Lets talk mens premium underwear , shall we? Plus now with socks. (1 Viewer)

Any suggestions based on the following:

  • I wear mostly undies that smash my junk because I work around teenage kids and wear shorts all day. I do not want my outline or tip visible through my shorts.
  • Smell. Cotton is the best for not leaving my junk smelling like budussy on hot days, but not very supportive.
Good old urban dictionary.

Tommy John briefs are awesome. I started wearing them a couple months back and I'm never going back. Heck, I'm even sleeping in these things they are so comfy.

any advice on the undershirt front? i'm having a hard time finding something that fits well, not overly heavy, and doesn't draw up after a time or 2 in the dryer...
Had great luck with jcpenny Stafford v neck tee's.
Yeah that used to be my go-to undershirt, but the last couple of packs just haven't been the same quality. Same goes for their dress shirts...
Jcp changed a lot a little over a year ago abd went back to the same old garbage

I noticed that gold toe white socks suck now too. Bums me out if what you say is true. I loved the Stafford tee's.

I got two pair of Duluth for Christmas. I plan on giving the first one a go on Monday.
UPDATE?!!
90 minutes in and its like I'm wearing a cloud.

The real test comes when I'm 12 hours in and things get crusty.
12 1/2 hours in and still feeling amazing. Day 2: I wear pair #2.

Next scheduled update: Sometime in day 3, normal boxers.
So, I wasn't really going to update, but here I am back to normal boxers and I just picked my underwear out of my ###. I may need to invest in some additional pairs.

Thats what hooked me . Going back to regulars

This place has really gone downhill since guys starting paying 40 bucks for a pair of freaking underwear.
Oh come on! It shows that we have money to burn (are we not FBGs?) and like our stuff to feel good.

I went to a place called Clarks to buy socks. 6 pairs of nice dress socks for 30.00. Life time guarantee for holes etc.

Uniqlo makes great basic underwear and undershirts. Their airism underwear is comparable to Ex-Oficico, but at a cost of only $12.90 each.

They also have decent undershirts that aren't too short and don't seem to shrink instantly after being washed once or twice. The shirts themselves are $12.90 for a pack of two of them.

Another vote for jockey - they have a premium outlet not too far from my house.. seems like the most reasonable alternative, but maybe I'll have to check these others out and report back

Thanks, I decided to give the Champion's a chance and ordered some via the intertubes, I'll report back after wearing them.
First time wearing the Champion's today, not a life changing experience compared to the tried and true Fruit of the Loom stuff I've been wearing, but still nice.

I'm sure it's not unique to the Champions, but I liked the wide elastic band. It did a better job keeping my t-shirt tucked inside the briefs (as all experienced FFA'ers know to do).

These are the "Smart Temp" ones, and the fabric did feel cool to the touch and a slight bit silky - so not a bad fabric at all to have pressed up against your nuts all day. I approve.

The room in the pouch is perhaps a bit on the snug side, then again I seem to have that problem with any pair of briefs so no point deductions.

One of these days I'll try one of the $30 a pair brands mentioned elsewhere in this thread, but for now these were a nice upgrade.

I recommend checking eBay if you're looking to save a few bucks - people buy them on sale and flip on eBay for a profit but still under retail - so often a win/win.

The used ones are going for bottom dollar

Usually you pay double for that kind of action, Cotton.

I was in Duluth in August. I stopped by the Trading Co. and picked up some Buck Naked boxer briefs. Not the type with jade in them (duh). They're great, equivalent to the Ex Officios in my opinion.

ETA: I rode the mountain biking trails there in them, and I've played 2 hours of soccer - they work great even in challenging situations.

Also, I got a pair of their fire hose work pants that are incredible.

I haven't been in any "challenging situations" in my underwear in a long time. I'll pass on the $20 boxers.

Duluth kicks Jockey's ### - just saying.... total convert at paying too much for really awesome boxerbriefs :bag:

Now socks is a much trickier channel to navigate if you are big feet like myself. These cookie cutter fits 8-12.5 don't cut it with my feet. I hate stuffing my 14s in otr type socks

So far in extended size I've like old standby Gold Toe in dress & athletic , Maizi in dress and Darn Tough athletic & hiking

Ex-Officios rule. I now have 10 pair.
They do. 10 pair would allow me to not have to wash underwear for a couple months.
I admit the whole 10 pair thing is kind of a lot, but once you put these babies on, you'll want no other. If you're working out a lot or otherwise messing up your underwear on a daily basis, you'll need quite a few pairs.

The cost to comfort price is well worth it
I don't know...those Deluth Buck Nakeds remind me of Mormon underwear...

I bought a couple of pairs of Feetures Merino Elite Crew socks for outdoor running in cold weather. So damn comfortable that I bought 4 more pairs and I now use them as everyday socks. No seams and they're made and marked specifically to fit your left/right feet. $20/pair which I know is absurd but my feet are so much happier in these things, totally worth it to me.

I've been a Land's End fan for a long time after my wife jettisoned the Sears polyesters I had been accustomed to growing up on. I've got LE underwear that is 20+ years old, stuff lasts forever. I always get a couple new packs every couple years but then never end up throwing out the older ones.

Time for an upgrade perhaps.

I got a couple of pairs of Lu Lu Lemon briefs for Christmas. I know, kinda gay, but they are so much much more comfortable than the Champion and CK boxer briefs I typically where. Would never buy them for myself but happy to get them as a gift.
I'm interested in who bought this for you as a gift.
