You jest but you should see some of the ####### comments on the Twitter of the main post for the video. People are idiotsMaybe the old dude sat during the national anthem so he deserved the beat down for not honoring the flag.
Just kidding. The younger guy is a thug, simple as that.
The guy is obviously an ####### meathead looking for trouble. In a vacuum though, is standing at a football game a big deal? Sometimes is hard to see, what’s wrong with standing?Boston said:Short video but you just know he was looking for a beef...standing all game then unloading on someone twice his age...looks like it is not the first time he has thrown his fists either...I hope this punk gets taken to the mat by the authorities...
All depends on what is going on with the whole crowd...if everyone is standing it's great...but if you are one of the only ones doing it and you are blocking someone else's view that usually isn't too cool...I get the vibe this kid wasn't innocently standing and having fun rooting for the home team...he was doing it with attitude which lead directly to the idiocy he is now in legit trouble for...The guy is obviously an ####### meathead looking for trouble. Obviously the guy is an ######, but I don’t think standing is a big deal.
He caught some legit shots...Looks like the poor punchee was spitting teeth?
He probably was instigating things, but even if everyone isn’t standing I don’t have a problem with it in general. Again, not defending this guy. I’m just saying when I’m sitting, every pass or everytime the back breaks through the line, everyone’s hands go up and I can se anything. It sucks. Going to a game is expensive, if I can’t see then I’m going to stand. All depends on what is going on with the whole crowd...if everyone is standing it's great...but if you are one of the only ones doing it and you are blocking someone else's view that usually isn't too cool...I get the vibe this kid wasn't innocently standing and having fun rooting for the home team...he was doing it with attitude which lead directly to the idiocy he is now in legit trouble for...

I guess this is the one positive of social media, you do something this callous to an old man, it's forever attached to you. Looks like he'll have to sell the old Trans Am.
It's everywhere, but I'm using the barstool link; https://www.barstoolsports.com/philadelphia/hopefully-this-scumbag-panthers-fan-finds-himself-in-jail-after-sucker-punching-this-older-eagles-fan-last-night

Nah, it’s a little different because of the angles. When sitting, you’re looking out. When standing, you’re looking at a downward angle. If everyone is standing, don't you still have the same problem with hands going up?
i loved when it first came out and every site was saying "neither were Eagles fans". the uproar would have been funny, but in all honesty, i have seen things like that and it is customary for the surrounding crowd to pummel the chump and security maybe join in. I thought this was an unwritten rule, maybe it only applies to certain areasDr. Octopus said:I just wish some one in the surrounding area would have popped that kid as he was walking out. It's one thing to hit the guy when he was no threat, but to hit him two or three times more when he was just covering up makes him unfit to live in this society.

No. 1 Fan of Cam Newton? No, that's a Cam "Newton" jersey he is wearing. Cam "Newton" is the quarterback of the Panthers. He's just a fan or Cam "Newton".
The way our stadium is built, you are looking downward no matter what. How is your stadium designed?Nah, it’s a little different because of the angles. When sitting, you’re looking out. When standing, you’re looking at a downward angle.
This only happens when the aggressor is the out of town loud mouth supporting the visiting team and taunting the home crowd. Dude was a ####head, and that's not for argument. I've never been to an NFL game but every college game I've been to, which is many, I've stood nearly all game. If you want to sit and watch the game like it's your living room, shouldn't you just get a box? I'm obviously asking out of ignorance, since I've never been to a pro game. If you want to stand the whole game go to standing room only, or an aisle, or the concourse. The person s behind you brought tickets for seats, so did you. Have you been through security lines at sporting events? Although not likely, I would say there is a non-zero chance for the idiot to have a weapon. In a game so you know there's no chance the idiot has a weapon. I would beat the #### out of him.
We have seats in the last row of the lower bowl for this very reason. We stand all game, and no can ##### about it because no one is behind us.Dude was a ####head, and that's not for argument. This is fine. Takes into account others around you.We have seats in the last row of the lower bowl for this very reason. We stand all game, and no can ##### about it because no one is behind us.
Very unlikely but not impossible. Without a doubt worth the risk to protect some old dudeHave you been through security lines at sporting events? Although not likely, I would say there is a non-zero chance for the idiot to have a weapon.
It's hard to completely avoid people who constantly stand at a football game.
The old dude somehow walked all the way up the upper deck - also nice hyperbole with the wheelchair comment. I would offer to switch seats if he’d like, no problem. If I bought that space, I reserve my right to stand. If you want to stand the whole game go to standing room only, or an aisle, or the concourse. The person s behind you brought tickets for seats, so did you. Sit.
Would you stand in front of someone in a wheel chair. Maybe the old dude could not stand. You have no right to obstruct someone else's view.
Seems pretty clear from the video that they were high up in the stadium and had a downward viewing angle already without standing.Nah, it’s a little different because of the angles. When sitting, you’re looking out. When standing, you’re looking at a downward angle.
i've never seen a young person cheap shot an old man around a bunch of strangers, but i have seen plenty of tifts between "their own". People love to give Philly a bad rap, but there are plenty of unwritten rules like this that are kind of an expectation. it is easier if someone has a Cowboys jersey on, sure, but it has happened multiple times in different situations. i forget the story and i think it was a few months ago, but some dude beat up some kids in the Gayberhood who were picking on a gay couple. They interviewed him and he basically said he didn't do anything special, that is just kind of what you do.This only happens when the aggressor is the out of town loud mouth supporting the visiting team and taunting the home crowd. I have never seen anyone beat up "one of their own", even if deserved.
Do you have the right to hold up a sign or umbrella? The old dude somehow walked all the way up the upper deck - also nice hyperbole with the wheelchair comment. I would offer to switch seats if he’d like, no problem. If I bought that space, I reserve my right to stand.
You bought a seat, not a space. And what do people do with seats? They sit.If I bought that space, I reserve my right to stand.
Umbrella, no.Do you have the right to hold up a sign or umbrella?
I rented a space and a seat. Do you guys never go to games? You bought a seat, not a space. And what do people do with seats? They sit.
Of course. Just the other day I went on stub hub to see if I could find good spaces for an upcoming concert.I rented a space and a seat. Do you guys never go to games?
Do you really never stand during a football game? I call BS.Of course. Just the other day I went on stub hub to see if I could find good spaces for an upcoming concert.
Never. Especially during the anthem.Do you really never stand during a football game? I call BS.
Lots of gray area on the sitting/standing issue, but I agree with the above. There are times when everyone stands based on game situation but to do so when everyone is sitting it’s inarguably a #### move.
Deflect. That's what I figured.Never. Especially during the anthem.
You haven't been to enough NFL games then.Galileo said:This only happens when the aggressor is the out of town loud mouth supporting the visiting team and taunting the home crowd. I have never seen anyone beat up "one of their own", even if deserved.
I'm like Liam Neesom if I have a plastic fork. Anything can be deadly.Galileo said:Have you been through security lines at sporting events? Although not likely, I would say there is a non-zero chance for the idiot to have a weapon.
I’ve seen signs. I just haven’t seen them all game as a constant obstruction like someone standing would be. Why do you draw the distinction at an umbrella?bigmarc27 said:Umbrella, no.
