Highlights: 1. Lions looking to sign Michael Bennett, 2. Mike Martz was holding Tatum back last season, and 3. Trying to read his quotes MAY actually make your head spin.

Tatum: I wasn’t really tripping anyways. I’m trying to be the running back, but that’s what’s up right there though…I heard they might bring in Michael Bennett [unrestricted Free Agent, Tampa Bay]. If they bring him in that’s good too.

So my question is, if they sign Bennett before the draft does that rule out Mendenhall in the 1st or increase the possibility?

I can only assume he got his information from Mike Shanahan and this is an effort to.......well, you all know the rest.

He was smart in keeping his mouth shut though and not burning any bridges. By the looks of things the Lions were his only offer anyway so it made him 1.6 million. Not too shabby......oh, and a chance to start.

If there is one position that doesn't require intelligence, it's RB. Frank Gore got around a 3 on the Wonderlic (maybe it was an 8), and he is one of the best backs in the league, and his teamates love him. His brain obviously allows for superior balance, athletic ability, and coordination that smarter backs may not have. The problem, however, is that Tatum has a few problems. He isn't too smart, he lacks in ability, and he has a girl's name.

Not sure why but I assume everyone in Detriot's FO is saying Mendenhall but Bell is hearing it as Michael. Maybe it's a plot to self motivate?
