yea, wtf, no franchise mode? that was the only reason i played it...i don't play online because i always get the crap beat out of meI think we need a new NFL Blitz please? lol Madden 13 is alright, but where is my franchise mode?
Wtf? Seriously, there is no franchise mode. Consider this game off my list. What a FAIL!yea, wtf, no franchise mode? that was the only reason i played it...i don't play online because i always get the crap beat out of meI think we need a new NFL Blitz please? lol Madden 13 is alright, but where is my franchise mode?
There is a franchise mode, its called Connected Careers, play as a coach. The limitations in place are: no fantasy draft, no editing, only control one team at a time (there is a workaround for this), and no co-op franchise on the same console. Other than that, Connected Careers mode is better than franchise ever was, with evolving player storylines of players you scout throughout the year, a realistic news/twitter feed, improved progression (now in the form of xp for the individual coaches and players, which can be assigned by the user or left to the CPU to simulate), scheme-specific overall ratings that are different from team to team, etc.Its not perfect, but its the best franchise mode there's been in a Madden game since at least '07, with lots of stuff reminiscent of NFL Head Coach '09 (in addition to what I think is the best-ever on-field gameplay) and if the features left out are very important to you, most of them will be back next year as they build on the new mode and bring back the fan-favorite things: fantasy draft, 32-team control, editing, etc.Wtf? A new NFL Blitz actually came out about a year ago. Or are you just talking about an updated one?I think we need a new NFL Blitz please? lol Madden 13 is alright, but where is my franchise mode?
It's about time. I gave up on Madden when it was clear they were going to make you play idiotic mini-games, that half the time didn't even level up the right stat. You might do an offensive line drill, but if you actually watched your stat numbers before and after, it might be your receiving that went up. It was idiotic. All I've ever wanted was for Madden to have player progression that reflected how you did. A football version of something like the old Baseball Stars game, where you earned points based on what you did in a game, and could then choose what aspects of whichever player you wanted to level up.In Connected Careers, players will have the option of controlling individual football players or coaches, the latter being more akin to the standard "call all the plays, use all the players" game of Madden. The mode can be played alone or in a league of 32 players, clearing away any distinctions between online and offline franchise modes we've been accustomed to.
Connected Careers' role-playing elements boil down to goal-based gameplay and "level-up-style" player progression. Looman explained that players can achieve weekly, season, and career milestone goals, such as rushing for over 1,000 yards in a season with a running back. By reaching these goals, players will earn experience points, which can be used to purchase skill and ability upgrades.

so they included the replacement refs? coolIt's the first one I've picked up since Madden 10. Loaded up a Seahawks game and it still has Flynn as the starter and T.O. at wide out. It's pretty, but the tackles look terribly glitchy with bad physics. The one time I challenged a call I lost but they rambled on and on about how I won the challenge and how great the coach was to challenge it. Using the Kinect to call audibles is nice... but weird. My wife in the other room is all WTF are you doing??
So... nothing great, hopefully rosters will be straightened out after week one.
Stick with Madden 10 or 12 then. Madden 13 does not have a fantasty draft feature this year. It will return for Madden 14.I'm getting mixed signals.
You're telling me that I can NOT do a fantasy draft? So a friend and I can't sit down, do a draft and start our teams from scratch, and then play those teams against each other?
That is ridiculous. One of the most fun parts of the game and it wouldn't have been hard to include at all.
If that's the case, I'm reversing my stance and absolutely NOT buying this game. Please tell me it isn't so...
Its a gorillian times better than Collinsworth.I just picked it up, very cool so far. Jim and Phil don't shut up. Brady looks like he gained 50 lbs in the game.
You haven't been playing Madden very long eh?Has anyone bought/played Madden 13 yet? Is it worth buying? I usually get the itch to buy it around this time every year and more often than not I'm disappointed. It's usually the same game with updated rosters...anyone have a review?
