Mandela Effect (1 Viewer)

Anyone believe in any of these? I'll admit the whole Fruit of the Looms not ever having a cornucopia or the Monopoly man never having a monocle has me thinking but this latest one is driving me absolutely bananas. There are hundreds if not thousands of vids online of people insisting Thanksgiving is, and always has been the 3rd Thursday of the month. They are claiming a timeline shift instead of not being able to understand how a calendar works or they are just terrible in math. Anyways anyone buy these Mandela effects?

don’t know what mandela effect is, but i always thought t day was the last thursday, then changed to the third thursday and then changed to the fourth thursday. seems like a fact i remember from somewhere. that and the flat earth thing.

It was the peanut guy with the monocle, the monopoly man never had it.

The biggest one I swore was that at the end of the movie Big, the woman he dated shows up in his class as a new student having wished herself young again.

Never happened and there are some online posts about it.

It's a very common misconception about something. The namesake belief was that Nelson Mandela had died much earlier than he actually did (phenomenon was named while he was still alive).

Don't go down that rabbit hole. People think because they thought it was Flinstones and not the Flintstone's they've jumped into a new timeline. Hundreds of examples like this with the latest one being this Thanksgiving 3rd Thursday one. If you want a good laugh hop on Tik Tok, Reddit, etc and reading some of these posts.

I swear to God when I saw Star Trek: Generations opening weekend, there was a scene in the movie that wasn't in the film when I saw it a few weeks later in a second-run house. There's even a line of dialogue in the film referencing the missing part. I think one of my friends who saw it with me opening weekend remembered it as well and was also confused as to why the part we're sure we saw wasn't there the second time.

It always bugged me. Years later, I met the director of the movie and asked him about it. He assured me, it never happened.

but a flint stone, or flintstone, is an actual thing used to start fires, hence the caveman vibe. a flinstone is nothing. why would it have ever been that? GD, people are stupid.

The actor 'Sinbad' starred in a movie about the super hero "Shazam".

He didn't, but I swear he did.

Remember that luggage commercial with the gorilla jumping on the suitcase? What was the brand again?
samsonite or now samsnite

Ask 20 people and 19 will say Samsonite. The answer is American Tourister. Mandela effect or worst ad campaign in history?

I think this is only because you ask 20 people to name any luggage type other than Samsonite and 19 wouldn't be able to. So, bad ad campaign.

Maybe because the Milwaukee zoo had a gorilla named Samson

There was a movie where something like that happened, but it wasn’t Big. Can’t remember the details but it may have even been an episode of Amazing Stories.

ETA: figured it out. 1988 TV movie “14 Going On 30” kid takes a growth serum and becomes 30 and dates a teacher. End of the movie he is 14 again and the teacher takes a serum to get young and shows up in class as a 14 year old too.

Yeah, I found that during my frantic online search.

I’m not sure if anybody else has watched “How to John Wilson” on HBO Max, but he had a pretty good episode on the Mandela effect.
