what's the deal with this guy? 10 tackles 1 assist? i remember predraft he was the "trendy" sleeper. i looked at his first 4 games and he had 7 tackles and 1 sack, then today, boom, 10 tackles. did he get his first start today? in he for real? worth a spot? thanks in advance.

When getting stomped 40-7 there's a good chance the FS (last line of defense) is a little busier than usual.

He's been starting since Vincent went down in week 1.

Is he for real? If you mean is the 10 solo game a sign of a future stud, then my answer is no. He has a couple 1 solo games as a starter too. I think he'll improve as a player. He's young and very inexperienced (in college too), so he should get better. He's a natural SS and a little out of position at FS, but holding up fine, better than I expected.

A question I have (for Aaron or other Bills fans), did they put Simpson in the box for run support and use Whitner as the last line of defense? That would seem smart to me and bode well for Simpson's future numbers, but Donte had 8 solos himself. Busy defense yesterday.

#1 I disagree about Ko Simpson being a natural SS. He's a pure FS type player whose best attributes are his playmaking skills and speed/coverage ability. His tackling (and everything else) is still going to be a work in progress since he only played 2 years of major college ball.

#2 In the Bills cover 2, both safeties wind up playing pretty deep. Bernard Berrian was destroying Terrence McGee all day and the Bears running game reached the secondary pretty often, so Simpson and Whitner both wound up having big games. It was more a function of the front 7 and CBs struggling and missing tackles than anything else. I have high hopes for Whitner and Simpson long-term but their fantasy production will likely remain very inconsistent for the rest of this year.
