Le’Ron McClain (1 Viewer)

I love what McClain has done thus far, but week 6 is decision time for me. I have Lynch on BYE, so will have a chance to use McClain for the first time. My bad luck usually means that a guy like him who has been scoring every week (when I don't need to use him) puts up a fat goose egg when I actually do need to use him.....

Ehhh, sorry...stream of consciousness post by me earlier..

Just wondering what others think about ESPN projecting McClain 5th overall in RBs this week (93 yards 2 TDs). THat is 20 spots higher than SJax and 25 higher than Barber.

Is he that good of a play vs Indy??

I can see the 2 TDs, but not the 93 yards.

What happened today? Did the 2 fumbles put him on the bench, or was he on the field but they didn't try the run?
I think the big lead by Indy had something to do w/ it... McClain is more of the closer, grinder where Willis is a home run threat. But only 2 carries is a concern

I've been trying to say on this site for several weeks now that McClain is the starting FB when Mcgahee is healthy. A starting FB who will see some goal line action and get an occasional carry. That's all he is when Mcgahee is healthy.

McGahee wasn't healthy though.

The big lead killed him. I think the fumbles probably limited his playing time, as well. McClain is a good RB, but he's not generally the type of back who will get a lot of touches when his team is down a bunch. That said, McClain has been their best runner, & it really hasn't been close. He's a decent receiver, too. McGahee just isn't getting it done, & while Rice has potential, he's not done a good job running the ball either. McClain will likely always be a little underrated because of his build, but he's got good vision & has quick feet for a big guy. A perfect fit in Baltimore's offense. He's intriguing because the Ravens rarely give up a lot of points, thus, they're normally in the game into the 4th quarter. It'll be interesting to see if McClain can overtake McGahee this year.

Because of byes and injuries, I had to start him the last two weeks, and as I suspected, the minute I started him was when he stopped doing anything.

Glad this topic was revisited. I've got both McClain and McGahee and I need to drop McClain or Norwood this week (any ideas). Balt wants to run McGahee when healthy thus McClain's touches should be limited, as long as McGahee is on the field you probably won't see the #'s from McClain when McGahee was out.

FWIW, I've got McClain ranked below Cedric Benson and BenJarvus Green Ellis. Dropped McClain and Bulger today to add the latter two.

Here is an idea, trade Willis and McClain, along with Rogers for a better RB. Use those two roster spots for Nate Washington or Donnie Avery, and pick up the defense that plays the crappiest QB/offense this week.Your welcome.
