Lendale apologizes for comments. (1 Viewer)

Nah. Give the rock to CJ instead. Let LandWhale think about it for a week.
Strangely, I think the opposite could happen. Fisher has something special here-- a potential Super Bowl champion. I completely disagree with placating whiny players, but I think he'll also want to consider the team's chemistry and he knows he'll need White in the playoffs. Some "let bygones be bygones" carries could get him back on board and let it put the issue past them. Then again, Fisher is a great coach, and the "right" thing to do would be to teach him a lesson by letting him think about it on the sideline (especially when they won't need him this week). But I really see the opposite as a distinct possibility.

How about instead of Fisher making a decision based on punishing or placating White, he will make his playing time decision based on winning the game?

I know it's only the hapless Lions but a game is a game which I think is more on Fisher's mind then how White feels about his playing time.

Having said that I'd expect to see a lot of Johnson and White back to his usual extended short yardage role.

Id LOVE to get some sort of insight on old fishers plans with this....of course I know I wont before kick off.

Im a CJ and MJD owner who has been dumb enough to start CJ over MJD the last 3 weeks and have PAID FOR IT DEARLY. So I REALLY want to tell myself that I will finally start MJD over CJ this week and low and behold CJ gets the ####### lions.....youve GOT to be kidding me!!!

Sometimes its better to reduce your chances of winning in the short run by a little so you can greatly increase your ability to win in the long run.

Why beat down CJ against a terrible Lions team? The "whale" will see a lot of carries this week.
I agree here, I'm thinking about playing LenDale instead of Chris Johnson in a league that I have both in, Lions are that bad
Im thinking of doing that same thing. I would play both but that would mean sitting Lynch against the niners and dont really want to do that. Ugh, what to do.

The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive. It's very likely that both CJ and White will get a lot of carries this week. Fisher's MO is not a mystery. In games that are close or their ahead White will see about the same number of carries as CJ (albeit most coming later in the game) and in the games they are behind White will barely touch the ball because CJ is by FAAAAR their best player.

CJ coming off a short week, Lendale is well rested after having not played.....I think Fisher plans to have Lendale carry the load this week and allow CJ to get a well deserved break to keep the rookie from hitting the wall. It just makes sense. CJ gets 2 weeks off in week 13.

Consdering how CJ only got 11 carries last week I would think he was well rested as well. Just saying.

Yeah getting tackled beats you up, but pass blocking a 280 LB man running straight at you hurts probable at least as much.

So in reading this discussion, why do you think FBG's has CJ3 ranked so high this week? If there is a significant threat for Fatdale to get 50% of the carries, how can CJ3 live up to his ranking?

if the lions give up 300 yards and 3 TDs rushing, who cares how much goes to CJ3 and how much goes to Fatdale?
I get what you are saying about the Lions D, but when I need this week to secure a first place finish and have to choose between CJ3, Gore and ADP, I actually care how much impact Lendale is going to have in the game. I have not put ADP on the pine all year and have concerns about him being #17 this week in our league rankings compared to CJ3's top five ranking with a 50% chance Lendale could steal the show. That's all I'm trying to say here.

if that's your choice, no way do I sit Gore or ADP ... ever

Then you're not a Gore owner. If you were, you'd have a better appreciation of just how quiet he's been the past few weeks.

CJ is going off today...no question he is the feature back and the only reason Lendale is on the map is because he has had the vulture role and a freak 80 yard scamper.

Plain and simple. Lendale White is a marginal talent. And for petes sake Lendale lay off the KFC and maybe you would get more touches.

Except for that multiple TD game against the Rams. Two weeks ago. Not so quiet.

Gore owner here.
I'm not saying he's a dog. I'm a Gore owner as well and, overall, very happy with him this year. But if he's a must start, either you haven't been paying attention or you don't have the appropriate depth you need at RB. Ronnie Brown and MJD are my #2-#3 RB's - I'm starting them over Gore this week. And I don't think I'm really stepping out on the ledge with that decision. That's all I'm saying.

The way it looks..the cry baby got his wish..but thats bad news for those who have Chris Johnson in the playoffs..he will be rested now alot! White is the RB to play now!

Big Hand for the Whale - he came up big today.
He's a fat tool.any other RB in the league puts up the same numbers
people have said this last year when he did well and this year when he's at or near the top of the NFL in TDs. If you don't respect him, at least respect that terrific OL and FB clearing the way. As long as those guys are there Lendale will be effective in short yardage situations more often than not.The Bus was used halfway similarly by Pittsburgh and adored for it, yet people beat Lendale White up over it. What's with all the goalline short-yardage hate?I think there's some closet fans expecting more. Pretty hard to rationalize hating all those TDs

there wasn't really ever an issue here.Lendale made dopey comments, talked to coach(who understood), he apologized...it was all quick. It didn't have much of any time to become a big deal. What starting RB in the NFL would be pleased with 3 carries? I think Fisher half expected him to be upset some.
