LT-Buy, Hold, or Sell (1 Viewer)

Alot has been written about LT on this board. He has the toe injury, and the line hasn't exactly come together yet. He started slow last year and came on in the 2nd half of the season. Are you buying, holding, or selling?

Sold him week after he got the toe injury for Steven Jackson. He apparently reinjured it in Miami. I say sell while you can.

Two weeks ago I was sell (while LT's value was still that of a top 5 pick). Right now today? Hold. His value is already beginning to dip and I think owners are better holding on and hoping he heals up if they can't switch him out for his "when healthy" value.

Made a similar deal. LT and S. Holmes for Roth, S-Jax and B. Edwards after week 2. Haven't looked back!

I bought last week. (In case anyone is wondering it was -Bush, Turner, Moss- for -LT, AJ, Lendale-)

I also swung a deal for Sproles with another owner just in case!

I don't have him in any leagues and would not take him unless it was a sweet deal and Sproles was involved as well. Toe injuries tend to linger and he hasn't looked as dynamic when he has been on the field.

too late to sell IMO. I was an idiot and traded MBIII and F.Jones this offseason for LT. Luckily I have Jackson, Portis, and Turner to start in this dynasty league, but still, a HORRIBLE trade none the less... :goodposting:

I am in the AVOID camp! Have not owned him since 2006 when I had second pick and the first pick took SA. I did win that league that year. Have not had a chance to own him since! Not a bad situation to be in either.

I sold in the offseason for MJD, Cotchery and Anthony Gonzalez.

Today though, I'd be buying. Unless he misses complete games, I think he'll finish top 10 this season and next.

Carried LT during the game, played Slaton and AP instead. As soon as I saw that little limp in his step coming to the sideline I sold him. At that price I can't afford to keep him. I still think he will get better and have a good close of the year, but right now I bet he shuts down for 2 weeks to get 100%. Without LT the Bolts might not make the playoffs, and if he is just 80% they definitely won't make the playoffs.

And by the way Sproles is not the answer, Hester is. Sproles is a change of pace back like Bush or Faulk. If you play him every down you'll lose.

Just my opinion.

Swamp

Since I got Ronnie Brown and Slaton to rotate, definitely Holding, he plays the PATs (gave 4 TDs to Brown), BUF (gave 3 rush TDs to ARI), and NO (see AD stats tonight) right before the bye. Then gets to rest the toe before he plays KANSAS CITY twice (once in the playoffs which will def help), the same team that gave up 3 TDs to Deangelo, then off to Indy, the Raiders and ATL. Only two tough D's in PIT and Tampa. He should produce. MIA is turning out to be a stout Run Defense, so not too surprised they stopped him.

I'm thinking about trading him for DeSean Jackson and either Turner or Forte. I'm still having a hard time letting go, though. He could easily surprise us all and come back into form.

No one will give you turner and jackson or forte and jackson. If they have offered that and you havent accepted then I think you need to seriously reconsider that quickly. You have one more week of sub par or average play and you wont get an offer close to that again. He may not be done or a has been but he clearly is not the old LT and those two guys you mentioned have so much more upside.

He has a pretty cupcake schedule coming up.

I bought two weeks ago (Portis, Chambers for LT, AJohnson) and felt pretty good about it last week. This week.. well.. I got the best side of it WR wise..

I'm about to buy him in another for Jacobs, so his value has definately fallen.

Gonna have to call you on that one.Turner and Forte are fully at their upside right now. There's little to no room for their numbers to improve (but lots of room for them to fall).

LT's upside is the best player in FF, by a wide margin.

I agree, but I'm thinking I'm holding in the leagues I have him and wouldn't get enough to deal him, but not buying in the leagues where I don't have him. HOLD

I own him in a redraft ppr and a no-penalty keeper (ie, we can keep for as long as we want).

I am on the fence. I honestly dont feel like I could get the value in trade, and I just can't see his toe heeling enough for him to return to form. I think he's a "hold" situation, simply b/c your ROI would be so low.

