Our league gives big points for return yards so CB that return are a huge advantage. I would apprciate any information regrarding these two (why Miller didnt return and if Cromatie will return when Turner comes back). Also, any other return news would be cool.

I think the long term plan may be to have Cromartie eventually return kicks and/or punts, but Marty didn't want to put the rookie in that situation yet this year, so I'd expect Turner to return kicks when he gets back (hopefully next week). But as some of you saw yesterday, Cromartie does have skills - it's all about getting his head together right now - so it wouldn't surprise me to see him get used more often as a potential game breaker.

yes, why did you give a fat ZERO yesterday Justin Miller?
Miller didn't have any points b/c he didn't have any returns. The Texans kicked off only three times - two deep, and one onside. They intentionally kicked away from Miller when they did kick deep by kicking bouncers that hit at the 20 yard-line.

Joshua Cribbs is really a great returner for the Browns

unfortunately he has had 2 - 4 returns for a TD called back on stupid penalties that really didn't even help spring him

eta: including the opening kickoff of yesterdays game

Wow, thought he was just out, thanks for the information.

yes, thank you for that. For those who had no access to that game, it would look like he was out.

Allen Rossum is the KR and PR for Atlanta and back-up CB. He has been getting on the field defensively a bit more lately and has 5, 2, 6 tackles in the last three games to add to his return yards.

The Jets' defense has been playing much better in recent weeks, and that limits Miller's return opportunities, and he's so dangerous, teams are definitely trying to keep the ball away from him. I'd look at matchups when it comes to Miller now, but the schedule doesn't look very good for Miller, in terms of KO return chances.... the Jets play GB, Buf, Min, Mia and Oak. Not exactly a bunch of high scoring teams that will be kicking the ball off a lot. In fact, the Jets have inly had 3 KO returns in each of the last 3 weeks, against NE, Chi, and Houston. Not many chances for Miller to burn teams in the return game.

Justin Miller did return that 59yd field goal attempt that Houston missed short just before half for 24 yards....

Does anyone know if Jerome Mathis is going to play this year. A few weeks ago I read that he should be back in a couple weeks but I haven't seen any new news. Anyone have any more information? Thanks!

According rotoworld.com Mathis will return kickoffs starting this week. If your counts kr yards, pickup mathis now

"I'm leaning toward activating him because he worked out well for us Saturday morning and worked out well today. I told him, 'Jerome, I want to activate you, but there's not going to be any excuses. If I activate you, you're full go, a full-time receiver and not just a kick returner. You're not coming back just to return two or three kicks a week.' He's ready to play. His other leg started bothering him, but we put a little pressure on him and asked him to prove it to us that he's ready to play, and I think he did that."- HC Gary Kubiak

Mike,

Thanks for the quote from Kubiak! How much play do you think he will get as a WR if he comes back 100%. Possible WR3?

Also, does anyone know why N. Buerleson did all the KRs instead of Josh Scobey? He would be a good one to get if this were to continue. He had three catches and dropped a TD.

I thought Nate Burleson looked good Monday night returning punts and now kickoffs. He was also somewhat involved in the passing game. Anyone know if he will retain the kickoff return duties? If so he makes a nice pick up in any return yardage league.

Turner sat out Wednesday, any info on him for today would be great when you get it. Was Cromartie impressive enough for the starting KR spot, I know he had a long run but was wondering if that was the product of blocking or not.

Unhappy returns

With punt and kick returner B.J. Sams out of the game with a broken right leg suffered during the second quarter, it was surprising the Ravens didn't use second-year receiver Mark Clayton as a replacement to return punts. Clayton can't be fulltime because he is a starter, but it might have given the Ravens a spark.

Other possibilities for spot duty might be safety Ed Reed or cornerback Chris McAlister. It might be worth a try in the future instead of Corey Ivy.

Questions:

Cox-TB

Is he or Pittman the returner?

Cromartie-SD

Is he NOT the guy in SD when Turner is out?

Wade-Tenn

Is Pacman taking his spot?

Hester-CHI

Is he taking KR duties as well?

McGee-Buff

Was he being kicked away from or injured?

I would like to know about wade also.

I would think that Burleson would be a good option for KR/PR the rest of the year. He is also used as a third wr.

I think I am dropping Wade for him unless I find any other info on him.

I think Seattle is pleased with the change to Burleson to KR so i would look for that to stay....Scobey is in there as a blocker.

And from fox sports.....

Corey Ivy - #35 - Cornerback - 5'9" - 188lbs

News: Corey Ivy will be Baltimore's primary punt returner going forward.

Impact: Ivy is also the team's nickel back, so maybe rookie David Pittman will get a chance to play in the secondary with Ivy stretched thin. Coach Brian Billick says Mark Clayton might also run back a few punts. (Mon. Dec 4, 2006)

Not sure if Ivy will be KR....

Cromartie is definitely the KR as long as Turner is out. It's tough to say what happens when Turner comes back. I wouldn't discount the possibility that he keeps the job.

Yes. He was being kicked away from twice early, then tweaked his ankle on a 1st half return. Week 14 status unclear as of Monday :football:

He is #1 DB in our scoring system. :wall:

The Ravens are going to fill the void left by B.J. Sams in the return game with a committee of sorts. Undrafted rookie Cory Ross will handle the kickoffs, while the Ravens could rotate nickel back Corey Ivy and starting receiver Mark Clayton on punt returns.

Did Cromartie return any on Sunday even? Also, is Pittman hurt or is Cox stealing the job.
