 carries to Duckett's 422 carries. If Dunn was the goal line back, then TJ must have had a hellacious ypc those years with all those long TDs to rob Dunn's chances at punching it in from the 1.I don't want to say he was very good, but even in Seattle last year he had 8TDs on 62 carries. That is the definition of a short yardage/goal line back.Weiner Dog

If you're in a performance-scoring league, this article is your opportunity to nab Julius Jones for peanuts. Whereas JJ should not be a #1 or #2 for your FF team, I believe he would be a great bye-week/injury filler.
