Honestly, whoever broke this story should be hit with a brick upside the head for even trying to cast doubt on Collins in the slightest way without knowing the facts. The most important day in this kids life is coming up tomorrow and he's confirmed not to be a suspect, why try to ruin his draft stock?

He immediately lawyered up instead of talking to the police. That's suspicious to me. You weren't there and have alibis, tell the police directly if you have nothing to hide.

He was at the draft. Only about 30 million people or one of every 10 Americans knew this. It isn't like he is a Russian double agent working undercover gone to ground after his cover is blown.

I asked earlier if he had refused questioning by the police. You mentioned a text from a radio station. You can appreciate the difference, right? He left the draft and should be en route to talk to the police. Retaining an attorney in a murder investigation is not necessarily "proof" of something nefarious or sinister going on. There is this new thing called wrongful conviction. Watch the doc Thin Blue Line sometime. Somebody was put on death row just because of nothing more than false testimony from an unreliable witness.

* It would be weird if somebody in the Saints front office had a relative or contact in the Baton Rouge police department, and they kicked him loose and cleared him while NO was on the clock at 31.
