What are the chances of this guy doing anything for the rest of the year? Is he even worth a roster spot anymore?

I am dropping in all leagues. He is in the doghouse of a coach and organization that is back to rebuilding mode and is not exactly forthright in giving an indication of who gets a majority of the carries from week to week.

At this point I'm not dropping him and I hold Jordan and Rhodes. I'm going to try and peddle him off to the Fargas owner to get some value back but if that doesn't work I'll just sit tight. Oakland's schedule is pretty brutal from here on out and Fargas has never been able to carry the load for more then a few games in his 5-6 yrs. in the league. I'll set the over/under at 3 games before Fargas get's hurt and I'll take the under, Chicago or Minnesota should be enough to do it.

Ever hear of Michael Bush?

Oh yes...I know all about Mr. Bush but since I only had one pickup remaining I choose to drop my backup kicker for Kolby Smith at this point and attempt to deal one of these other busters rather then wait for the Raider RB mess to be sorted out.

He's heading to my waiver wire and I'm not looking back. I was fortunate to grab Holmes instead and I pray for Holmes upside rather than keep Jordan's downside on my roster. It was nice while it lasted.

Why is he in the doghouse?
Because his numbers were not good against San Diego, Kansas City or Tennessee and Fargas did better against Tennessee. Really I think this whole thing is an aberration.... Fact is SD, KC & Tenn loaded up on the running game because Culpeper is horrible and generally speaking these three teams usually have pretty tough run defenses. Fargas's yards against Tennessee came primarily on 3rd downs when they ran on normal passing downs. Is it a surprise that Fargas succeeded against Houston with McCown at the helm? No, not at all and I would have expected Jordan to do the same. We'll see in the next two weeks if Fargas really has anything but I'll stand by the fact that he's had the opportunity for 5 yrs and never been able to take it until this bozo called Kiffin got put in charge.

I just don't think that you can overlook who the guy with the temporary starting role is. Fargas is not a rookie but many on this board this year seem to think he is. The guy has been around for years and has never seized any real opportunity. Whether it was injury or lack of performance. Give up on Jordan now and you may have regrets similar to owners that dumped Brees after week 4.

I agree. The only one thing in Fargas's favor is potential, he was once regarded as the number one overall rb coming out of high school and set many California state records. He has shown some flashes of that ability at times but has never been able to maintain it at this level.

Why is he in the doghouse?
I thought it had to do with the huge roster bonus he was due for next year? And with the fact that Fargas seems to be at least as good (and much cheaper)? If he did something untoward (love that word, see if you can mix that in somewhere today), it's news to me.

Jordan hasn't done anything that has been published and the Tennessee game is really the only way to make a comparison but even that isn't an apples to apples comparison since Fargas did his damage on 3rd downs. I have no doubt that they are pulling the plug on this season and that they are evaluating the other backs at this point.

i am a hopeful jordan owner i guess and i don't understand how most nfl contracts work...but if jordan is reasonably healthy and the cap hit isn't really different if he is cut this season or next...wouldn't it be nice of the raiders to let jodan go if he isn't in their plans? he has shown he can be a good to very good back in the league. i have heard enough excuses of why he sucked the last few weeks (back injury, culpepper's use of shotgun formations, etc) to think jordan could still contribute this season and i do believe there are teams...even playoff teams...which could use his services. especially a team using a ZBS (ahem, green bay). would jordan being let go and signing somewhere else be a possibility?

If you search back to last week there was a thread regarding the possibility that he or Rhodes might be cut soon but I'm not so sure of that with KC and Denver both possibly in need of a RB. This is only my opinion but I don't believe there is any way the Raiders cut him this season if there is a chance that either of these rivals might claim him off of waivers.

I'm in a redraft and just dropped Jordan. My league doesn't have deep rosters so I can't afford to keep a guy who just doesn't look the same since he hurt his back in Miami. Luckily I was able to snag Fargas off the WW to take his spot.

I did the same today as well, but the transaction has not happened without much pain for me. Because my league has roster levels that don't allow me to carry much dead weight, I had to make a choice. But I am not totally convinced that I am doing the proper thing. Maybe Jordan's back is hurting him more than publicly known and maybe the coaching staff is working with him to keep his load level lower to rest his injury. However the Raiders need to win now, not later and Fargas to this point has been more proficient in production. What is haunting me the most is if my feelings are correct and Jordan gets better in the next several weeks, he could come up big in the FF playoffs. Others have mentioned it already - it's really up to Fargas' production as a "named" starter that will probably determine his fate the rest of the season.
