**Lions at Ravens** (-3, 42) 1:00 (2 Viewers)

Bills Cowboys Dolphins all have bad losses

if you think this makes the lions garbage you either don’t know ball or you’re overcompensating for something

GLWT
I don't think most people think the Cowboys are serious contenders after that 49er loss. Similar to this Lions team. They were utterly destroyed this whole game. Doesn't mean they won't still end up with 10-12 wins, but I can't see them competing with the 49ers.
I’d say “slow your roll”. SF is the cream of the NFL right now, WHEN HEALTHY. It’s week 7- let’s let the season play out before we crown a winner.

DET still in the conversation with Philly, Dallas, Seattle as likely playoff teams

With their schedule, they better win 10-12 games..

you bringing a lot of negative energy today

hoping life gets better for you brother man

The 49ers just lost to a Browns team with a weak backup QB, not to mention no Nick Chubb.
Obviously anything can happen. I am merely speaking in probabilities and betting odds. I admit Detroit will still finish as a top team in the NFC. The manner of this loss is what is so concerning. That 49ers loss was close and they lost Deebo and CMC. Detroit didn't even look like they belonged in the same league with the Ravens.

Jamo 6 targets 0 catches

9 g 21 targets 5 catches
He looked bad today. Gibbs showed promise. The whole team outside of maybe special teams looked out of sync.

On Gibbs touchdown Jamo was lined up past the ball; he turned to ask the side judge if he was good. didn’t see the snap, got off the line 1.5-2 seconds late

Most of those 6 targets were uncatchable & he def took the wrong choice route at least twice IMO turned in Goff threw the out

it’s looking bad for him rn but hopefully he gets it together we need him

It is at a minimum interesting the Ravens are favored. Most people expect him to be favored at home. But these two teams are distinctly different in terms of consistency.

Detroit has it going on in all three phases. Their offense can beat you in a number of different ways; ground and pound, innovative concepts, chunk splash plays, trick plays. With Montgomery sidelined, I think a lot of people expecting to go away from their run game.

I don’t.

On defense they’re getting stellar work from their D-line. Hutch is the planet that everyone orbits around, but they’re also getting good interior pressure.

The Ravens, of course, still have a ferocious defense themselves. They’ve had difficulty putting together 60 minute performances, but this is a very hard test for Detroit.

The other unit - under a new offensive coordinator - features much more pocket passing than past seasons. LJ can still hurt you with his legs, but his passing is what has been truly extraordinary this season.

I generally don’t make predictions. I don’t know how these guys are gonna do. You saw Cardinals beat the Cowboys, every week good teams lose to below average or mediocre teams all the time. These are two good teams trying to reach greatness.

I will say this: right now in Detroit is playing as well as anyone in the NFL. Hope we have a comprtitive game, I’ll be there in person, and obviously I want the singular experience of going to the railing postgame so I can yell at Jared, Amon-Ra, Hutch, and perhaps even have my wrist dislocated from a jubilant Brad Holmes high five.
I'm running to take DET and the points...and that scares me.

The only way I see BALT winning is if L. Jackson has one of THOSE games where post game, the narrative is "everything finally clicked" for Jackson and BALT. That is:

* Redzone inefficiencies are solved.
* WRs beyond Z. Flowers finally do something.
* L. Jackson runs and throws for multiple TDs.
* DET slips up in some way. Maybe Gibbs still banged up, Laporta with a calf, 2nd game on road in a row, Goff on the road shows up, etc.

As an owner of L. Jackson (and Gibbs) I just don't see this taking place.
I see different ways Ravens can win this game. Primarily through their defense holding Detroit to less than 20 points. Lions struggled to score points on the road against good defenses last year and Baltimore is a good defense. Ravens also play on 100 % grass field.

Ravens also have a very good QB who is also mobile and Lions have struggled against good mobile QBs.

And if a fifty some yard fg is needed to win the game who do you want kicking it Patterson or Tucker?

Lions are playing a confident physical game but the Ravens can play that game too.

Game may be very well determined by which coach makes the best 4th quarter end of the game decisions.
Lions lost this game by not just one of the ways listed but by all of them except for the last one as this game was not remotely close in the 4th quarter.

Thought the Lions might be in trouble in this one. All the praise from the talking heads about the Lions being perhaps the most complete team in the NFL and Superbowl contenders seems empty now . Lions did not play with an edge.

Now it’s the Ravens turn to get hyped up.

It’s a long season Philly and SF got
Dumped on last week for bad losses and Buffalo will get some for losing to NE this week along with the Lions.

I will say Ravens looked like a complete team and their new OC is leading their offense out of the Dark Ages.

If I were Detroit, I'd pick a handful of procedural things from the game to clean up then burn the tape. They are a good team and those kind of games happen sometimes. The Lions got caught in a perfect storm - nobody was beating Baltimore yesterday.

I'm trying to think of a more complete game I've seen the Ravens play and am struggling to come up with one.

Everything worked, except the botched handoff in the RZ. The play-calling was excellent and Lamar Jackson was brilliant. He completed passes to 9 different receivers. The OL was fabulous against a really good Lions front.

The defense was stellar. They didn't allow a 1st down until it was 28-0 and they got really good pressure on Goff against one of the best OLs in the NFL. I believe I read that Baltimore gave up one play over 25 yards to the Lions - one of the league's best at them - and that was only because of a tacked-on 15 yard roughing penalty.

The Lions have a good chance to get well next week against a LV team in disarray. And Baltimore will probably lose 15-13 to Arizona.

  • The Ravens had eight different defenders generate multiple pressures in their Week 7 win over the Lions.

Kyle Van Noy and Odafe Oweh finished tied for the team lead in pressures with 5 each.
  • Gus Edwards (80-yd reception)

    🔹 Yards After Catch: 78
    🔹 YAC Over Expected: +49
    🔹 Top Speed: 20.23 mph

Edwards: 78 yards after catch are the most on a play since Week 8, 2021; 20.23 mph is fastest play as a ball carrier of his career.
  • Lamar Jackson's time to throw of 9.24 seconds on his 12-yd TD to Nelson Agholor is the longest on a touchdown pass since Week 14, 2018, and the 3rd-longest in the NGS era (since 2016).
  • Tip of the cap to OC Todd Monken: The Ravens offense featured five different personnel groupings on their seven-play opening drive resulting in a Lamar Jackson 7-yd TD run.

12 personnel (1 RB, 2 TE) was the only grouping used more than once (3 plays). None included an extra OL.
We got our butts beat.

With 5 g left for both at home and away, we’re 3-1 on the road. No team has won 4.

We’re on to the Raiders with a two game lead in the loss column.
