LaMont Jordan 2k7 (1 Viewer)

Picked him up early this year in my keeper league. He's sucked. Based on that, I overpaid. Based on last year, I made a good deal.

He had a lot of value last year out of the passing game ... One would think that with an inexperienced QB they would have utilized him more this year in that venue.

Clearly, the OL sucks. But is it that much worse than last year?

And what to make of this situation for next year?

I'm going to bench him whenever possible for the rest of the year, but I'm puzzled as to what to think about him for next year.

maybe they're just taking it easy with him until he gets healthy, but lamont seems to be stuck in a three man RBBC. Crockett and Fargas are both getting 5-10 carries a game. i still think he's the most talented back in Oak. And as bad as the raiders are on offense i dont see them trying to upgrade the RB position with so many other needs. my jordan owner wish list: the OL gets much better in 07 (draft and free agency focus), the QB situations stabilizes, Art Shell gets fired. without at least one of these things i dont see much value for lamont next year either. :bag:

I am extremely interested in the off season for Oakland. There are many things to be addressed on the offensive side of the ball. The defense in Oakland specifically the secondary is becoming really good. And the defense all around has been way better than average.

The problem in Oak town is coaching on the offensive side of the ball. I don't think Shell or Walsh deserve another year, but I am not the owner and have no clue as to what is going to happen in the off season.

That O-line is God awful and last game it was even worst as they were missing 2 starters. So an offensive line that is the worst in the league missing 2 more starters makes it even worst. There is one RB that would be semi successful in Oakland at this time, but he plays for the Chargers.

Right now it is very bleak being a Jordan owner. Heck it is very bleak owning any offensive players on Oakland. They need to address the O-line badly. I think they will continue with the Brooks, Walters combo at this point and hopefully address that O-line.

Lamont Jordan will again be a top 10 RB this season.
How's that going for ya? Jordan's success last year can be directly attributed to Norv Turner. To show some evidence behind that point, look no further to how Frank Gore is doing in San Fran under Turner and how RBs have performed under Turner in the past.Unless Jordan gets a new coach and a coach who will get Jordan the ball at all times, regardless of losing or getting hammered, I do not see much from Jordan next year. Last year Jordan had success with a crappy Oakland team because even when the Raiders would be losing, Jordan would still be getting touches in the receiving game. Their offense just has too many holes to think that it can get significantly better through off-season acquisitions.

I noted this in another thread, but Jordan's starting role next year could be in trouble. Davis specifically said last year that he wasn't happy with his production - despite the 1K yards, his YPC was poor. And Al can't be any happier this year with Jordan.

I think the Raiders will bring in some serious competition for Lamont. As a Jordan owner, I'm not liking next year much better than this one.

I dumped Jamal Lewis and some picks for Jordan about 6 weeks ago and I've been disappointed. I did this on the thought that Jordan is simply too good a receiver to not be getting catches out of the backfield. Obviously, a lot of this can be attributed to Turner forcing him the ball last year - but I hold the hope that at some point (hopefully next season) a coach will be brought in that will utilize one of his RBs best traits. He's got low mileage for a back his age, so I'm hoping that he can return to being a decent RB2 provided Oakland can shore up it's O-line and get Lamont the 20+ touches that he needs.

As a side note, what would some of you Jordan dynasty owners be looking for in return if you were to try to move Jordan? I'm trying to get an idea of his value as the thought of moving him has definitely been entering my mind the last few weeks..because I'm just not completely confident that what I mentioned above will in fact end up happening in the future.

Maybe six weeks ago I traded Jordan for Caddilac straight up in a dynasty.

 I'd take that in a heartbeat.
