Lance moore? (1 Viewer)

Practicing fully again. Possibly no jimmy graham. Available in most leagues. Are people sleeping on this news? I think he makes a sneaky pickup and plug and play wr3 this week vs buffalo.

I saw the news. Not sure, but this could be the week where he posts one of those 150 yards, 2 TD games, and then is never heard from again.

last year he had 1000 yd season with graham and sproles both dinged up. Now possibly graham is dinged up again...

Okay, then it's possible he could break out. I think everyone has forgotten about him since he has been gone since week 3, but he didn't do anything the first 2 weeks either.

Yeah this muddies the waters, might be Moore an Stills splitting snaps which stinks...I was hoping to play Stills

Moore has value with Jimmy Graham out. He is a sure route runner, sure handed move the chains guy. Drew will also look his way in the red zone.

Thanks for the tip. With many injuries and bye problems, Moore could be a real godsend. He is one of those guys who can explode out of no where for a big day. I doubt he has "lost" it; just been injured.

Moore does seem to be a guy flying under the radar - he didn't do much in the first three games before he was out, but then again, neither has Colston. It's obviously been the Graham show (outside of last week).

Moore has a history of doing well when Graham is out - serving as the move the chains guy - and I think that Brees will look for him again assuming Jimmy is out.

Lots of people pimping Watson as capturing some of Graham's production, but I'm not so sure he'll be just a plug and play guy. Ben is known as a prolific blocker and while he may get some targets, he may kept in to protect Brees - leaving Moore as the underneath, move the chains guy.

Just my two cents.

Moore starts, Stills takes over the Henderson/Meachem play of come in, run deep and catch 1 pass for 60 yards and a TD. They cut Meachem.

Moore seems like an excellent bye week fill-in against BUF this week, though I'm doubtful of his value going forward. I'm tempted to pick him up, but I need help at RB instead.

I have to admit I am pretty desperate at WR this week. I am having a hard time deciding who to grab, Moore or Stills. Starting both might be an option if Graham is out.

What would Lance Moore's floor and ceiling be this week?

My guess is if Moore is healthy:

His Floor would be 3 receptions for 50 yards and 0 tds.

His Ceiling would be around 7 receptions for 100+ yards and a td.

I love Moore this week and expect a 5/80 with an offchance of a TD.

“Lance is a guy who can play all over the field,” Brees said. “He’s probably the best overall route runner (on the team).“His ability to set up certain routes, especially against man coverage, the way he can study guys and just know the certain techniques to play versus different corners, and his ability to get separation especially on the intermediate routes – and you talk about playing a team that’s a heavy man team, like Buffalo – that’s a great asset to have.”

Moore said he’s been eager to return to the lineup, and became especially so while watching his teammates play another team that was heavy on man-to-man coverage, New England.

Just cuz he's practicing doesn't mean you can assume he's healthy. His floor is still pretty much zero. He's worth a roster spot, but not a start, unless your team is screwed and you are very desperate.

Nice info. here. I've been going back and forth about both him and Stills but this article sounds like Brees just tipped a little bit of game planning. Specifically mentioning what type of defense Lance is best against and the team they play runs that a lot is enough for me to roll with him.

Interesting. This is going to make my line-up decisions a bit tougher today. How confident are we that Moore won't be rusty/is 100%?

I do like the idea of using him as a WR3 in PPR today.

 Buffalo does not play a lot of zone. When they intercepted Flacco five times a couple weeks ago they were playing zone every time.

I like Moore this week but I would put his floor at 2-25-0. Good ceiling if Jimmy doesn't play but a lot if unknowns.

I'll probably sit him in favor of Durham. I also have Colston and Sproles so for my decision a lot if it is not wanting to depend too much on one offense.

ETA: thumbs

I'm not personally claiming to know how often Buffalo runs a man vs. a zone but the guy (Brees) watching tape all week stated that.

Brees loves the guy. If Graham is out he could be a sneaky play.
I agree, he went unnoticed in a lot of my leagues. I wish he was more involved prior to his injury but now Graham is gimpy, COlston just seems off this season, Stills is not the 7-8 catch type yet, you have Sproles who has been a little hit n miss.

It would seem like the planets are aligning for him, I just hate playing guys 1st week coming off injuries, I could see him posting 2/25, 3/30 something like that with hopes for more touches in the coming weeks.

It's tempting but very hard to pull the trigger.

  • Moore has not been relevant early in the season, Graham has been healthy and beasting
  • Then Moore was inactive for three weeks straight
  • Graham is injured and is listed questionable the week after the bye week (never a good sign)
  • Moore not only is activated but is suddenly practicing in full
  • Injury status on Graham is eerily quiet
  • Brees made it a point to call out Moore this week on his ability to play all over the field
I think Graham is going to be inactive and Moore will play a big role this week

Great post but Graham is active today. The rest all makes sense.

I think Graham being active is actually going to help out Moore as I believe he (Graham) will serve as a decoy.

Aside from Sproles, someone is going to have at least a decent day amongst NOs receiving options. Most people would put their money on Colston I'm assuming but yeah, it could very well be Moore. Again, it definitely does help that Moore morphs into Jerry Rice when playing at home in the dome.

This was the correct answer even with Jimmy in the game.
Doesn't that mean it was the wrong call? "with Jimmy Graham out", "with Jimmy Graham out"...Graham isn't out and Moore just caught a TD.

Right call for the wrong reasons...congratulations?

Unless you thought Graham would be limited, which if you're watching the game he obviously is. Also if you know anything about the saints, Moore is one of Brees favorite targets of the past few years, even more so in the RZ. Healthy Lance Moore is decent wr3/flex the rest of the year.

Debating between him and Kerley. Someone nabbed Moore, Kerley it is!

Knowing a decent amount about the Jets, he can struggle against a good a slot receiver. Thinking 5-75-1 today.
