Tapp was a popular sleeper/up-and-coming pick last year, and this kind of surprised me. I know Tapp is kind of undersized, but I thought he had a good motor and seems like many had him ranked in the top 20-25 for dynasty.
Now it looks like there may be more to worry about than originally feared from Jackson.

The FBG outlook for Tapp:Defensive coordinator John Marshall said the plan is to start rookie Lawrence Jackson for the second straight exhibition game. Jackson started Saturday. Jackson and veteran Darryl Tapp are competing for a starting job at defensive end.
If he stays on the field a la Tuck, he might at least have more opportunities. Norton already highlighted some of his positives in Aug 2nd Eyes of the Guru (which I won't reprint here since it's paid content)... seems like he might be getting that opportunity sooner rather than later.Worth grabbing now? Additional thoughts, particularly from anyone who has seen the Seahawks games? Jene/John, have you guys had a chance to break down those games at all??Tapp owners probably shouldn't be too concerned by the presence of Jackson (at least not this season, as most young DL take a few years to mature and develope). While Jackson is technically sound (as would be expected for a four year USC starter), he isn't necessarily a quick-twitch athlete and may always be better against the run. He also could be more of a long term replacement for the still spry but aging Kerney, and could shift to the inside on passing downs ala Justin Tuck, which wouldn't bump Tapp from the starting rotation. The FBG staff consensus ranking has him falling just outside the starting DL dividing line, but he has top 15-20 upside if things break right.
