London Game: Den v SF (1 Viewer)

One or two ignorant posts in this thread. To the guy who suggested football wasn't popular in Britain, over 38,000 people attended a pre-game rally in London yesterday and every game to date has sold out quickly - it causes tremendous excitement amongst fans over here. It's also worth pointing out that the field, rather than the weather, has been the major negative issue, though that didn't stop the Saints/Chargers game yielding 69 points. The field has been replaced, as indicated earlier in the thread, with Desso Grass Master (already in use at 4 NFL stadia), so it will be interesting to see how that holds up today as rain is forecast. Saying they shouldn't play in London simply because it rains a lot is fine as long as you're prepared to say they shouldn't play in Pittsburgh/Chicago/Green Bay/New York etc etc because of inclement weather - it's the field that needs to be sorted out, not the weather.

For those wanting to check on the weather, as I have said in previous years, the place to check for the forecast is http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/se/...st_weather.html , and for the current rainfall situation check out the rainfall radar at http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/index.html
For some strange reason, Lord Lucan, when I read your post, in my mind it was with the voice of Michael Caine. Nice post on refocusing what the true issue is with the playing environment.

So according to link #2, rainfall in the area is only 'very slightl' or 'slight?' Amirite?

Are we in danger of overemphasizing the weather in this thread?

Personally, I'm viewing the Denver passing offense as being pretty dependent on timing / precision. If it's gonna be wet, I'm sitting Orton and Lloyd but playing Gore.

This could be overreaction or not. What do others think?

 A lot of ignorance in this thread about football fans on the other side of the pond. 38k for a freeking prep rally!? That sounds better then some teams have in the seats on game day. I know more then a few Brits that have a blast at the games and I wouldn't be shocked if a failing franchise ends up moving over there sooner rather then later.

Also a game has been played in Mexico. Cards vs 49'ers and it drew over 100,000. Contrary to some fears they managed to enter the country without being kidnapped/murdered by drug cartels.
