I'll be the guy waiving goodbye to the bus as it waddles past. BUST!
Agreed, watching this Bus to nowhere leave the station. In a keeper league, sure Lendale is fine to have. Bu to think he is going to produce this year? ** Lendale is overweight and shaking injuries
** TENN QB is uncertain (though yes, Volek can be decent)
** TENN will have one of the most piss poor offenses in the league.
** TENN Defense sucks too -- they will not be leading games in fourth quarter
In response, Point #1 - Lendale is reportedly down to 235 hardly overweight and considering he had his best games at around 250, hardly a concern. He is coming off one injury, a hamstring injury. He has already give that time to heal and it isn't even training camp yet... think that will be a concern during the season, I highly doubt it.
Point #2 and #3 combined - Volek has been efficient in the past and there is no reason to think that he can't be again. Not too mention that if he isn't then there may be a Kerry Collins sitting there waiting to take over or maybe they hand the reigns to VY in either case it doesn't matter because the passing game will have 2 or 3 QB's capable of at least keeping the defense honest. To go with the QB TEN has a far better than average WR corps that includes Drew Bennett, David Givens, Ben Troupe and a talented young WR group behind them. I think this is one of the most underrated offenses in the league but I will give you that you do have to question how Volek will handle this unit.
Point #4 - Once again I believe this is an underrated unit. They upgraded by getting David Thorton, Chris Hope and re-signing Vanden Bosch. They have a damn good front 7 and still have a young but immature talent in Pac Man Jones. My guess is that this unit will be more than adequate and keep TEN in games.
...and finally my Point #5 - People tend to forget how well Fisher brought McNair along. What did he do? He realied heavily on a running game, a running game centered around a young back with the same build and style as Lendale White a man named Eddie George. Combine this with the fact that Norm Chow was his OC while at USC and that is two signs pointing that TEN wants to build this offense around a running game so that they can groom VY slowly and let him mature in an NFL offense. My guess is that they will have success simply because Jeff Fisher knows wtf he's doing.
