What was Brees thinking? Both plays Cooks is uncovered on the right side. First throw is to Watson 10 yards down the field right in the middle, i.e. probably don't get the 2nd play if he catches it. Second throw is to Hightower as a screen and quickly tackled before he can even think of lateraling. Why wouldn't you pass to Cooks, your faster WR? He can A) get 15-20 yards down the sideline on the first throw to setup a better chance on the play and B) use his speed (pretty sure he is the fastest guy they have) on the second throw to try and make something happen.

Yes, I am a greedy Cooks owner, but two throws to guys who can't break it and short over the middle where you can't even get laterals going? I just don't get it. I saw Cooks uncovered and figured 1st throw get out of bounds and 2nd throw see what happens.

I am up by 1 with Brees when saints get the ball back because Brees is above 65%....first down incompletion drops him to 64.7%....then dump off and back up above 65%.... Not me...I couldn't bear to watch. Just kept refreshing the nfl.com game tracker. I have lost too many of those watching live and am calmer in front of the computer for some reason. Now, on to the Super Bowl without ODB. Will be a sig underdog, but am playing with house money so....
