Loyalty Order - NFL Team or Fantasy Team? (1 Viewer)

What comes first in terms of loyalty?

I have Michael Vick on one of my fantasy teams. They are playing my beloved Bills. Do I start Vick anyway? Or do I bench him for a backup out of NFL team loyalty? Assume the backup is a tier 2 - tier 3 QB.

I play my best line-up always. HOWEVER, I always cheer for my team. If I have guys playing against my team, I hope they have a good game as long as my NFL team wins. Pretty straightforward for me.

Fantasy. BUT, I never draft Miami players or Seattle players so I don't have to root for 'em. So... technically NFL? Now I'm confused.

Easy one for me. Fantasy team all the way. Cowboys fan for life, but always been more of a fan of players, and the Cowboys can never have all my favorites.

Football team....

But, I play in free leagues. If :moneybag: was at stake, then I'd start anyone.

For instance, I sat McFadden for BJGE last week (which actually turned out to be a good play) because I couldn't even stand the thought of feeling good about McFadden scoring a TD or something.

I was a Cowboys fan LONG before FF.

So, I would rather have my 'Boys win than my FF teams win. BUT, i will start my best players in FF no matter what.

I voted before reading the initial post. I root for the Bucs over my fantasy team, but I'd never bench a player because I don't want to root for them.

It used to be my NFL team but I now I am much more concerned with/loyal to my fantasy teams/players.

Football team all the way. I start my best options but don't always root for them. It can be bittersweet. Last week for example, started Foster against the Steelers but hoped he didn't do well. When he tore them up it was a small consolation but I would've taken 60 total yds for a steelers victory.

Always start my best team. Just played the guy with Forte and I'm a Bears fan. I cheered for every single one of Forte's yards regardless. I just had to hope my team made up for it. Never once would I wish a yard less for anyone on my favorite NFL team.

Is who you root for going to impact Vick's performance?Just start the guy who is your best fantasy option, root for your team on Sunday, check the fantasy scores on Monday.

Exactly. The poll wording is tough--my loyalty is to my NFL team whether I bet against them or not. Only time it can get awkward is when I'm at Panthers Stadium for a game when an opponent is scoring for my fantasy team. Obviously I'm hoping for a game in the 40's--just have to refrain from cheering when the opposing player wins my league match! ;) ..or maybe not. Surprising how many people at the stadium are also playing FF.

If one of my players is facing my team I root for him to score as long as my NFL team wins. If my player scores 2 TDs and my favorite team wins 34-31 the everybody wins

This. Poll is flawed.

That's the worst thing you can do. If you do that and Vick goes off, you're now having a terrible day as you hurt your fantasy team AND your NFL team lost. You start Vick and either way you're happy with at least 1 result and potentially both (Bills win AND Vick has a great statistical game).

I assumed the poll was going to be who do you root for harder.

In that case it's definitely my NFL team.

However I would never bench a good player on my fantasy team because they were playing against my NFL team.

To me one has nothing to do with the other.
