LT owners (1 Viewer)

Living out East, I hardly ever get S.D. Games. I follow the games on stat tracker, but LT isnt putting up LT Like numbers lately.

Please save me the :goodposting:

Are "2006 LT like" games in the future? is it time to start other backs? I have had a RB on the Bench outscore LT for 4 weeks now. Crazy talk, I know... As long as I own him, he will start.

I think the good news is that he did just get through a very rough stretch of games.

Upcoming games include

13 Dec 2 @ KAN

14 Dec 9 @ TEN

15 Dec 16 DET

16 Dec 24 DEN

3 favorable matchups maybe 4 with the way TEN has been playing lately.

I am just hoping someone out there has some uplifting news on this situation. Seems like Teams want to make Rivers beat them. Half the time he can, and half the time he can't. Either way it is killing LT's stats.

How is the Sjax doing and Parker? How about Larry Johnson and Frank Gore? Alexander anyone? Everyone can complain about their stud runningbacks, been a tough year for all of them. LT is still near the top in almost all catagories, just got to hope for the best at this point, consistency is down across the board it seems to me.

Play calling and poor OL play is the culprit along with poor QB play (until last week) LT is still great although he is noticeably frustrated

1st time LT owner in a redraft league here. After the draft I was ready to autopilot the line-up and just sit back and count the points. I am concerned because there have been fewer points than I hoped for but he is not underperforming as much as he is simply regressing to the mean. That being said he's not coming out of my line-up or getting traded unless he gets hurt for the season. You can't lead the league every year.

This is all I'm worried about. He's been solid but unspectacular save for one game where he went off for 44. These two games are at home and against teams that can be run all day long on. I'll take. But I have the luxury of having a spot locked up to play week 15 and God willing, week 16.

Philip Rivers + Norv Turner = LT Killer!!

I am an LT owner (have been since '04) and have the package and have watched several games. What I noticed is :

1)their Defense isn't as good as it was in '06 maybe even '05 so LT is spending more time on the bench than in the past.

2)Rivers can't scramble like Brees so unless he gets time in the pocket;this guy is only a pocket passer.

3)Liked Cameron's/Marty play calling better

Under 20 pts in a PPR no less 7 out of 11 weeks is not what I call solid from the # 1 pick overall

Don't be a dipwad; Tomlinson is the #2 RB overall and has provided great value to the people who took him at #1.

I own the guy in a non PPR league. Still 2nd overall. I'm OK with that. Oh, and I didn't draft him (Dynasty) but I did trade Addai and two first rounders for him. So I paid through the nose for him, but he's been solid every week. I think he has been double digits in every single week except a 5 in week 2 and a 9 later on. I lost week 2. I haven't lost since...

My concern with LT hasn't been the lack of production - by and large he's been fine - better than most top backs, as has been pointed out.

I don't much liek the way Norv uses him late in the games - especially when they should be burning time off the clock. He hasn't seemed to get enough carries in those situations, and that's where some of his points have gone.

It's a minor concern, but still.

I've been listening to LT owners complain all year long about how he does not touch the ball enough. Do you guys realize he has the most touches in the NFL (263 or 22 per game)? He just isn't scoring on those touches the same way he has in the past.

Exactly, you read the papers or listen to the radio here and people act as if LT is just some kind of after thought in Norvos offense. LT gets lots of touches, he just isn't scoring 30 TDs this season, and that should have been expected. Something in the range of 18 is still doable, and that should have been the expectations for realistic people.

I'd also add that LT has not busted, unless you paid through the nose to move up and draft him or acquire him in dynasty leagues. He is RB #2 right now. Sure, he very well should be lower thanks to injuries to Addai and Peterson, but that is where he ranks. What is really impacting his (as well as all RBs) FF impact is the astounding year 3 QBs and 2 WRs are having.

The holes just haven't been there this year to an extent I can't remember since probably his first or second season. Way more 2, 1, and 0 yard gains on 1st down carries this season than I can ever remember. The line hasn't played very well and playcalling has had Neal out of the game more often than the last few years.

Regardless, anyone expecting 2006 numbers was off to begin with. He's still having a good season.

Agreed again, this year the QBs and WRs are having big years. Some offenses have gone to the spread, and made the running game less impactful. That's the breaks. But LT Owners have nothing to complain about, he is still putting up good numbers and if things break your way in the last few weeks, he could have a big finish against some sub par defenses and teams the Bolts face on their way to the playoffs (<-- fingers crossed).

In LT's defense, that game was over before it started. He had 140 total yds in three quarters of play. I'll take that ratio from him anyday.

as an LT owner I watch all his game, ST on DTV. To me the O line sucks at run blocking. LT is always getting hit in the backfield. He just cannot get to the second level of the DEF.

I've owned LT in my two main leagues since he came into the league.

Last year was the perfect storm. The o-line was great, Marty had figured it out, Rivers was as good as he needed to be, and he had a record in his sights so they kept feeding him. You had to expect a dropoff this year, and you're seeing it. It's probably been a little worse than I'd projected, but I'm still relatively happy with the guy.

Especially in a year where so many other first round RBs have been landmines, having a minor disappointment in your lineup each week doesn't seem so bad.

This is where playing in a number of different leagues may help offer some perspective.

If you're in only one league and Tomlinson was your first-round pick, you might think that you're concerned about him.

If you're in twelve different leagues and have twelve different first-round picks, you'd probably say that LT is one of only three that you're not concerned about. (Westbrook and Addai being the others.)

No worries here. Started him every week with confidence and he's rewarded me as a Top 3 RB in my league.

:lmao: Has there ever been a thread where owners of a player are "concerned" about a player's "stat's being killed"....... when that player was currently the #2 scoring RB? Wow.

I've seen him play one game this year. He has amazing speed and cuts like no one else. The offensive line was predicted to be one of the top 5 this year. They are dreadful to say the least.

Ninety percent of life is just showing up.

Dude comes to work every Sunday, NEVER fumbles, and posted double digits 9/11 weeks. 11 TDs, 3 weeks over 150 total yards - and this is an off year.

No complaints, especially when I think about the other number one picks in our draft, and the comments we had after their selections:

Round 1

1. LaDainian Tomlinson - No brainer

2. Steven Jackson - Gonna be huge

3. Larry Johnson - Lot of mileage, but how can you not take him?

4. Frank Gore - Beast

5. Shaun Alexander - Should come back strong

6. Joseph Addai - No brainer

7. Willie Parker - The Stillers #1 RB is always a great pick...

8. Travis Henry - The Broncos #1 RB is always a great pick...

9. Peyton Manning - Rookie! Never draft a QB #1

10. Reggie Bush - Umm...you do realize this is not a PPR?

11. Tom Brady - Stupid friggin homer! You're gonna get buried by that pick!

12. Brian Westbrook/13. Donovan McNabb - Stupid friggin homer! You're gonna get buried by that pick!

Nope.

No concern whatsoever.

I've locked up a playoff berth and LT has DEN then OAK in our 2 week playoff. He'll go off in each of those games.
