Kobe Bryant dead in helicopter crash - TMZ (3 Viewers)

Bunch of folks in this thread asking for lifetime bans
Only one person here to the best of my knowledge wrote anything offensive, and he left of his own accord.  Another person very early on wrote something in questionable taste but it was just a poor attempt at humor.

Chemical and biological weapons. Human trafficking. Torture Chambers. Bike Lanes. There's many more, far worse.

Sad day for laker fan. They love kobe and Rick Fox. Sad day for anyone else that feels empathy to a family losing their dad and husband. What a tragedy.

You know on the positive side, they left behind a great example of hard work, dedication, persistence and success to inspire anyone. We are so focused on the bad news, we forget all the good these people brought to the world. Peace to the families
Doesn’t sound like Rick Fox was on board if the tweet from his daughter was legit.

Bike lanes are wonderful, need more of em.

Jim Grey on Fox News right now talking about the deceased daughter. They got her name right and which one it was, but they also twice referred to her as his "eldest daughter". But she isn't the eldest daughter. Again, people who are only seeing that part of the story are still getting bad info one way or the other regardless of how this actually turns out. I would say the people on this board have been far more responsible than the ACTUAL news networks with our commentary to this point. Thank guys

Woj says Kobe and his daughter were on the way to a traveling basketball game. Another player and parent were on board.

Really sad.

I didn't care for him on a personal level, but I'm sure his fans and family did. Heartbreaking for them.

I was thinking I hope no other kids were on board.  Cant wait for these super messy lawsuits.

Hug your family when you see em

Yes, this bothers me too. Wait to you get all the info before giving out details that often end up being completely wrong.

Watching local LA coverage, guy saying poor visibility likely a factor. Pilot was highly skilled/highest certification. Flight path shows he followed the freeway at low altitude and did a u-turn before crash likely due to low visibility.

Those days are long gone and never coming back.
Was it really any other way though? It’s just that information can get passed so quickly now through so many outlets it’s hard to control what gets reported and how it gets reported.

Foggy this AM even over here in Pasadena.

Let’s put this into a little perspective: this thread started a little over an hour ago. By now we have pretty accurate information.

Whenever there  is a sudden event like this in real time, it’s always best not to trust all the news being reported in the first hour or so. Nonetheless I’d rather hear the rumor and sort it out for myself rather than hear nothing at all. I honestly don’t think it’s that harmful if it’s corrected within a short period of time.

Truly a legend of our generation.

So was he at the game last night headed back or just happened to be on a helicopter?
Kobe used to go to Laker games and practices all the time in a chopper and still a frequent user.   Said it beats sitting in the LA traffic jams.

RIP

Right now there are still people with the wrong info out there. My point stands.

Let's put this into a little perspective, there are people out there who know and love Rick Fox and Kobe's other kids. These people experienced the additional traumatizing news that these people were dead. But it's okay, because you'd like to hear rumors and bs and sort it out yourself? Are you kidding?

If Rick Fox or any of his family reads this board, I apologize to you guys for posting here what was being tweeted by a bunch of people!

Just shocking. I used to really root against the guy because he would always destroy Denver, but have really come around to appreciate what a great player he was.  So sad.....

So many powerful and moving tributes all over the place right now.

All the sports media is in Miami, it is going to be something extraordinary in the sports media world next week.
