Look at this ####### pummel an old man at a football game (1 Viewer)

Maybe the old dude sat during the national anthem so he deserved the beat down for not honoring the flag.

Just kidding.  The younger guy is a thug, simple as that.

You jest but you should see some of the ####### comments on the Twitter of the main post for the video. People are idiots

Short video but you just know he was looking for a beef...standing all game then unloading on someone twice his age...looks like it is not the first time he has thrown his fists either...I hope this punk gets taken to the mat by the authorities...
The guy is obviously an ####### meathead looking for trouble. In a vacuum though, is standing at a football game a big deal?  Sometimes is hard to see, what’s wrong with standing?

Obviously the guy is an ######, but I don’t think standing is a big deal.

All depends on what is going on with the whole crowd...if everyone is standing it's great...but if you are one of the only ones doing it and you are blocking someone else's view that usually isn't too cool...I get the vibe this kid wasn't innocently standing and having fun rooting for the home team...he was doing it with attitude which lead directly to the idiocy he is now in legit trouble for...

He probably was instigating things, but even if everyone isn’t standing I don’t have a problem with it in general. Again, not defending this guy. I’m just saying when I’m sitting, every pass or everytime the back breaks through the line, everyone’s hands go up and I can se anything. It sucks.  Going to a game is expensive, if I can’t see then I’m going to stand.

Supposedly the internet already found him and he deleted his Instagram (like that'll do anything, idiot)... Not gonna post his name bc the internet occasionally gets this stuff wrong.

I guess this is the one positive of social media, you do something this callous to an old man, it's forever attached to you. Looks like he'll have to sell the old Trans Am.

It's everywhere, but I'm using the barstool link; https://www.barstoolsports.com/philadelphia/hopefully-this-scumbag-panthers-fan-finds-himself-in-jail-after-sucker-punching-this-older-eagles-fan-last-night
Love the comments:

"I'm looking at his home on google maps street view. His lawn looks like ####. There's also a Camaro parked in the driveway"

"I've gone to jail for less. "

"I'm willing to bet his girl has webbed feet, too. Looks like the kind of broad who spends all day posting inspirational quotes on Instagram "

:lmao:

If everyone is standing, don't you still have the same problem with hands going up?

I just wish some one in the surrounding area would have popped that kid as he was walking out. It's one thing to hit the guy when he was no threat, but to hit him two or three times more when he was just covering up makes him unfit to live in this society.
i loved when it first came out and every site was saying "neither were Eagles fans". the uproar would have been funny, but in all honesty, i have seen things like that and it is customary for the surrounding crowd to pummel the chump and security maybe join in. I thought this was an unwritten rule, maybe it only applies to certain areas

  couldn't be more wrong. Guarantee if that happens in Philly the security and surrounding fan pummel the #### out of that kid. And all enjoy

Nah, it’s a little different because of the angles. When sitting, you’re looking out.  When standing, you’re looking at a downward angle.
The way our stadium is built, you are looking downward no matter what.  How is your stadium designed?

This only happens when the aggressor is the out of town loud mouth supporting the visiting team and taunting the home crowd.  I have never seen anyone beat up "one of their own", even if deserved.

Dude was a ####head, and that's not for argument.  I've never been to an NFL game but every college game I've been to, which is many, I've stood nearly all game.  If you want to sit and watch the game like it's your living room, shouldn't you just get a box?  I'm obviously asking out of ignorance, since I've never been to a pro game.  Maybe this should be a separate thread.

If you want to stand the whole game go to standing room only, or an aisle, or the concourse.  The person s behind you brought tickets for seats, so did you.  Sit.

Would you stand in front of someone in a wheel chair.  Maybe the old dude could not stand.  You have no right to obstruct someone else's view.

In a game so you know there's no chance the idiot has a weapon. I would beat the #### out of him.
Have you been through security lines at sporting events?  Although not likely, I would say there is a non-zero chance for the idiot to have a weapon.

We have seats in the last row of the lower bowl for this very reason.  We stand all game, and no can ##### about it because no one is behind us.

Very unlikely but not impossible. Without a doubt worth the risk to protect some old dude

It's hard to completely avoid people who constantly stand at a football game. The puncher was a d-bag, but the other guy might not have had realistic expectations going in. The big screens help, but that can depend on where you're sitting. I prefer my living room or a bar. Living room 1st though, cause I don't have to bother wearing pants.

The Panthers statement was good and I hope the puncher is prosecuted fully.

So if they stand the whole game if forces the people behind them to stand and of course the chain reaction that follows.  It's a #### move, but then this guy was a #### so...

It's why I very rarely like attending concerts or games.

The old dude somehow walked all the way up the upper deck - also nice hyperbole with the wheelchair comment. I would offer to switch seats if he’d like, no problem. If I bought that space, I reserve my right to stand.

Seems pretty clear from the video that they were high up in the stadium and had a downward viewing angle already without standing.

i've never seen a young person cheap shot an old man around a bunch of strangers, but i have seen plenty of tifts between "their own". People love to give Philly a bad rap, but there are plenty of unwritten rules like this that are kind of an expectation. it is easier if someone has a Cowboys jersey on, sure, but it has happened multiple times in different situations. i forget the story and i think it was a few months ago, but some dude beat up some kids in the Gayberhood who were picking on a gay couple. They interviewed him and he basically said he didn't do anything special, that is just kind of what you do.

and of course not all people in the Philadelphia area would do this, but i would be more shocked to see something like that occur and nobody do anything

There are always a few a holes who insist on standing the whole game to prove they are super-fans who care more about the team than anyone else. Has nothing to do with trying to get a better view, purely an “I can so I will, and I hope someone says something to me so I can get into it with them” move. There are times when everyone stands based on game situation but to do so when everyone is sitting it’s inarguably a #### move.

Student sections at college games are the exception.

Do you have the right to hold up a sign or umbrella?

Marc is my buddy so it's tough for me to disagree with him but I do.

I don't understand why anyone would want to stand (in front of a seat) for 3+ hours.

Personally, on the rare occasion I go to games I arrive several hours early to tailgate. By the time the game starts Ive already been standing for several hours and it would great if I could sit in my seat and watch the game.

There are times when standing is acceptable or even encouraged, but if there's an old couple or kid behind you, do you not feel compelled to be a considerate person and sit so they can see?

You haven't been to enough NFL games then.

I'm like Liam Neesom if I have a plastic fork. Anything can be deadly.

Umbrella, no.

Youve never seen signs at a game?
I’ve seen signs. I just haven’t seen them all game as a constant obstruction like someone standing would be. Why do you draw the distinction at an umbrella?

So a thread about a young guy sucker punching an old man has turned in to an FFA pissing contest over whether it is ok to stand at a football game. This place is like a room for full of six year olds when it comes to staying on point.
