Rotoworld.  That's probably where it's coming from.

Bills have a Week 10 bye.  As an owner, I'm already planning for him to be out until week 11.

LeSean McCoy acknowledged he felt "a little pain" in his hamstring while running a pass route in the third quarter of Sunday's loss to Miami.
Asked if it would have been better to sit against the Dolphins, McCoy replied "You might be right." Players always want to play, but it is incumbent on teams to protect players from themselves in situations such as this. Coach Rex Ryan took the ignorance-is-bliss approach after Sunday's game, saying "We thought he was fine" and "I don't know that he wasn't 100 percent." this is all speculation AGAIN...until I get confirmation that he is doubtful or out, I will not trust Rex, Lesean, his agent, or any reporter who is bucking to be the first to tweet "breaking news"

I don't disagree, just calling it like I see it.  Gillislee is the much better football player right now.  I don't play FF so I have no biases.

And there is the problem.  Just like this week, we could have several more weeks of "Will he, won't he?" instead of a definitive "He won't!".

 
I don't understand why teams let a guy play when he is only 75-80% healthy.  Usually there isn't such a difference between the starter and the next man up that 75% is still better than the backup - with QB being the exception.  If an RB is only 75% healthy, most likely the backup will be the better player that day anyways...  On top of that, with a soft tissue injury it will just get aggravated or at best take longer to heal so you're taking a risk to play an inferior player... awesome decision making there.

I thought that was a brilliant coaching decision - it showed poise and grace, a deeper insight than anyone gave the Bills credit for. I wholeheartedly applaud that wise and genuinely excellent play-calling.

If McCoy was fully healthy I would start him over Jizz or Ware...in case you missed it prior to his injury McCoy was the number 2 rb in standard.

 
Was dumb to play him this week but I think people are jumping to conclusions assuming he's out for a few more weeks. Reports have varied from simply removing himself due to precautionary reasons to feeling a little pain but nothing conclusive yet about actually making it worse. Have not even heard if an MRI is scheduled. He injured himself last week on Wednesday and now has a full week to heal so if he's not made it worse I think he plays this week.

Not even trying to be optimistic, I'd rather he sat and I could just roll with an inferior option like Gilly but more than anything I just want McCoy well. Bills played this dumb, but still think it's premature to reach conclusion it's going to come back and bite them. And I know all about McCoy's issues last year, not all hamstring injuries are similar.

But he's  obviously not healthy, which is the context of this discussion, and you also said you were starting them over Glee which is why your statement sounds kinda ridiculous

This proves Rex is a moron. Instead of letting Gilly gain some valuable experience last week and possibly giving their backup some confidence, he ruins both of them. Gilly could have had a nice game this week getting into a possibly groove with McCoy coming back fresh next week. Now is he going to continue to fiddle week to week where he starts McCoy and he comes out or is ineffective?

 
Situation is being mismanaged. Of course McCoy is saying he wants to play. He doesn't want to appear soft. When the coaches let the player decide he will 99 out of 100 say he will try to tough it out. The point of being a good manager/coach is to step in and say "No, you are sitting this one out , kid." saving face for the player so the player can tell his team mates, media, friends, wife, etc. that he wants to play and would play and is ready to play, etc. but the coach just won't let him. Take the heat for the stud. This Rex guy reminds me of those kids in HS who ran their dad's muscle car full blast in the rain with bald tires. "What could go wrong?"

Its Monday dude. If it is being reported that McCoy is fully healthy later in the week I am still not starting him this week. How is this hard to understand?

 
McCoy played on 40% of the snaps, Gil 37% and Bush 32%.

Earlier in the thread I mentioned how Bush was active (once word came out that Williams was inactive), but that he'd be lining up at WR often. I didn't watch the game, does anyone one know if that was the case?

This situation ####### blows.

I didn't notice Bush lined up at WR too regularly though it probably happened a few times.  There were a few plays of both Bush and McCoy in the backfield together, including the Bills first TD.

He lined up in the backfield but ran many routes, they motioned him out some as well.

