There should be an NFL-Ebay so we could watch the bidding.
...but they won more games without Moss and Culpepper than they did the previous season with them!!So, basically, if this happens, the Raiders got Culpepper and Moss for a crappy LB, Troy Williamson, and a third round pick......great trade Minny. Once again, Minnesota gets the wrong end of block buster deals, not that I mind, being a Cowboys fan and all.....

Vikings ready to trade Culpepper by end of weekend

Daunte Culpepper's career as a Minnesota Viking is officially at the point of no return.
Fed up with their disruptive and disgruntled starting quarterback, the Vikings have decided to trade Culpepper in the coming two days, a league source confirmed to SI.com.
While the Vikings know they will not receive a windfall for Culpepper, who put up MVP-level numbers and went to the Pro Bowl as recently as 2004, they are at the point where they are willing to take anything decent in return for a player who this week asked Minnesota to either trade him or release him.
Miami and Baltimore have been mentioned as possible suitors of Culpepper this offseason, but league sources say Oakland might be in the drivers seat in the pursuit of Culpepper. The Raiders traded with Minnesota last February for receiver Randy Moss, with whom Culpepper had his greatest success in the NFL. Oakland cut quarterback Kerry Collins last week in a salary cap move, but was able to rescind that transaction when the ongoing CBA negotiations prompted several delays in the start of free agency and left the 2006 salary cap figure undetermined.
The Vikings have tried to be patient with Culpepper this offseason, and new head coach Brad Childress has made repeated efforts to build a relationship with the team's franchise quarterback. But to no avail, the league source said.
"The relationship with [Childress] doesn't work,'' the source said. "They just don't hit it off.''
The Vikings face a less than teeming trade market for Culpepper in part because of his strange behavior and curious decision to have little or no contact with the organization this offseason, as well as him being in the midst of rehabilitation from a major knee injury, which ended his season last Oct. 30 in a loss at Carolina.
Culpepper, 29, fired his longtime agent, Mason Ashe, earlier this offseason, and then several times asked the Vikings for a lucrative contract extension. The Vikings declined to consider a new deal until he returned healthy in 2006, but did intend to pay him a $6 million roster bonus that is due March 17.
But those plans changed this week, when Culpepper responded angrily to an email he was sent by the team, going public with his demand for a trade or the termination of his contract. Vikings sources at the NFL Scouting Combine two weeks ago said the team had no intention of giving Culpepper away without receiving significant value in return. But his most recent pique of temper lowered the bar on what Minnesota would accepted in trade.
League sources say the Vikings don't believe that Culpepper was orchestrating his own exit out of Minnesota, and instead cite his immaturity level and wounded pride as the impetus behind his at times bizarre behavior.
Where do the cap-rich Vikings go from here on the quarterback front, once Culpepper is dealt? For now, Childress is very comfortable turning over the starting reins to veteran Brad Johnson, who played superbly in Culpepper's absence last season, winning his first six starts and going 7-2 overall.
Minnesota also has some interest in exploring the market for San Diego starter Drew Brees, who is set to become the most sought after quarterback in free agency. Brees, however, has a rehabilitation of his own to contend with, having torn up his throwing shoulder in the Chargers' final game of the 2005 season. That makes the Vikings somewhat wary of pursuing Brees, who is thought to be Miami's top priority in free agency.
The Vikings are probably more likely to pursue former Cardinals starter Josh McCown in free agency, or consider using a second or third-round pick on a quarterback, grooming him to take over for Johnson in a year or two. If McCown would join Minnesota, the Vikings could still use a second-day draft choice on a young quarterback prospect.

We can always dream!!Baltimore? For Ray Lewis?
Doesn't look like it. If it's true someone has a deal in place for him, it's not the Ravens - Ravens | No deal for Culpepper; at this timeWe can always dream!!Baltimore? For Ray Lewis?
As a Miami fan I would much rather have Brees the Cpep, especially if we have to give anything up to get him. I just can't see Cpep as a Saban type player, he makes too many mistakes and I would be very disappointed if Miami traded for him before even taking a shot at Brees. Please keep him away from Miami.
Maybe the Rams can get both Culpepper AND Pennington and BUILD themselves a QB out of spare parts.Rams | Possible spot for Culpepper?

But in some ways, if they got CPep cheaper, and drafted Brick, or moved up to get Bush... well, that might be better.Imagine Deuce for CPep, then they are able to get Bush. (Absolutely no basis in reality, don't call this fishing, or even speculation, merely a thought)1.02why isnt new orleans looking for a qb?

