Jones is available on our waivers and could pick him up but I would need him to play as Portis and McAllister are on bye weeks. I still have Travis Henry but need another back. Thanks guys.

If you want to post a personal team management question in the Shark Pool you have to do a better job of disguising it.

You should try to phrase the question more like this:

"What does everybody think of Kevin Jones going forward?

He got a TD but was relegated to limited duty in his first game back.

Any Lions homers have any information on how Jones faired with his first live action since the injury?"

Just trying to help... honestly.

Kevin Jones was fine

RB Jones Return Positive, Hopes For More WorkMike O'Hara, Detroit News - [Full Article]RB Kevin Jones gave the Lions one of their few bright moments on Sunday. Jones scored the Lions' first touchdown on a 2-yard run in the first quarter. He is returning from an injured left foot. Jones had three carries for 5 yards and gained 16 yards on one pass reception. "I'm happy it happened," Jones said. "I was comfortable. The coaches just have to be comfortable having me in there. Hopefully, I can have a bigger load next week, against Chicago."

Thanks guys and I seriously was not trying to start anything here but time is short for our waiver pick ups ( tomorrow at 5pm) and all I wanted was to make sure nothing else happened with his foot injury acting up. Sorry I misled you as honestly there was no intent to do so!! My Bad!! Thanks again.

Great league you play in. KJ on the WW. Congrats on playing with newbies.
An redundant, overused insult like this coming from a guy with a handle "Brunel4MVP" might not carry a lot of weight... but maybe that's just me. :goodposting:
yeah but I agree with the guy, KJ on the waiver wire in any league is just stupid. Asking if you should pick the guy up is even more stupid. Can you disagree with that?

I have seen this reply a lot. I picked up KJ last week in a 10 team league in its 11th year. I have played every year. It is a 10 team league. In a 10 team league there are lots of guys available...it depends on how you set it up. Why make such negative comments?

great you picked him up before he came back, and scored. Now he'll be starting soon, he shouldn't be available, and if he is my second comment was why ask to get him, it's a no brainer.

Before you guys get all huffy like you are understand one thing, he is the only one left to choose from other than Sammy Morris but this is a TD only league and yardage doeas not count. He wasn't drafted because at the time they were talking of putting him on IR and that would really have been a smart move. We have to bid on these players after the draft and I'm sure he will be sought after now that he has played but the question was if there were any setbacks. If he had a setback what good would he be? Here's what's left so you can see there is not much there. And by the way, I don't want any advice on this list, I just want to show you what I'm talking about. Have a great day and you guys with attitudes must be related to my ex wife!!

The guy was asking for an update on his health after the game--is that such a big deal? I own him and I am curious. There is concern after he exerts himself to see how the foot responds. So, it is the day after his first game and some of us are wondering if there is any news out of the Lions camp about how he feels.

If Anthony is out there and knows anything, I would really appreciate hearing.

Thanks.

The FBG's board seems to have gotten snobby this year. It's really too bad.

To respond to the original question, no, there's nothing I've been able to find on Jones yet. But I'm very curious, too. (I own him in my 14-teamer and he's available on the wire in my 10-teamer.)

I'm not sure why everybody feels the need to puff out their chests about how smart and/or tough their league is anyway? First, we don't care. Second, we don't believe you anyway. Third, even if it is true, WE DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE!Jones seems to be not having any recurrence of injury or even swelling. However, I read in the Free Press that he doesn't expect to be 100% until next season, and of course he's not heading to a team that expects to emphasize the run.I expect Jones has value in any league due to potential and upside, but I suspect PPR leagues would have him rated the highest as catching balls out of the backfield figures to be his greatest likelihood of success.

Damn you voice of reason...!

This from the Detroit Free Press....

After getting just four touches in his season debut Sunday, Kevin Jones said that he hopes to "have more of the load next week."

"I'm comfortable," Jones said. "They just have to be comfortable with having me in there, making sure I'm OK. I guess my safety's first. I've just got to have another good week of practice." Aside from punching it into the end zone on his first carry, Jones' return was uneventful and likely signals that he's at least another week away from being a fantasy factor.

:) Jerk on a roll.

Thanks for the info guys. Much appreciated. This is all I wanted to now. I will grab him now as I lost Duece McAllister last night with what is reported to be a torn ACL. Thanks again.

This is a Kevin Jones thread.

He seemed to come out of the game in good shape. I doubt much will be learned this week. He should gradually get more touches as the year goes on.

It is my personal opinion that he is not a great play this week unless you don't have other options. If you want to ask who to start, or want opinions on your team, please post in the assistant coaches forum, not here. Thanks.

If I see or hear anything about Kevin Jones, I'll post it.

Thanks for getting the thread back on track. Much appreciated.

No one is going to start KJ this week against Chicago unless they're in terrible shape at RB.

Hopefully he'll get more carries so we'll have a better idea of how recovered he is.

I honestly think (again, personal opinion) that he will not be a good fantasy play until after the week 6 bye. Week 5, he might be a low end bye week filler or injury replacement. Of course, this could change. It's just an opinion.

What a disappointment. We expect more from FBG's staff. We want certainty! :D

They've got my Skins that week. Skins will be off of a bye. I probably wouldn't roll KJ out then either, although I'm not making a firm decision until we see what he does against the Bears. If he gets 15 carries and couple of catches this weekend and does something with them, then maybe he's a play against the Skins.

I play in a small league, only 8 teams, and we only carry 16 players. KJ was avaialable in my league too. Certainly not a league full of newbs. So you might want to keep opinions such as these to yourself so you don't come off looking like (more of a ) tool.

Let's all please stick to just Kevin Jones news. Thanks.

Please keep the discussion on the topic of the player at hand. Tons of leagues have wildly different setups. So please don't let something that has zero bearing on the player like whether he's on the WW or not bog it down.Thanks.J

ALERT!!!!

Tommy Harris will not play this weekend.

The Lions should be able to move the ball on the ground this weekend. That is if they even have any running plays

Suddenly, Week 4 against the Bears doesn't seem like such a bad matchup after all.
True. It should be very interesting to see where they place Kitna this week. :bag:
Great news all around for K. Jones. In one of my PPR leagues his owner got impatient and cut him last week. I drafted Tatum Bell just incase that Jones struggled in his comeback. Now I will use a good amount of my free agent dollars to pick him up this week.Harris is a huge loss for the Bears but Mike Martz is still going to pass the ball a lot more than run it.

Jones eventually could be a decent play even if they don't run the ball that much. He can be effective and productive as a receiver out of the backfield. His value is much higher in PPR. Of course, I don't expect much until late October when he might finally be ready to see a majority of snaps.

How can you place Kitna outside of the top3 in ANY week? The guy threw for 450 freaking yards last week in a game they were totally dominated in. The guy threw for 250 the previous week in basically 1 half of play against one of the best Ds in the league.

He is #4 in fantasy scoring right behind every week STUDs Brady/Palmer despite missing half a game!

Do you guys not see it? Detroit 2007 offense = 2001 St. Louis Ram's minus Marshall Faulk. 5,000 passing yards are within reach. If Kevin Jones can come back and be half of what Faulk was, the guy is going to carry teams on his back to a championship.
