Leshoure vs. Kevin Smith.... (2 Viewers)

cmon. all that matters is what the coaches think and the touches were 29-0. It was a no decision.
Did Kevin Smith even see the field? If he was not in for a single snap it makes a difference in my league.
:goodposting: I dont see a way to lookup if he was on the field at all. Anyone actually watch the game?
He was in a few series in the first half. Don't think he saw the field in the second.

Cool thanks - anyone know of a way to look this up for future reference - if a player plays but isnt directly involved in a play?

 Thanks for this. It matters for me and some guys in the FFA Wagerng thread.

Leshoure is not even a top 20 back talent wise. But the coaching staff loves him and are going to ride him the rest of the way. Leshoure is a top 10 fantasy prospect. He is one of the few backs on the NFL who will get the bulk of carries, catch 4 balls a game, and get most of the goal line carries.
This may turn out to be true, there are a lot of talented running backs in the NFL, but none of them are Kevin Smith.

Ditto.

I wasn't surprised that LeShoure got the majority of the carries today, but I was surprised that Joique Bell got some, while Smith got zero. How did Smith fall all the way to the bottom past Bell?? Does Smith have any value at all? I'm really confused with this running offense ...

Can't believe it but I am going LeShoure over Chris Johnson today...oof! :bag:
Don't do it.
If Johnson explodes and turns the corner, great. If Leshoure even gets 10-12 in PPR that's a big improvement lately. Johnson is killing me and the OL is not getting better plus Detroit is not that bad on defense.
Win some lose some TT, look like I got lucky today. Insane that TN puts up 44 and CJ does nothing. But I am not surprised.

Kevin Smith received zero touches in Week 3 against the Titans.

Mikel Leshoure started the game in his return from suspension and saw the vast majority of the work out of the Detroit backfield. Smith was in for, maybe, a handful of snaps, playing only on third-and-very-long. Joique Bell even saw nine touches, working mostly in the overtime period. Smith showed very little in the run game through the season's first two weeks and has been pushed deep down the depth chart.

Nothing like a little revisionist history after a few weeks of play.

Annnnnndddd.........Smith was on the field for a grand total of 5 snaps.BTW, Footballoutsider's interface is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. It took 3 browsers and 10 refreshes just to get the information on Smith I was looking for.

K.Smith is a third down back at best now. Bell will be playing chance of pace and some 3rd down snaps. Smith will get the remainder... He's a drop IMO, not worth a roster spot except in 14-team or greater leagues...

The Lions should release Kevin Smith so he can get picked up by someone else and be a Top 20 Running Back while Leshoure averages 3 yards/carry for them.

I just dumped Smith in the one league I owned him in for Ryan Williams.

Maybe with Kev Smith's fragility the Lions are playing it smart and keeping him off the field until they need him lol. I think we all know if Leshoure gets hurt they are going to turn back to Smith and not Bell. So by keeping him off the field they are protected from worst case where they have to give the rock to Bell 20 times.

Smith has been counted out for 2 years and keeps holding off challengers. I'm holding on til he gets hurt bad or retires. He's easily the most undervalued RB in the league. I mean he's outscoring Alfred Morris in most leagues. STUD!!!
:lmao:

I have both Leshore and Smith and cant figure out why Leshore is so favored K.Smith has had some great games for DET and has produced solid fantasy numbers. Is Leshore that much better player them Smith. Is Smith a clubhouse menace or has he fallen out of favor with the coach? What is the status of Bess How does he impact the rotation when and/or if he returns.

Any thoughts

Read the thread, he isnt good and hasnt been for over 2 years.

Leshoure looks awful. Saying he has no burst is an understatement. I'm sure he's being effected by his groin injury but I still think the plodder tag is correct.

This just ain't true. Leshoure is favored by the Detroit coaches, that much (it seems) is obvious. But to suggest that Smith hasn't been good for over 2 years is just wrong, and nowhere in this thread has that been proven. Since Smith came back last year, he has a 4.6 YPC, and he has been effective. The Det coaches think Leshoure brings something to the offense that Smith doesn't, and THAT is why he is favored, not because Smith hasn't been good for over 2 years.

No you're right, they like Leshoure and Best and thats why they are getting the start when healthy, coincidentally they are both better than Kevin Smith.

I know I'm right, but thanks for confirming it.

Smith was more talented before the Achilles became LeShoure's Achilles heel.

So LeShoure didn't break a run beyond 4 yards until late in the third quarter when they were down 20-6. This is almost as painful as watching Doug Martin plod around...

rosterwatch.com is a good source too

I hope Smith gets traded to a team with an offensive identity, in-season.
That would require a team to be willing to pay for Kevin Smith to play football for them.
Umm...
Week 3: 0 attempts for 0 yds, 0 rec for 0 ydsWeek 4: 0 attempts for 0 yds, 0 rec for 0 yds
Yeah I’m convinced that Schwartz found Smith giving his wife the high hard one
I think you may be on to something. She must have had it in the back door at that. Leshoure sucks.

I live in Michigan and I am a sports geek. I have said it in many threads please fellow sharks listen there isn't a single player in the Lions backfield that you want to own, unless it is a best ball league. They can't run the ball, and they shouldn't try to. This team is a mess and on its way to a top 10 pick this year. Buy Stafford low if you can, Megatron is the best, Nate Burelson is a decent flex, and Pettigrew is a top 10 tight end (barely), but please STAY AWAY FROM THE BACKFIELD. It will only get worse when Best tries to make a come back in a couple weeks.

Been trying to move Leshoure for whatever I can get.Their oline looks atrocious and the only back I think can even be successful in their system is Best playing that scatback/wr role that Sproles fills.

Yet still getting paid.
Really driving this home aren't ya. Here ill rephrase so you can stop wasting your time. I find it almost 100% likely that Kevin Smith will play for no one next year. Excluding football leagues north and south of the continental United States. He isn't worth whatever you have to pay him to play for your team. Including the Lions with two injured RBs.

Bell is the best back. I would not be surprised to see his role increasing. LeShoure is not that good, and as I said a million times this coaching staff hates Smith. Smith is not the type of back they are looking for.

Bell is the least talented back on the roster. Detroit is lost.

When I started this thread--I did so because I wasn't sold on Leshoure being a better back than Smith. After 2 games--(against easier competition than Smith got this year--Leshoure got the titans and the vikings, smith got the rams and niners)--Leshoures numbers are garbage. Smith was getting better yards per carry--and on top of that--the Lions are 0-2 with Leshoure being the feature back. Fact of the matter is that, Detroit was a better team last year--and a better team the first 2 games this year--with Kevin smith in there. Yet, Detroit still wants to ride Leshoures jock. To all of those people who say that Smith "isn't that good"--I agree. He isn't that good--but Leshoure is worse. He only has value because Detroit is choosing to bench Smith in hopes of him turning into some stud. Even if you don't like Smith--nobody with a halfway decent IQ can tell me that he looks any better than Smith in his first 2 games.