I have a gut feeling that Baltimore is blowing smoke. This was a pretty quick denial. They also said this week Drew Brees was injured much worse than originally thought, so they aren't interested in him. Just last week they were ready to replace Boller. I don't trust these guys after they and Jax jobbed the Vikings in the 2004 draft. I'll be anxious to see how it pans out, and who ends up in Bal.RWDoesn't look like it. Jamison Hensley, of the Baltimore Sun, reports it has been confirmed that the Baltimore Ravens have not made a deal for Minnesota Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper as of Thursday, March 9. It is believed the Ravens have concerns about Culpepper's health status, which could limit him next season.
Billick another OC of PEP's!!!
One kick away from the SB!!!!
"Where Culpepper is going is the biggest mystery in the league. As of now, it is not Oakland. The Raiders and Vikings spoke Thursday, but Oakland is trying to gauge whether or not it wants to try to match, or beat, the other teams' offer. It will spend Thursday night mulling its decision."Sounds more like the Raiders need to crap or get off the pot. Basically the Vikings are giving Oakland overnight to cough up more in trade or they go with the other offer.Sounds like he HAS been traded. Will be final Friday.. Not to Oak.

Really? You could have 1-8 less wins next year.It could be a lot worse. Hate to break it to you.The sooner he's gone the better. We can't do any worse.
He led my fantasy team to a comeback over a 15-0 team to win 'MVP' honors in my SFL championship game.I think Minnesota goes into rebuild mode for a year. I see BJ doing aight, but nothing specatcular. Fantastic QB3, but that's about it. I also expect him to miss time due to age....But good for him if he gets one more nice signing bonus before he calls it a career....I would think that this will do wonders for the value of Brad Johnson
Chances are you'll be cutting Frerotte unless you have very deep rosters. As a cpepp and brad johnson owner i'd be stoked if he went somewhere else so i could take up another starting qb and maybe trade one (c-pepp, brad johnson, plummer, frerotte). One guy has only Aaron brooks, ramsey, and warner. Another guy only has Favre, and Pennington
Oh, that's just beautiful. Thanks for the link. Starting bid: US $1,000,000.00Culpepper for sale on ebayThere should be an NFL-Ebay so we could watch the bidding.
What's wrong with Bulger? Don't see the reason for the Rams to make that deal.Profootballtalk has a rumor of it being the Rams with Bulger maybe in the mix for a trade.
I'd take that one in a heartbeat...
Sounds good, except that Porter blows. He's not 1/100th the professional Carter was. He's got Raiders written all over him...Culpep to Moss, part Deux...with Porter playing the role of C. Carter.
Maybe Porter should start doing some coke?Does anyone really think Minny would trade Daunte to the Lions, being in the division and all?Sounds good, except that Porter blows. He's not 1/100th the professional Carter was. He's got Raiders written all over him...Culpep to Moss, part Deux...with Porter playing the role of C. You know that Al daivs isn't gonna make the right decision.I'm impressed...
This is probably the most airtime a QB coming off a 2:1 INT/TD season has EVER received. Oh, yeah...he also since tore every ligament in his knee and he's a running QB.
I think old Ozzie in BALT is playing this smart. Let the Raiders have him and get Collins on the cheap.
No. Unless maybe they truly believe the injury is worse than thought. There's extremely little chance that they'd risk giving Detroit that combo at QB/WR with Martz in town.Maybe Porter should start doing some coke?Does anyone really think Minny would trade Daunte to the Lions, being in the division and all?Sounds good, except that Porter blows. He's not 1/100th the professional Carter was. He's got Raiders written all over him...Culpep to Moss, part Deux...with Porter playing the role of C. As a (sort of) Chiefs fan and Culpepper owner, this would be win-win for me.You know that Al daivs isn't gonna make the right decision.I'm impressed...

lots of 4th place finishes for the silver and black coming
No way they send him to a division opponent, dont want to get burned by him for the next 10 yearsMaybe Porter should start doing some coke?Does anyone really think Minny would trade Daunte to the Lions, being in the division and all?Sounds good, except that Porter blows. He's not 1/100th the professional Carter was. He's got Raiders written all over him...Culpep to Moss, part Deux...with Porter playing the role of C. it's a zealot's league so after the NFL draft our rosters will expand to 60 for a few months, i'd probably cut one of my other qb's if need be. The rest of my qb's are Rohan Davey, Adrian McPherson, and Dan OrolovskyChances are you'll be cutting Frerotte unless you have very deep rosters. As a cpepp and brad johnson owner i'd be stoked if he went somewhere else so i could take up another starting qb and maybe trade one (c-pepp, brad johnson, plummer, frerotte). Vinny T ?As a dynasty Culpepper owner my top preferences where it is rumored that he could possibly land are:
#1 - Arizona (Could you imagine the numbers he could put up with Boldin & Fitz?
#2 - Oakland (Defense still sucks...Porter & Moss nice duo to chuck the rock to)
#3 - Miami - (Team is heading in the right direction and in addition to a great WR & TE to throw to......Ronnie Brown has soft hands and would be an excellent outlet for C-pep.
I don't buy the Rams rumors...no way do they deal for Culpepper.
Baltimore is where I don't want to see Culpepper go. When was the last time Baltimore had a decent passing game?
