Lions will beat the Saints! (1 Viewer)

I've thought over and over about this one.......................U could be right on with it.

I think the Lions pull off one of the next two, not sure if it's the Saints.

When Orlovsky is Detroit's QB, they've played reasonably well in many of those starts.

Whether they win or not, Megatron remains a must-start and I'm giving serious consideration to starting Kevin Smith above the likes of Larry Johnson and MBIII next week.

Gawd, I hope so... My Lions are horrible, but I really don't want even this crappy squad to be a part of history (and not in a good way). :bye:

And if they don't beat the Saints...they'll have their best shot of the year against the 5-9 Packers in week 17...don't lose hope!

They're going to have to put up a ton of points to beat the Saints, which is fine with me. I'll be starting Drew Brees, Pierre Thomas, and Calvin Johnson in this one for all the marbles. :lmao:

Kevin Smith has been playing well against good defenses. Saints will be the worst run defense Kevin Smith will face since he got the starting job. (Colts have been better lately) I think he's going to make a name for himself next week. Lions are winning.

Lions could have won several games this year and they have something to play for, Saints probably don't. I could definitely see this happening.

When I looked at the schedules for the last month of the season, I figured the Saints game was their best chance for a win.

Saints don't lose to bad teams.
As I look at the Saints' schedule, that statement appears to be made off a sample size of, what, two? (SF, OAK)New Orleans will likely handle Detroit, but throw around universal qualifiers at your own peril.

Agreed with hopes of a shootout for fantasy purposes. The best thing for Brees and Co. owners would be for the Lions to score a lot of points and make it a high scoring affair. The question seems to be if the Saints will show up since their season is over? Hopefully they will be motivated by not wanting to be the team that got beat by the lowly Lions.

Don't forget about Kansas City.I think it's pretty safe to put KC, SF, OAK, and DET in that bottom tier of crap teams in the NFL, with the Lions smelling the worst. The Saints don't have any problem beating up those guys. Thanks for listening.

Thank you for that completely irrelevant bit of information.

Could happen. I will be starting all of my Saints and Lions this week. Of course if you have more than 2 lions you probably are not playing this week.

Kevin Smith being a legit top RB consideration is not relevant information in a thread about the DET game next week? Man, tough crowd.

Yeah, I missed KC in that schedule. I stand corrected there.Such a nice, polite young man.

They've played some very tight games on the road, but other than hanging on to beat KC on a late Brees drive and sealing it with a Thigpen INT, the Saints are 1-6 on the road.

Their pass defense is suspect, Orlovsky is back and clearly is connecting with Calvin Johnson; Kevin Smith is asserting himself, and the Lions should be fired up in their last home game of the season.

The Lions may suck. But why should anyone automatically assume that a Saints team that notoriously falters late in the season, and is out of the playoff hunt, is a lock to go on the road and whip up on a team that's desperate a win?

Lions 31, Saints 24.

No that the playoffs are out, time for Payton to get back to trying to break the passing record. Brees is going to throw for 600 yards.

You make a great point and all, but you failed to mention who the Saints lost to on the road: All teams, who as of yesterday, who were either a lock for the playoffs, or right in the thick of it.Comparing the Lions and their ferocious HFA to the likes of Carolina, Tampa, Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, and Washington isn't a very good argument, is it?

Don't get mad because I poked a hole in your "theory"

Yes, I was aware of who they lost to. But my point is that the Saints have a history of folding late in the season, and IMO are no lock to go on the road and beat anyone. Are they a better team? Yes, and they're very capable of going into Detroit and winning. I just don't see it as a slam-dunk as some others in this thread. The Saints can be passed on, and Brees is 9/12 TD/INT on the road, compared to 19/4 at home. Brees will put up good numbers, but I can easily see him throwing a couple of picks, and CJohnson coming up with at least two big plays. And that could be enough for the Lions to win.

No theorizing here, neg. I produce facts and leave the dreaming/theorizing up to hopeful Lions fans.

Facts are Washington is not that good. So you don't produce facts  Don't get mad because I poked a hole in your "theory"

As a Dolphins fan, I understand your pain, Lions fans, and will be rooting for you on Sunday....

And he could be completely wrong too. Can they stop Pierre Thomas and Colston? I want to see the plan.
