Live postseason game thread (2 Viewers)

I wonder what Orioles management thinks about that Arrieta trade at this very moment. Steve Clevenger had 105 PAs for the O's this year.

I freakin love it, screw him. Arrieta has a god complex now, he can throw under cirvellis chin but oh no we can't do that. Watson my favorite player now!!!!

they didn't do that, they threw at him intentionally..........big difference.

Please stop, you think pitch to circelli "got away". He hit 2 guys!!
it hit his fingers, as they came off the bat.

As you said, under his chin.........pretty sure if he wanted to hit him, he would have.

you need to relax.

I'm not even sure why he's bothering to watch this.

Marlins guy might be my least favorite person on earth.
Why the hate? He seems like he's having a good time and not killing any lions or anything. The orange Marlins shirt is good schtick. It's much better than some John 3:16 advertising. And he always stays until the end of the game.

A pet peeve of mine is people wearing gear of a team that's not even participating in the contest. He's obviously a wealthy individual, maybe even sporting a FBG level of wealth, so I doubt he's struggling to afford some nice threads. There's no reason to wear the Marlins #### outside of it being loud and providing the 'LOOK AT ME!!!!' factor.

Another part of it might be jealousy

It may just be shtick. If that's the case, I'd say it's pretty damn clever.

Of course there's a look at me factor. This is America (except on rare occasions when it's Canada). But the Marlins :lmao: It's hard to think of another professional sports franchise that's that ridiculous.

This is amazing ... this is only the second time the Cubs ever have "advanced" in a postseason. The other was in 2003 when they beat the Braves in the NLDS.

Didn't realize Pittsburgh won 98 games this year. That is some real bull#### that they had to play in this stupid game.

Yep, sure is. The NL really had five really good teams and a big bag of #### though. The Giants had the sixth best record in the NL with 84 wins, the Mets had 90.

Ironically, Pittsburgh's failure to beat up on the Reds and Brewers put them in their predicament. The Pirates played sub-.500 ball against the NL Central doormats while St. Louis went 25-13 and the Cubs went 27-11.

Beltre have hemorrhoids? What's his problem?
He has a ####ed up thumb.

From Newberg:

In the final 22 games of the season, he hit .427/.485/.719 and seemed to come through in just about every big spot. Over that time span, he led the American League in hitting, RBI (33), and OPS (an absurd 1.203).

He did it with a thumb that, when he dislocated it at the end of May, had bone break through the skinand had ligament “turned upside down,” according to Jon Heyman (CBS Sports).

And yet, when he returned to the active roster on June 23, without so much as a rehab assignment and clearly still in some degree of pain (every one of those swings that resulted in him walking slowly around the catcher and around the umpire and back to his perch in the batter’s box was probably a simple effort to give his thumb an extra five seconds to quit barking), guess how many days Beltre didn’t start over the Rangers’ final 92 games?

gallardo at 90 pitches drops off his effectiveness to roughly a slow pitch beer league softball pitcher

hopefully price's poor outing makes him cheaper for the cubs in the offseason. just forget about the regular season stats

Either Alex Gordon is hitting 8th or someone put LSD in my drink and I'm completely ####ed up right now.
The postseason can officially begin. Yost walked up to Conventional Wisdom and rubbed his nuts against it.

Or common sense? :oldunsure:

I realize more of his value comes from his glove, but if they're hitting him 8th in the biggest game of the year so far this year, I have to wonder if they're going to value him as much as another team.

He looked like a #8 hitter tonight

Guy hasn't looked the same since the injury.

Maybe next year if we retain him.

Well, he did have 4 AB. That is definitive.
