Just heard on Sirius that Malcolm Kelly ran on a fast track in front of two NFL teams (Giants and Pack) and ripped it up with a 4.65. Kid obviously got bad advice to run again or just is stubborn.
Just heard he will be running AGAIN, this time on the moving walkway inside DFW airport.
The way things are turning south for him, he will end up running against the walkway and blame officials at the airport.Just heard he will be running AGAIN, this time on the moving walkway inside DFW airport.

I'm sorry, but this is not accurate. I just heard Kiper say Kelly will be running again next Tuesday for a handful of scouts and assistant coaches. Apparently the slow times were not just the result of a faulty surface, but also a pair of faulty shoes. That's what Kelly's trainer says. He also says they bought Malcolm some new custom-made shoes to improve his times. These rollerskates will be tied to a pair of drag racers, which will pull Malcolm along a 40 yard track at high speeds, ensuring a fast time.Just heard he will be running AGAIN, this time on the moving walkway inside DFW airport.
And he will still clock a 4.6 or worse............Just heard he will be running AGAIN, this time on the moving walkway inside DFW airport.
I would gladly welcome M.Kelly to the Buffalo Bills in the 2nd round and be estatic if he falls to us.Malcolm Kelly: welcome to the mid-second round!
Now that isthe latest is kelly's agent is citing zeno's paradox, the mathematical proof of the impossibility of motion...his time is no better or worse than any other WR in the draft class, as the nature of movement is illusory & a creation of the mind...
I did not follow the guy that closely, but I thought after the Bowl games he was pretty much a first round lock. If he just hid in a closet for 90 days, he would have at least gone 2nd round...Kelly will NOT get drafted on the first day, half the teams probably won't even draft him no matter how far he falls.I didn't think his game would translate to the NFL even before this cluster#### of an offseason for him, but now i'm almost certain of it.
Look, the guy's a football player. Plain and simple. Forget 40 times and other garbage like that. Just watch him on film. He does not drop the ball when it is thrown anywhere near him.I did not follow the guy that closely, but I thought after the Bowl games he was pretty much a first round lock. If he falls to you it will ironically be the fastest he's moved in any direction.I would gladly welcome M.Kelly to the Buffalo Bills in the 2nd round and be estatic if he falls to us.Malcolm Kelly: welcome to the mid-second round!

I wouldn't. I know that it would be frustrating to run a slow time when so much rides on it, but the guy has been a whiner and complete malcontent about it. No way do I want that type of attitude. I seriously doubt that Buffalo does either.I would gladly welcome M.Kelly to the Buffalo Bills in the 2nd round and be estatic if he falls to us.Malcolm Kelly: welcome to the mid-second round!

Dwayne JarrettDallas BakerMike WilliamsBilly McMullenMarquis WalkerI'll take "Guys who dominated in college but just didn't have the speed/quicks to make it in the big leagues" for $1000 Alex. Some of those guys had some pretty good hands too.Sometimes, people overestimate the importance of speed (especially timed 40 speed) for an NFL WR. Unfortunately, this leads some people to believe that it doesn't matter at all. You don't have to having BLAZING speed to be successful, but you have to be fast enough to get respect or quick enough to get open without the respect. If you don't have either, it's tough to get looks from your QB.If you look at the list of top receivers over the past couple of years, you will be hard pressed to find a player without at least decent speed. Most of the elite receivers have elite speed. It isn't a coincidence.Look, the guy's a football player. Plain and simple. Forget 40 times and other garbage like that. Just watch him on film. I haven't heard one charecter flaw about the guy since he wasn't happy with his 40 time. And for all we know, the complaining could have a lot to do with his agent. In fact, with the exception of his poor 40 time, I haven't seen one flaw in his entire game, charecter included.I wouldn't. I wouldn't rule Kelly out entirely as a possible draftee of the Bills, but the more you hear from him, the more he reminds of you of Eric Moulds... who did not leave Buffalo on good terms.

