Manning in NE (1 Viewer)

Huge game for the Colts this weekendManning always suxors in Boston and I am guessing the critics on this board and in the media will be in full forceDoes Indy stay undefeated ???

Indy wins this week in NE. This is a different Indy team, and a different NE defense. Indy has shown a commitment to the run they have not shown in the past. NE has shown they can be run on. I think Manning using play action pass, not 14 different play calls at the line will be a difference maker in his TD/INT ratio this week. God knows the Pats have made him look mortal even when he was lighting up the rest of the league. Then again I had $50.00 on Tampa yesterday, so I'm no friggin Swami.

The NFL and their Manning bias is an absolute joke. They will do anything to try to help Peyton beat NE. If anyone thinks it is just a coincidence that Indy's bye week happens to fall the week before they play NE they are lost. Hopefully NE will still beat them.

Are you kidding me? The love that is given Brady is worse than what is given to Favre, well almost. In other words, NE has been more the NFL darlings than the Colts (see non calls 2 years ago in NE).

They changed the rules (in spirit of they are called and written) the season after that game to help the Colts after they whined when they lost. And what happened....they still lost. If you don't think the league is dying for the Mannings to succeed then you are just not paying attention.

That's a bad way to help the Colts if that is the case because the Colts have played poorly after bye weeks in recent years.

And Area 51 houses a ton of alien carcasses, right?Come on. The league loves the Patriots.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: There's a joke in that post allright.... :loco:

The NFL gave the Colts a bye the week before they played the Pats - but also gave the Pats home field advantage. I'm not seeing a conspiracy here. In fact, I think the NFL wants the Colts to have to win in Foxboro to get to the Superbowl - it makes for a great storyline.

The NFL had control of the order which teams played certain teams, but not where the games are and the opponents - that was pre-determined (I'm sure you know that - I'm just repeating the fact). However, we don't know what kind other factors there are to determine the order of games and the bye weeks for each team - there are probably factors we are not even thinking about.

All signs point to Indy overcoming the Pats in Foxborough. I think Dillon may be hurt worse than I thought. Pass better be hurt bad after the way he coughed up the ball last night. At least a serious injury would mitigate the offense a little. This defense is in a world of hurt. Without Seymour in there, any team will run over them like a locomotive. Hard to imagine but their secondary is in worse shape than ever. Troy Brown would be a better DB than Duane Starks. Freeman might be OK, but he's only been with the team 2 weeks and it shows badly. Eugene Wilson made a little noise last night for the first time in a while -- he's having a very disappointing season overall. Discipline as regards to penalties is a big problem this year. A big sign for concern. They aren't creating turnovers, another worrisome problem.Bruschi's presence was stabilizing for the D last night be he can't do it all and he's not fully up to game speed yet himself. My voodoo hex is this...the Colts finally overcome the Pats at Gillette and feel they've broken the 'curse'...only to lose the AFC to the Broncos. :P

I dont know about a bias with the NFL, but there is a definite, sick bias with the media and the Mannings. Its getting nauseating

Boys, this one will be a laugher! If the Colts lose, I will change my sig to read that I love the pats, Brady, Bruschi, and that the Colts are destined to be mired in the shadows of the awesome Patriots for as long as I live. Now, when the Colts cover my spread, I would ask that Warsteinner, post something similar for Manning and the Colts in his sig. Most of the other loud mouth Pats fans have cooled their jets this season since the pats suck, but, Warboy keeps on.Prediction:Colts 34Pats 17

I think the media likes promoting top and/or promising QBs. So, I think saying it is just about the Mannings is not accurate - it is also about Vick, Favre, Brady, Big Ben, Carson Palmer, McNabb, etc.

:lmao: You want me to post something like that in my sig if a team that will be favored wins a game? A game against a team that is not even "my team?" I'll save the sig bet for the annual playoff choke.

You're thinking the same thing I am then. Manning puts together another nice season and shats down his leg come playoff time. The only way he even sniff a SB ring is Bledsoe style. How do Indy fans feel about Sorgi anyways?

All throughout ESPN's pregame yesterday, they kept promoting a segment entitled "Why Eli is the guy to have in the 4th qtr". Enough, he had 1 big comeback win. Lets talk about how Eli hasnt won a road game yet

ESPN is a hype machine. And it is certainly not limited to the Mannings.

