ALLEN PARK - Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said today that they'll take a look at linebacker Keith Bulluck, who is an unrestricted free agent. Bulluck is coming off a serious knee injury, though, and Schwartz indicated no decision is imminent.
"We don't know where he is (physically),'' Schwartz said. "He's a guy, among others, we've had our eye on.''
Bulluck, who played under Schwartz at Tennessee, would give the Lions a veteran presence at the weakside linebacker position. Right now, second-year player Zack Follett is the likely starter.
It's possible that a decision on Bulluck won't be made until training camp, when the veteran's health can be more accurately evaluated. The Titans, though, won't give up Bulluck without a fight because they've made it clear they want to re-sign him.
