Locking in a win. Anyone done this? (1 Viewer)

So I'm up on my opponent by .15. He's done and I have Forte left tonight. I win and I clinched a playoff spot. I see on yahoo I could swap him out for an "empty" spot. A few years ago, a guy in our league had willie Parker break his leg on his first carry for a one yard loss. We also give -2 for a fumble. Am I nuts to just sit forte and lock in a win in case he would actually fumble on his first carry and get hurt? I know it's unlikely but still...

Bush league or smart?

It's bush league AND smart.

But I'd add that you should only do it if you have a player to put in. Otherwise playing an illegal roster isn't cool.

Better hope there isn't a stat correction. The odds of getting negative points from Forte is astronomically low, I wouldn't gamble.

Play Forte, because like said earlier, you need to protect yourself from score changes later in the week. Also Forte is a lock to score some kind of positive points.

Doesn't your league have a total points prize to shoot for?

No in this league it's the single high game. No shot for that. Team is second in points and started 2-6. 6 straight wins. One of the "funniest" seasons ever.

Only time I would think about leaving a spot open would be a defense, when the threat of losing points is more likely than a RB.