Truth hurts doesn't it?Your hero is nothing more than a regular season stat whore and you can't deal with it. Look at his record in the big time. Could never beat his arch rival in college and consistently plays like "dog" as he would put it in the playoffs.

What is the biggest game he has ever won in his career, college or pro? I have now asked this question 50 times on this board and no one has ever removed their lips from Peyton's ### to even attempt to answer it. What ever win you come up with though, I'll come up with at least a dozen losses that were much bigger. :)

I was at the game last night, and I can tell you who IS looking forward to next Monday night is Reggie Wayne.Starks better come up some divine intervention this week....

Nice attempt to once again avoid the question. To answer yours though, please provide a link to where claimed I was bringing any such value. 99.9% of my posts are nothing but smartassed replies. I reserve the other 00.1% to speaking the truth about a certain QB that will end his career with the same amount of SB rings as the Ryan Leaf. :excited:

This rivalry reminds me of the mid 90's rivalry between Dallas and Green Bay. For years, the Packers could not beat Dallas no matter what. Heck, even in '96 when they won it all, they still lost at Dallas (at 21-6 Monday nighter). So, while winning next week's game would be huge for the Colts, I do not think it is a game they HAVE to win. Many are saying that they need to win this game or else they are still not ready to be a champion. I disagree.

History and trends speak for itself .... The Patroits own the Colts ..... outright!Despite the states, the records, who is hurt and who is not .... the Pats take the Colts down!

Look at Fat Phil and UT this year...Spurrier beat them even with a mediocre team. I think some of those Florida loses can be blamed on Spurrier being a much better coach than Fat Phil... Winning at KC in the playoffs was a huge win i think.. Manning was great on the day and had to be because the the Colts defense couldn't stop the Chiefs. Also, ask Denver fans how they feel about Manning's big game ability. He's played poorly against the Pats in the playoffs I'll give you that...but so has the rest of the Colts' team and the rest of the league.

In 1999, Peyton threw for 227 and had 1 rushing td with no turnovers. Brady has won several playoff games with similiar stats. In 200 when the Colts lost to the Dolphins (after Vanderjact missed a GW fg in regulation) Peyton was 17-32 194 yds and 1td with 0 ints qb rating of 82. He hardly played poorly.. Look at Brady's stats. He has had similiar numbers in many of his postseason wins. In last year's playoff loss Peyton had a qb rating of about 70 and completed 64 percent of his passes for 238 0tds and 1int.. Again, Brady has won several playoff games with similiar numbers.

He hasn't played poorly just against the Pats. 41-0 vs the Jets ring a bell? The so called greatest QB of all-time can't even manage to put his team on the scoreboard. Lost to the Titans at HOME in 99, and all the Colts need is a home playoff game. Lost in OT to the Dolphins in 2000, Manning came up clutch there huh? Its not just one team or one coach, Manning just doesn't have the mental makeup to consistently come up in the clutch and that will prevent him from ever winning a championship. To JohnnyUnitas, I didn't put Dan Marino because Manning isn't even in his league. Marino lost several playoff games that were high scoring shootouts and the blame could be placed solely on his defense. Manning however manages to lose playoff games while putting numbers up like 0, 3, 14, 13 etc.

In addition. I am so confident that Manning will find a way to choke once again this year, I will take it one step further. Rather than come up with some sort of witty line such as, I love Peyton Manning to put in my sig  if he wins a regular season game lets make it interesting. If Peyton Manning wins the Super Bowl :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: , wow those words just look funny when put together. Anyways, I will take the best slogan a Colts fan can come up with, Magic Marker that slogan on my bare ###, take a picture of it and post it here on the board, another FF board if its not allowed here, pm it to everyone, whatever. MARK IT DOWN NOW!!!!COLTS FANS ARE CRYING AGAIN IN JANUARY.

What is the biggest game he has ever won in his career, college or pro? I have now asked this question 50 times on this board and no one has ever removed their lips from Peyton's ### to even attempt to answer it. What ever win you come up with though, I'll come up with at least a dozen losses that were much bigger. :)

The difference is this....Yes Brady will sit back and manage the game if his D is playing well. However, if his defense falters(see any of the super bowl wins for example), then Brady goes from game manager to great passer and he goes out and wins the game.

