Koren Robinson (1 Viewer)

Robinson has been working out in Phoenix with the guy Brett Favre credits with prolonging his career by putting him in the best shape of his life. Robinson claims the same results.

He was a Pro-Bowl KR, and very good receiver for Minnesota 2 years ago - I am picking him up where I can afford a roster spot...

22 receptions 347 yards 1 TDI know the Vikes have had WR issues, but not even they can consider those stats to be "very good"

Robinson has had 1 good year in Seattle 1250/5 but has never had a very good year. And he's coasted on that one season ever since.

Let me put it to you this way. He had 20 less yards as a KR in MN than he had in his best season as a WR and has been repeatedly suspended by the league as well as his team.

That there's much better use of a roster spot?

Ok. Now we can discuss it.Koren Robinson with an ailing Culpepper and semi-erect Brad Johnson putting up 16 yards per catch and getting to the Pro Bowl as a returner now catching passes in the aerial circus that is Green Bay, or Mark Clayton who has never averaged more than 10 yards per catch with Boller throwing to him. Ike Hilliard with Garcia lobbing the ball? Dennis Northcutt? Isaac Bruce? These are the guys on the wire. I think, if you have a roster spot you can play with (which everyone should) - you can do much worse than taking a flyer on Robinson putting it together with Favre tossing the rock. I don't think you can expect more than 4 cathes per game (if that), given the receivers already there, but they can use him deep and he can run after the catch.....we'll see.

blah blah blah

"Though Robinson has been out of football for a year, the 27-year-old pronounced himself in the best shape of his life at 203 pounds and 4 percent body fat, and ready to contribute at least as a return man and perhaps as a No. 4 receiver when the Packers return to the field after this weekend's bye."

======

"Ted Thompson, the Packers' general manager, said the NFL probably will inform him today on the length of Robinson's roster exemption. The league generally gives teams one to two weeks in such circumstances to have the player practice before adding him to the 53-man roster or releasing him. Though it's clear the Packers are excited at what Robinson can bring to the team as a return man and receiver, Thompson was tempered in his projections."

======

"We don't know (what he can add)," said Thompson, who as vice president of football operations for Seattle drafted Robinson in 2001. "We haven't seen him in a year. He's been away from football for a year. So, we're going to take this and study it and see how everything looks, obviously see how he fits in and what roles he would play."

======

Thompson took a risk last year when he signed Robinson, who has the remainder of this season plus next year left on his contract that is based on a prorated portion of $585,000 salary for how many games he's on the roster this season and $595,000 next year.

Sorry, but flying around over 100 mph while drunk and several DUIs on record DOES make you a bad person. Repeatedly taking the lives of others into his hands, while a symptom of alcoholism, still makes you a bad guy because when you plan on getting drunk and driving hime, after all the times it's already gotten you in trouble, it shows that you just don't give a damn.

He was also suspended by the team (Seattle) at least twice in his stint there for disciplinary reasons, so the nice guy image is a bit thin.
I don't think Koren is a bad person. Why do you keep capitalizing some of your words?
emphasis and initials
Thank God. The way you're hatin' makes it sound like Koren stole your wife...
I'm not hatin'. I'm just telling the truth based on watching the guy every week he's played since the Seahawks drafted him. Just because it's not something you want to hear you call it hatin'. That's a cop out. Provide me one single solitary piece of evidence that shows that Koren can be a viable fantasy or GB WR option
Prime example...Last week's game vs. Chi: GB is down by 7 and needing a late score. Jennings and Jones are out due to injury. Driver is paired opposite of Ruvell Martin?!? No disrespect to the Saginaw Valley State alums on FBG, but :confused: ...Then Favre comes out this week saying about Robinson: "I think he can offer a lot"...probably wished he had him in there for that drive.
We've established that Favre wants him out there, but I don't see how that proves that Koren is going to come in there and actually catch the balls thrown at him. Favre has had very few games with Koren to base his opnion on and he is going off what Koren has lived on for his entire career, potential. The proof is that when he is in the game, he drops the balls, period. Favre could wish for a new Reggie White but that doesn't mean some underachiever on his team is going to step up and be Reggie White. Sure it would be nice to have someone other than Ruvell Martin in there, but just wishing that Koren was in pads doesn't change the fact that HE CAN"T CATCH. So again, until you have some proof that Koren can be a viable (not to be confused with simply available) fantasy or NFL option... :shrug:
Umm...he can catch. Yes, he does drop quite a few...but the guy has shown he can catch.I don't think too many people are trying to think he will be more than a #3 or #4 guy in GB. And yes, he is a viable option for that.

242 career receptions means the guy can catch.