Kelly gets 2nd chance to work out
The Associated Press
Wednesday, April 16, 2008
OKLAHOMA CITY: A week after loudly complaining about the surface he was forced to run on in front of NFL scouts, former Oklahoma receiver Malcolm Kelly got his second chance Wednesday.
His agent said he bettered his time in the 40-yard dash by more than two-tenths of a second in the workout at the University of Oklahoma. But a news release from OU with numbers compiled from NFL scouts indicated the improvement was only slight.
His agent, Chad Speck, said Kelly ran the 40 as fast as 4.46 Wednesday after running a 4.68 on OU's pro day one week ago. But the numbers from the NFL scouts showed Kelly ran the 40 in 4.69 and 4.63, according to a release from OU spokesman Kenny Mossman.
Speck said the scouts may have added time to his results to reflect the faster surface he was on Wednesday.
"There's nothing that we can do about, if a team decides to adjust it," Speck said.
"He ran much faster today."
Kelly complained after the workout last week that he had expected to run on the AstroTurf inside Oklahoma's indoor track facility, but was forced instead to run on a softer surface, resulting in the slower time. He has since apologized and thanked OU for setting up the latest workout.
Kelly said the workout went well.
"Like I said, last week I made a lot of immature decisions going off like that," who complained that the slow time would cost him money, a red flag for NFL teams.
He said he spoke with OU coach Bob Stoops for more than an hour and there are no hard feelings.
"He told me I never game him any trouble. He just said there's no bad blood between us."
Speck dismissed speculation that Kelly's outburst about the first workout would cause his draft stock to fall. Kelly left after the workout for Washington, D.C., to meet with the Washington Redskins, followed by a meeting Thursday with the Dallas Cowboys, then with the San Francisco 49ers Friday.
I don't think he plays faster than that time. At least not much faster than it. Still, speed is not his game or what makes him a good WR. He will drop way too far because of this time. This is a classic case of letting a 40 time dictate opinion. He plays much faster than he times, has superb hands, & there's not a whole lot to suggest he won't be a good teammate. I have two late 1st round picks (12 & 14) in one of my dynasty leagues & won't hesitate to pull the trigger with either pick regardless of his draft status.
Apparently, Lynch's background was heavily researched prior to the draft and they came away feeling that there was nothing of substance. (IIRC, most of it centered around his high school friends from a rough part of Oakland.) Thus far, Lynch has had zero character issues while in Buffalo... everyone seems to love the guy.Didn't stop them from drafting LynchI wouldn't. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kelly going anywhere from the last 1st round to mid 2nd. Arizona might be a very good fit for him considering they just lost Bryant Johnson. After his "conciliatory" remarks today, I won't rule the Bills taking him in the 2nd round as they may forgo taking a WR in the 1st round with the eleventh pick. But given the multiple slow 40 times and the questions over his knee, I don't see how he goes before Devin Thomas or DeSean Jackson.Arizona has had good luck with WR's in the second. Someone will take a shot in the mid to late second, I would think.

While Kelly’s times and results were not that much different from his first attempts last week, his attitude was. After the event concluded he seemed optimistic and upbeat about the whole ordeal.
The only issue Lynch ever had was an old ex-girlfriend trying to extort money from him; he did nothing wrong in that case and it was thrown out of court. Other than that, the worst you could say about the guy was that he drove a golf cart around the field after the Washington OT win.Apparently, Lynch's background was heavily researched prior to the draft and they came away feeling that there was nothing of substance. That's harsh...but funnyDwayne Jarrett v2.0
This could be spot on. He injured his thigh in his bowl game. He had significant down time recovering. Maybe the sub 4.5 speed reported by OU last Spring is dormant at the wrong time. I have no idea how to rank Kelly. In addition to running slow and complaining about Oklahoma University afterwards, Malcolm Kelly reportedly showed up to his Pro Day overweight.
Kelly was listed at 6'4/219 as a Sooner, but weighed 227 at both the OU Pro Day and his private workout Wednesday. Because it's a faster track, his mid-4.6 on Astroturf may have been even worse than his high 4.6 on FieldTurf.
that would be a much better pick than reaching on devin thomas in the 1st.kelly and evans would be a nice combo.I would gladly welcome M.Kelly to the Buffalo Bills in the 2nd round and be estatic if he falls to us.Malcolm Kelly: welcome to the mid-second round!
I actually think that's a compliment to Kelly.Jarrett was a far better college wideout. His game, like Kellys, just doesn't translate well to the NFL.I'd use Mike Williams as a better comparison, but Jarrett is a good comparison as well.Ketamine Dreams said:That's harsh...but funnyDwayne Jarrett v2.0