If McCoy misses, Gilislee is the guy who will get 15-20  touches, Bush 5-7.

But you still said Glee.  Which is what I'm taking issue with. Not McCoy, Glee.

You said you'd start Ware, Zeke or Jaquizz over Glee.  One of those 3 would have to break their leg to use Glee over them, and even then it's a maybe based on Sunday's fiasco.

This is my last response as you are trying to muck up the thread(like most you post in) if McCoy was ruled out glee would be considered a strong start by a lot of people.

Come on, get real.  He would be a fine start because you are in a pinch but no one would say to start glee over Ware or Zeke.  It's not even debatable.  That is why you comment looks silly.

 
I don't care about any speculation or what I think will actually happen.  As a Mccoy owner I WANT him out for a few weeks.  I would rather have him for weeks 11-16 than not at all, which is where this is heading, and heading there fast.

Because with an injured hamstring he will be performing at a level of production that you should be able to acquire via WW or trade at a reasonable price.

Awesome job by Rex. I'm not expecting much from McCoy for a while. It's unbelievable how many times they're going to keep doing this. Sammy came back from his foot surgery to end up on IR. McCoy went through this last year and where did that get us?

I think the unsung hero in all of his is Josina Anderson. She must have a crystal ball, or really know of Rex's incompetence, because it's likely going to be 4 weeks before he's healthy. Maybe longer if they don't sit him.

 
Maybe?  It's a guarantee Mccoy won't be healthy all year if they keep rushing him back in there.  That is the nature of a hammy injury on a speed player.  Can't run from the facts no matter how hard you try.

Funny how @WheelsUp hasn't shown up in this thread since prior to the game Sunday when he was calling for a league investigation over McCoy faking this injury.  Something he was "certain" about.   

And that @Hot Sauce Guy called Josina Anderson a liar and basically suggested she be burned at the stake for her tweet which is looking more and more accurate by the day.  Yet not a word was said about Ian Rappaport for declaring McCoy "should be his normal self" this past Sunday.  In fact I think it was suggested he be "praised for his accuracy" while Anderson should be "shamed."

But anyways....

Yeah, its common sense to everybody but apparently Rex Ryan that McCoy should be held out through the bye and hopefully gets healthy and right for the stretch run of the FF season.

She (Josina) said he was out for a month.

was he out for a month?  :confused:  I must have missed that. 

i said she was irresponsible for that and that journalist should be held to a higher standard.

she was never "more and more accurate" - she was never accurate at all. 

He didn't miss a month. 

He started the game!

They are most certainly not the facts. Josina looks no better now than she did when she blatantly blew the call of McCoy "missing a month".

I didn't catch what she said on air, feel free to link if you have it, but she tweeted that her source told her McCoy was out last Sunday and could miss more time thereafter depending on healing.

Obviously he ended up playing Sunday but he just as obviously shouldnt have been and predictably aggravated the injury and reports are now that he is likely to sit this week. 

You can go through whatever mental gymnastics you want to justify all of the ridiculous stuff you were posting last Sunday.  Based on other stuff you post I'm pretty sure you're good at that.

Sorry I have not been back, had other things to worry about, its Thursday now, I can pick it back up. He is 50/50 again this week. He isnt ruled out yet? He did leave in the 3rd quarter, when the game was out of hand, like most quitters and drama queens do. This is what he does, he wants the drama.

I did say he would play, right? I notice you want to get on me for saying he was faking, yet no credit for saying he will play? Cmon man.

I wouldn't call her a journalist and that's not how things work anymore. It's all about being the first to report something. That's all people care about now, not 100% accuracy. Might as well say all of the people breaking stories should be held to a higher standard. They never are.

I hope he sits so that he heals.  I get that Rex does not want to tip his hand to an opposing team on whether McCoy is playing but to actually play a RB with an injured hammy is simply stupid.

McCoy should Absolutely SIT - they aren't going to beat the Patriots with or without so why not help him heal and be ready for future weeks (@SEA next week which is a non-play IMO)
