Leagues without waivers (1 Viewer)

I have a league that I am in that voted to ditch waivers and go to a straight FA system once players are unlocked for the week. I voted against it because I don't always have time during the week to jump on latest news. I can play by this rule, I just prefer to not have to.

Anybody have a league like this? What strategy/approach do you use to take best advantage?

Anyone know what time ESPN unlocks players for the week in the wee hours of Tuesday morning? I'm going to set my phone alarm every week and grab the hot player of the week just to spite them all!

Sorry if this is not Shark Pool worthy.

Strategy? About the same "strategy" I used to get Justin Bieber tickets for my daughter when they went on sale...

Sign up for every website you can with nfl email alert. Have your cell bookmarked to your teams. Its really a free for all but if you getting news the minute it happends you have an advatage over guys that won't bother going an extra mile. wasn't fun for me at first but I made adjustments

Leagues like this are dumb, people have jobs and other commitments in life. So they are penalized because they can't be at the computer the second free agency opens. It takes the fun out of the league, and sooner or later it will alienate the owners who can't log on the site and grab the best free agents. It is always best to a round of waivers and then open it up to free for all free agency.

When I first started with my current league it was like this. They opened waivers @ 7 AM so people could do it before work. I startd @ 630 so sorry I couldn't drop what I was doing. We changed it the next year.
