It is baffling to me that a head coach could not see what everyone was saying about Miami passing too much. Glad he was fired, Lamar is going to be a solid RB2 moving forward.
I agree. Im not sure id trade Lamar Miller if it wasnt for some definite RB1. I think Miller has the tools to be top 10, it's just a matter of getting him the rockExcited for the rest of the season now. There is hope.
This idiot should never get a coaching gig in the NFL again. How can someone be so stupid at the highest level of football? Any team that hires this moron is in big trouble.Faust said:Rotoworld:

Dolphins’ Joe Philbin was holding back offensive coordinator Bill Lazor

Bank on it. They fire him and the new HC says to the OC, 'run what you want to run'. All of a sudden, it's a balanced offense. Seems obvious that Lazor wants this or he would keep doing the same #### Philbin was telling him to do.Philbin wasn't calling plays, was he? I find it difficult to believe that the HC was overruling the OC in order to pass more.
Scratch that. Might be a top 3 PPR RB by years endRough seas at the outset but might end up being a top 5 PPR running back by years end. Very glad I was patient and held him on my bench
I can't even tell you how many crap offers I was getting for him after the Jets game. How the crap does he look this good after just a coaching change?? Best buy-low of my life!
Lamar Miller rushed for 175 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries and caught all three targets for 61 yards and one touchdown in the Dolphins' 44-26, Week 7 win over the Texans.
Miller did all of this in the first half, as this game wasn't even as close as the 18-point final difference would indicate. The Dolphins took a 41-0 lead into halftime and rested Miller the entire final 30 minutes. So far, so good for Miller's usage under interim coach Dan Campbell. On his first touchdown, Miller took a screen pass 54 yards to the house before later housing a run from 85 yards away as the Texans' defense couldn't tackle anyone Sunday. Miller now gets the Patriots on Thursday night in Week 8. He's a solid RB1 after Joe Philbin's firing.

Pretty much, doesn't even look like the same teamPhilbin being exposed for the complete moron he is.
Haha, that's what I called him like 3 years ago before he got drafted.Guy looks like a young DEN Portis, from what I recall.
i hope campbell keeps the HC job next seasonPretty much, doesn't even look like the same teamPhilbin being exposed for the complete moron he is.
Definitely nervous about the Pats matchup. Think Ivory being banged up was a reason the Jets couldn't get much going on the ground. The Dolphins have shown the last 2 weeks that Miller is definitely a focal point in the offense and they'll give him the ball.Wouldn't be surprised to see him put up a clunker vs Pats on Thursday. Jets run game was completely shut down today. Could have a lot to do with Ivory getting banged up, but Pats have been pretty stout vs the run since they got shredded in Week 1 by D'angelo.
Starting wonder about this one actually. The Pats hardly ran the ball themselves without Lewis yesterday.Definitely nervous about the Pats matchup. MIA has done very well against NE . . . playing in Miami. Going up against Brady in New England? Not so much.they will get lamar the ball this week. The fins are going to hang with NE. they always (usually) do.
This is my thinking as well. Tougher matchup and they may fall behind, but he's gone from unpredictable usage to the focal point of the offense. Even if they end up getting blown out he's got a great shot at 10+ touches just by halftime. He can also catch so he's still involved even if they fall behind. He's pretty much in my lineup without a second thought every week going forward (assuming health of course).they will get lamar the ball this week. The fins are going to hang with NE. they always (usually) do.
So you're saying there's a chance! With Brady in the lineup, the Pats are 12-1 at home against the Fins
true. although he did only play a half of football this week. should be fairly fresh.MIA has done very well against NE . . . playing in Miami. Going up against Brady in New England? Not so much.they will get lamar the ball this week. The fins are going to hang with NE. they always (usually) do.
With Brady in the lineup, the Pats are 12-1 at home against the Fins (the only MIA win was in 2005) with an average game score of 27-13. The Dolphins also won against the Matt Cassel led Pats in 2008 (in the infamous Wildcat game).
If the Dolphins can keep the game close and commit to the run, Miller should have decent numbers (but not Texans numbers). Playing on Thursday night probably won't help his numbers.
Doesn't that caveat usually apply more to the passing game?MIA has done very well against NE . . . playing in Miami. Going up against Brady in New England? Not so much.they will get lamar the ball this week. The fins are going to hang with NE. they always (usually) do.

I believe part of the issue is limited practice time and limited game planning time (which impacts even healthy players).Doesn't that caveat usually apply more to the passing game?MIA has done very well against NE . . . playing in Miami. Been saying this since day freaking one.jurb26 said:Miller is a good back. It's mind boggling that the previous regime couldn't figure that out. He's a must start the rest of the season.
So long as he gets 15+ touches, he will produce top 10 numbers IMO.
