Lions historically on Thanksgiving (1 Viewer)

This is a thinly disguised Do I start Kitna question.

In recent memory, do the Lions generally play over their heads on Thanksgiving, almost like it's their Super Bowl? To the extent where you'd maybe start a Det player b/c the team gets more fired up to play on that day?

Or is it just like they're playing 1 pm on Sunday and should be treated as such?

Its not as much as they play above their heads as it is their opponents having to travel 3 days after playing a game on Sunday.

With Miami missing 50% of their starters in the defensive backfield, Kitna doesnt have a whole lot of excuses for a bad performance.

I read an article in pro football prospectus this morning that said that both Dallas and Detroit have a lower home winning % on the thanksgiving day game, then the rest of the year.

This is the 16th time in the last 17 years the Lions played on the road right before the Thanksgiving Day game.http://highlightreel.blogs.mlive.com/default.asp?item=284163

Dolphins are 4-1 playing on Thanksgiving; mixed in with Joey Harrington's desire to destroy the Lions, I'd say Miami is in for a good day.