I'm worried we're seeing him pull a Shaun Alexander... :ptts:

What RBs would u swap him for?Gore?

BJacobs?

CJohnson?

MTurner?

Forte?

thinking of trading him with Megatron for a different RB+WR combo

These are my thoughts exactly. There's a part of me that would love to trade him. But if I trade him, I have to get some sort of value in return, including a RB. Gore may be the only RB I'd trade him straight up for in my league. I like Chris Johnson's schedule down the stretch and thought about trying to pair one of my extra QB or WR for Manning or Fitz.LT/Ben for CJohnson/Manning. Or LT/Cotch for CJohnson/Fitz.

But honestly, considering what LT has done for my team over the past 4 years, it's hard to sell.

I started the year with LT and Westbrook in a large dynasty league. With some rough luck the first few weeks, I decided I would attempt to trade one or both of them, with very little interest.

I recently dealt Westbrook along with Alge Crumpler and Julius Peppers for Andre Johnson, Chris Cooley and Robert Mathis. This is a WR friendly PPR league, which requires 0-2 RBs to start, 3-5 WRs. So arguably, AJ is worth about the lines of Gore, Turner, or other lesser RB1s. I assume LT would have garnered the same trade - the team inquired about both. Luckily, I drafted Chris Johnson as a late 1st, so I'm now starting LT and CJ most weeks.

At this point, I'll probably keep LT and deal with possibly getting no value for him after the season. I think he'll improve enough for me to have a chance to win the championship.

The main problem is the lack of teams that would want LT.

ive been holding for a cpl weeks now. in a dynasty league and there is an offer on the table for MBIII straight up. since its dynasty, i like getting younger. but, MBIII's playoff schedule is not easy and jones seems to be doing well.

it's tough to let go of him....

Oh dude. Barber is 25 years old and a key cog in one of the top three most prolific offenses right now. Even if we knew LT's foot would be touched by the finger of God and heal completely tomorrow - you're breaking even in this deal. How often do you have a chance to swap out a top 5 RB on the late side of his peak for a top 5 RB at the mid/beginning of his peak?

I just dealt him for a fifth in '09. If the owner makes the bowl this year than it becomes a third. Good riddence, I'll play CJ3 or McGahee.

Offered Matt Forte for him in a redraft 10 teamer and was turned down. So I guess that particular owner still believes at least a little bit. Was trying to see if i could snag him at an affordable rate. If the poster above me really traded him for a 5th round pick, that's pathetic.

This is a horrible trade for you IMO. Taking the chance that all you can get out of LT at this point is a rookie LB isn't a good move.

 You guys are selling at his lowest value right now after he re-injured his toe nobody is going to give you much. He can only go up from here, and his schedule gets A LOT better.

I'm currently brokering two deals for LT.

LT/Berrian/2nd rounder (rookie)

for

DMC/R.William(det)/1st rounder (rookie)

and

LT

for

ADP

The first owner has agreed to do that deal, I'm still talking with the Peterson owner.

That is a god awful trade for you.

Agree, that is a pretty terrible trade. Even with the injuries LT is the #15 rb in most formats. That is still a #1 back, and he has huge upside. McGahee is injured and losing carries to McClain, whose is a force.

LT is tied for #10 with Westbrook in my non-PPR league.

Unless a player is on IR, his value can always go lower.

Sold him in a start 2 QB dynasty/salary-cap league after week 3. Received MJD, Housh, Scheffler, Bulger(cut him..ouch) and a first/second/third round rookie pick(I dealt him to an 0-5 team, so this should pay-off) for him. I'd hold in re-draft, however...

I'M FLOATING HIM for peanuts in my redraft. 1-4 after brutal injuries and I'll take practically anything I can get. This guy's going to be banged up for a long time and I can't wait. In three leagues over 10 years, this is the first season I've ever had the #1 overall in a redraft. Ouch.
