Pacman Jones returned an interception 83 yards for a score, had a 70-yard kick return, and caught a 14-yard pass in Week 15.

Oh, and he also shut down Matt Jones all day, including breaking up a possible touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Pacman is playing as well as any cornerback in football and deserves a Pro Bowl spot as a cornerback/special-teamer

There is no Pro Bowl spot for the cornerback/special-teamer. You must be good enough to make it as one or the other. Pacman doesn't qualify.Oh, and it will take more than one game of shutting down Matt Jones ( :goodposting: ) for most reasonable people to say that he's "playing as well as any cornerback in football." Please.

He's good enough to shut down Evans. I'm not saying it's guaranteed to happen, but if you've got better options......

I'm sort of confused. Your title led me to believe this thread would be about this week's matchup between a WR and a CB, but your first post is just all about praising Pacman Jones (and it's as much about his special teams play as it is his defensive play). Not trying to offend you, but I guess I'm just a little unclear as to what your main point is.

My main point is that I think Evans will have a bad game (see title of thread). I posted some tidbits about Pacman just to indicate that he's playing well, not as a reinforcement that Pacman will shut down Evans, but to only raise the eyebrows of those starting him they might want to consider other options if they have them.

Understood. :goodposting:

He could still have a good game. Pacman is one of the best, he shut down Harrison both times this year.

The problem is when they play zone and he releases the WR to the safety. Which that saftey is usually Lamont Thompson...one of the worst in the league.

Evans will probably get his usual 2 catches for 100 yards and a score.

Pacman isn't Champ Bailey just yet. As much as Jones likes to go for those interceptions, can't you see at least one of those nasty double moves that Evans makes getting him in the end zone?

Harrison had 7 catches for 172 yards and a TD 3 weeks ago vs. Pacman. If that's what you guys mean by "shutting down" Evans, then I'll gladly take that and smile :lmao:

I think most of those were on the other CB....Hill is his name I believe

These are the numbers put up by the #1 WRs the Titans have faced in the last 7 games Pacman played

AJohnson 9/78/1

DMason 8/64/1

Stallworth 4/75/0

Burress 4/44/1

Harrison 7/172/1

AJohnson 7/68/0

MJones 3/12/1

Average: 6/73/.7

that average looks pretty decent to me.

Was Jones covering Harrison man on man? or was he coving Wayne?

I don't know. Is he going to cover Evans all game tomorrow?
Considering the Bills other WRs, my guess is that Jones will cover Evans all day long. It's not like Buffalo has a WR2 like Reggie Wayne.Edited to correct post from Titans to Bills when referring to the Bills #2 WR.

I wouldn't think wind becomes a factor on the deep ball until it gets over 30+. How strong is Losman's arm?

Losman has a good arm but the wind he struggles with in Buffalo.

It says 22mph but on the field it will be much greater.

It's got me worrying now!

He killed MIA on the deep ball with similar or worst wind. He has a VERY strong arm. The OC was recently quoted as saying JP thinks he could throw through a hurricane. He is a big advantage in those conditions. Harrington by contrast had a nightmare of a game.

http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=4533maybe Diesel or some other Titans homers can chime in here, but I think Chris Brown usually has pretty good info and he thinks Evans is more likely to match up against Reynaldo Hill tomorrow.

2. Reynaldo Hill vs. Lee Evans - This is clearly a mismatch that favors the Bills so expect to see a good amount of safety help for Hill when facing Evans. The Titans could perhaps have their top corner Pacman Jones follow Evans all day, but Tennessee usually keeps their corners on their assigned side of the field.
the Bills and Losman have also been pretty successful working out of 4-WR sets lately with Reed and Parrish inside. That could help create some mismatches.

Nice info Aaron. That could change things for sure. Now it's a guess as to whether the Titans remain the same and play Hill on Evans, or switch off to Jones. How's that wind going to be again? :banned:

Not only am I a Titans fan, not only do I have a very nice bottle of wine riding on which of BUF and TEN ends with the best regular season record, but in the one league I have a bunch of Bills players (incl Evans) I have already been eliminated.

So, sorry Aaron and you other Bills fans, I'm hoping TEN will stomp all over you...

Do Andre Johnson, Marvin Harrison, Plaxico, Dante Stallworth and Chris Chambers count?

IMO, to bench Evans this week you have to have a top 10 WR to play in his place. Otherwise I think it's not smart.

What if it's Reggie Bush in a no-ppr league?
Close to a coin flip IMO. Both have high ceilings and similar floors. If the winds are indeed very high in Buffalo as it seems they might be, I'd give the slight edge to Bush. Plus he'll probably return a few punts, although the Giants have a good punt coverage team.

alrighty fellas...

...Lee Evans, Braylon Edwards or Jerricho Cotchery.

Braylon does not have a bad match-up and Anderson seems to like him??

Pacman plays LCB, Harrison plays RWR...thus, he was covering Harrison the entire game. Wayne plays LWR...

thats funny. im making that exact same choice at my 2nd flex spot. Ive got a few very borderline RB's as well, and was leaning Evans all week. now im not so sure.
