Looting in Missouri after cops shoot 18 year old (2 Viewers)

That CNN call from the friend was simply chilling if it is true. You sill would feel terrible for the parents here but it sounds like this young man was not exactly acting like a model citizen at the time or just prior to this incident unfolding.

What a mess.
a lot of he said she said.....im believing the eye witnesses until proven otherwise ( a woman who video taped the aftermath and saw the shooting unfold )
If this is the story as Cooper reported that turns out to be the same as the cop, I can't see any way they would be able to charge him with a thing. It's sad but I will say based on the chief of police nothing will shock me here.
the woman who told that version got that story from the wife of the cop who shot Brown....''allegedly ''

This woman watched the whole shooting...she didnt hear it 3rd hand
and yet another woman on the scene

I don't think this story and the truth are relatives.

This is hilarious. No one from the store called 911 about a robbery. A customer called 911.

FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) – The surveillance tapes allegedly showing Michael Brown robbing a Ferguson market. Friday, for the first time, the owners are speaking out through an attorney about the surveillance video.

The owner of the store dispute the claim that they or an employee called 911, saying a customer inside the store made the call. They also say St. Louis County issues the warrants for the hard drive of surveillance video Friday.

When asked how Ferguson police ended up with the video that the Ferguson police chief issued Friday morning. The attorney said during the course of Ferguson’s investigation they came to the store and asked to review the tape. But it wasn’t until Friday that St. Louis County investigators issued a warrant for the video many of you have already seen.

The attorney for the owners of the store says the owners do not wish to be wrapped up in the middle of this. They are simply complying with police orders and again the attorney wanted to emphasize the 911 call did not come from the owners or an employee.

The attorney says this market has been in the community for a long time and they hope to continue serving this community.

OK so the Owner of the store doesn't want to be involved. He didn't call 911. Fine. All I would like him to do is answer one VERY SIMPLE question:

"Were you robbed by Michael Brown, as the video seems to show? Yes or no?"

How hard is that to answer???
SEEMS to show? What is it about Mr. Brown walking towards the door without paying, then shoving the clerk aside when the clerk approaches him, that makes you think that Mr. Brown did NOT rob the store?

When did Mr. Brown surrender?

As it goes with such cases, it's gonna take months to get a "verdict" on what happened. Ferguson MS will probably be off the map of the map as a city in the USA by then.

CNN showing this poor photography got hit with gas and is struggling to come around. :/

Did you not watch the video you linked there?

This is very different from the Rodney King Riots. Back then, the video of King being beaten down by police created immediate outrage, but the community did not riot right away- they gave the system a chance to work. Only a year later, when the police were acquitted in the first trial by an all white jury, did the riots start.

In this case, the protestors aren't giving the system a chance to work. As of now, we can all agree on one thing: the facts aren't clear. There's a lot we don't know. But the protestors have already made up their minds.

Oh I don't know about partisian but definitely less than the other ones. I will give Shepard Smith some credit for trying to portray how stupid EVERYBODY is acting including the media. I am glad that Fox News is using their only sensible person to give breaking news instead of the O'Reilly or Hannity

Of course it is.

This guy on CNN not the Tapper guy is part of the problem right now. Some say he is trying to report the truth but he is more and more coming of as a guy trying to make all about him. I mean when they gave him a gas mask he was joking around about trying to do reporting with it on. Now the cops are telling him to get out because there was a shooting and he is still there.

Thanks for answering the question no one asked, as usual.
This is also different from the 1968 riots in Chicago. If anyone thought these two were similar, I'm here to say they are not.
Gee, you guys are hilarious!

The difference that I brought out is important, because in this case the protestors have made their minds up way too early, IMO. They believe:

1. Michael Brown was murdered by a policeman.

2. The policeman murdered Michael Brown because Brown was black, and the policeman is white.

3. The police have deliberately tried to cover this up because they don't care about black people.

At least that's the message I'm getting from the protestors.

We can thank the news media (Fox, CNN, MSNBC) and social media for that.

Tear gas is classified as a chemical weapon and cannot be used in warfare, but it can be used against American citizens who are exercising their Constitutional right to peacefully assemble. Neat-o.

Why does that matter?

What's the shtick with Captain Ron here? Am I right that he's not a local cop, but just some highway patrol guy who the cops basically dragged into this so there would be a black cop to speak to the crowds? Isn't that really obvious pandering?

"Johnson didn't provide additional details, but his remark confirmed what many in Ferguson have been saying all along: the protesters who have turned the nightly demonstrations into tense confrontations with heavily armed police officers aren't local residents."

Clearly all the trouble makers are vampires from other towns,

He is probably victim to that petty theft a lot and didn't think it was a big deal. Hence, he didn't call 911. Whomever did over reacted. The police didn't care either until they connected the dots of the proximity of the location and the description of the guy. Then they got a warrant and the video for pure PR. Police aren't normally getting a warrant to view a video for stolen swisher sweets and a guy getting pushed without injuries or even falling down.

I am a little late obviously, but this story has blown up the last few days.

So what is the official statement from the police and why this happened. What caused this young man to be fatally shot in the head.

Did he reach for an officers gun? Attack a police officer? If that is what happened. WTF is going on. Once you do that your most likely going to be shot and possibly killed. So what is the official story from the police.

Did this young man have a previous record? Did the officer in question have any previous issues or is this the first time he has used his gun on duty. I the crux of all this violence the fact he supposedly put his hands straight up in the air to surrender and was shot down in cold blood? Who is this eyewitness? What is their background and how reliable is that account compared to the police officers involved.

The riots and violence is so out of hand at this point. Shame on those people. It's insane what is going on...just insane.

Todem, the answers to your questions are 'we don't know'
Wow.....no wonder there is civil unrest. But my goodness why can't it be peaceful protest. Why do these vampires have to do this crap. It's unreal.

When can we expect a full response from the Police on the circumstances surrounding this? When a kid get's shot 6 times you better have a full detailed account of WTF happened. I gotta believe the kid really had to have done something pretty stupid to end up dead. Assumptions being made are not helping anyone. Both sides.

When rioting and looting were just a baby..bless their little hearts.....

I don't know where the protestors get their energy...If I kept going like that I would have a hard time getting up and going to work the next day.

It's overreacting to call the cops when your pizza isn't delievered on time. It's not overreacting to call the cops after witnessing blatant theft and a store proprietor being manhandled by a much larger guy.

If people simply allowed such instances to occur because calling the police would be overreating then more of those instances would occur and the area would quickly devolve into a craphole.

Do we know that a theft occurred?

Hey Lutherman: I'm not a lawyer. Can you please explain to me why it matters who called the police?
The store owners put out that statement through their lawyer to try and convince the rioters and looters that they didn't do anything that contributed to the death of Mike Brown or released any information that would strengthen the story of the police. They were trying to appease the people who were a threat to destroy their store.

It didn't work.

Tell me more about these assumptions.
