Malcom in the Middle is better than Breaking Bad (1 Viewer)

Malcolm in the Middle is AWESOME.

But it's like comparing some of the best I've cream to the best steak.

 
I know some people thought it was too white or just aren't into a whole thing about drugs, but how can't this be Cranston's finest work? That performance is so spot on, I swear my head hurts after and I need some drugs just to get right.

 
I agree. I think other shows that are waaaay better than Breaking Bad:

Barney and Friends

Real Housewives of Billings

Cavemen

Best way to put it is this:

Breaking Bad is arguably the best TV drama ever, and at worst, is in the top tier of best TV dramas ever.

Malcolm in the Middle was funny, but is not only not the funniest TV comedy ever, it's not even in the 2nd tier, much less the top one.

 
This is good fish bait because the older brother in MiM played one of the guys in Uncle Jack's gang.

Not my opinion at all...I can watch Malcolm in the Middle any day of the week...and crack up endlessly.

I'm so tired of Seinfeld and most of the other "top" comedies. Never liked Cheers. Name five comedies that are better than Malcolm.

 
Malcolm in the Middle always looked like that specific brand of "white trash sitcoms" from the promos.

Does Breaking Bad get a lot better after the first season? I stuck with the first season due to all the love it gets, but was pretty disappointed. When every single character in the show is an ####### it sure makes the show unenjoyable to watch anyway.

I can definitely name 6, but I probably couldn't name too many more. MitM is great.

It's weird...I remember thinking Roseanne was an OK show back when it was on...but everytime I've ever seen any rerun...it's AWFUL. Not remotely funny or clever.

Taxi was decent...but really only because of Devito and Jim. I couldn't stand any of the other characters.

Sunny is OK...just a little too dumb for me at times.

Never really got the appeal of Night Court...

Curb is fantastic...definitely deserves Top Five status.

I realize I'm alone, but I love Malcolm...maybe because I had kids during it's run...just seemed to hit on so many points for me...

Definitely accept Office...

Parks & Rec is cool...but just outside of the top five for me...

Arrested is definitely funny...it's in the conversation.

Happy Endings was always pretty good...some of the characters became caricatures of themselves but still pretty funny...but outside top five for me.

Seinfeld is definitely solid...but just wore on me after a while...I think I just have a problem with Jerry or something...just too whiny...never liked his standup either...

I'm not even necessarily a big fan of any of those shows, they are just better than Malcom. Maybe I am biased because I think Frankie Muniz is 2nd only to Elijah Wood as the most annoying actor on the planter. Actually, in Malcom, the parents were the only non annoying characters. All the kids were painful to watch.

 
Fraiser and Cheers were also both better shows, IMO.

Frasier could be the best spin-off of all time.

What about the Honeymooners? I Love Lucy? Get Smart? Bewitched?

 
Frasier was definitely worthy. Just never understood why Cheers was so highly touted. I try again lately and just can't make it through an episode. I just cannot stand Ted Danson, I guess. Never understood how anyone could be attracted to Dianne.

Honeymooners is definitely an alltime classic...so was Lucy...hard to knock those.

Get Smart was fun and definitely great for when I was a kid...but hard to watch now.

Bewitched was another favorite as a kid...I could still watch it...but very few bust out laughing moments.

Malcolm though...every episode seems to have a moment that makes me bust up.

 
Hard to compare the two, I enjoyed both but as a college student now I was younger back then. Never thought of MITM as a show most adults would enjoy.
