Leon vs Slaton? (1 Viewer)

I like the potential of Slaton if he is healthy to be a better producer versus Leon if healthy also. I do think that Houston's drafting of Tate is significant but what if he isn't the back they hoped for? What if he is another Lendale White as he seems to be described as having the same running skills as White? I believe Slaton has the potential to be a home run being he slimmed down and is now healthier that last year. What do you think?

I have no idea how Carroll is going to use Leon and Lendale. He coached lendale so maybe he gives him the majority of the carries? There's also Julius Jones in the mix but I doubt he brings much. They wouldn't have traded for two backs if they thought he was worthy of much.

If I had to choose one I would choose Slaton but not by much. I'm not doctor but that injury and procedure sounds ridiculously bad. If I was sure he could be 100% it would be him in a landslide...

I don't mean to be a downer, but this is one of those cases where it is too early to tell. Not only do we needs to see how Washington acclimates to his new team, but we also need to see how Slaton responds to competition. While I will have my eye on both in the preseason, I think these two are close enough that it is going to come down to who starts, and even then, will most likely be determined throughout the season based on their respective competition's health/performance.

We also don't know how Washington will come back from a pretty nasty injury. It's really tough to get too invested in a guy with a new team, new coach, new scheme and fresh of a brutal leg break.

I honestly wouldn't touch either player until the very end of any draft I think at best they are role player at worse then never come back to full strength.