Peyton on the other hand, was never trying to be a "game manager" and let his defense win(he might be doing that some this year, but never before), so his poor stats and actually worse than when Brady put up similar stats.

Brady always did enough to win the games, and he could always open it up and do more if needed to.

I guess when Eddie George and Lamar Smith ran for 200 yds, that was Manning's fault  I guess when the liquored up kicker missed a game winner, that was also Manning's fault. :loco: There have been plenty of great QB's who didn't win a Super Bowl, and I don't think Peyton will be one of them, but if he is, he's still a great QB. I guess you think because Dilfer, Rypien, D Williams, and even Jim McMahon are great QB's because they won a Super Bowl?

Boys, this one will be a laugher! If the Colts lose, I will change my sig to read that I love the pats, Brady, Bruschi, and that the Colts are destined to be mired in the shadows of the awesome Patriots for as long as I live.

Now, when the Colts cover my spread, I would ask that Warsteinner, post something similar for Manning and the Colts in his sig.

Most of the other loud mouth Pats fans have cooled their jets this season since the pats suck, but, Warboy keeps on.

Prediction:

Colts 34

Pats 17
:lmao: You want me to post something like that in my sig if a team that will be favored wins a game? A game against a team that is not even "my team?" I'll save the sig bet for the annual playoff choke.
That's what I thought!
You're thinking the same thing I am then. Manning puts together another nice season and shats down his leg come playoff time. The only way he even sniff a SB ring is Bledsoe style. How do Indy fans feel about Sorgi anyways?
Warboy, read my sig. Get it?

He hasn't played poorly just against the Pats. 41-0 vs the Jets ring a bell? The so called greatest QB of all-time can't even manage to put his team on the scoreboard. Lost to the Titans at HOME in 99, and all the Colts need is a home playoff game. Lost in OT to the Dolphins in 2000, Manning came up clutch there huh? Its not just one team or one coach, Manning just doesn't have the mental makeup to consistently come up in the clutch and that will prevent him from ever winning a championship. No, I never said those guys were great QBs because they have a ring. I'm bringing up the fact that Manning and his performances are the biggest reason the Colts have not gotten one. Another question, would those backs have racked up that yardage if Manning was able to keep his Def. off the field and put a few points up? Go back an look at all the times teams have ran over the Colts and you'll see the majority of it was in garbage time when the Colts were down and the other team was trying to eat clock.

No, the biggest reason the Colts haven't gotten one, is because of their defense. However, that is getting better, and Peyton is allowing the running game to win games, rather than forcing the issue. I think he has it figured out, and if the defense can keep up their end, the Colts have a real good shot at a title.

Look at the stats in the titans and dolphins games... Peyton had a td and 0 turnovers in each. how is that losing the game. Wasn't that the same titans def that held the Rams potent offense in check in the Super Bowl? Also, when a team has runningbacks going for 200+ in a game the other offense doesn't have many opportunities to have the ball.I just don't understand how the numbers listed above are a great performance from "one of the greatest qb's of all time" when Brady puts them up and his team wins in the playoffs, but they are considered choking when Peyton puts them up and his team loses?

Ring Envy? I remember a 0-2 Pats team back in 2001, having lost to the Bungles and colts, with a new QB in Tom Brady taking the reigns. I remember something like 41-17 for those Pats, over the 2-0, and looking invincible Colts.

I expect a close game in this one, with all the Pats troubles. And, they are many. But, they've overcome before, and I believe they will in this one.

NE 28

Indi 24

I've seen too many 4 pick games from Manning against NE defenses, even w/ Troy Brown, Randall Guy, and a guy named Hank Poteat they saw selling Jerseys in the parking lot manning the secondary. Until he puts a game together in NE, against a BB defense, I'll pick against him.

No the biggest reason is Manning. The defense might be a good argument if he didn't go out there last year and choke the game away vs. the Pats. If you break the single season TD record and your D goes out and puts forth a hell of an effort and you can't even get your team in the end zone once it is you, not everyone else around you. What will be the excuse this year? The defense excuse certainly can not be used for last year. He does not have the mental makeup to win the big one. He was frustrated and rattled very early in that game last year and it showed. When the leader of your team gets visibly frustrated and thrown off his game year after year he is not a good leader. Who was Tennessee's biggest rival when he was at Tennessee? Thats right it was Florida. How many times did he beat them?
