An insider (read: employee) for a SF Bay Area pro football team, with whom I spoke to, told me that they had over 120 players from local schools visit their facility today. According to him, the NFL allows local teams to scout/invite either players from local schools or local players (who live) within roughly 50 miles of the facility to visit and work out and meet with team officials.
I'll be honest, this is the first time I've heard of pro football teams doing this.
One note: A surprise visitor to the facility was someone named Drew Olson, QB, UCLA. He's eligible because he's from a local city (Piedmont) even though he played at UCLA...
