Anyone have a clue or a good guess how he will do playing next to a monster like Willis? Will he be more of the pass rusher and big play guy with a lot less tackles? Can 2 stud co-exist on that defense? Does he even have stud like potential?

Thanks in advance

He'll play the most favorable big play position in the defense, but, like all 3-4 OLB, will struggle to make 60 solos unless he hits double digit sacks. Even if he hits the 65-12 plateau, he'll only have LB1 value in big play scoring systems.Willis' presence will have little impact on Lawson, unless he becomes so dominant on first and second downs that he forces an unusual number of long passing downs. It's more likely that Willis could get a very small big play bump if Lawson can collapse the pocket into Willis' delayed pass rush. But that's pushing it.

Thanks for the input Jene. I would be OK with 65 and 12 personally, cause he will probably get some forced fumbles in there also. That is kind of how I thought he would be also or hope i guess...

If the Lance Briggs to San Fran rumors come to fruition what sort of impact does that have on their LB corps and their production?

Not sure. I suppose Briggs could play the SILB role, though that wouldn't be a great fit. He could potentially eat into some of Willis' tackles or nickel value, or it could mean that the Niners are considering a hybrid with some more 4-3 looks.

I could see this as well. Jared Allen has talking about wanting to come play in SF. Any chance we see it happen next year since KC will most likely tag him this year?

I don't know why Jared Allen wants to go play in a 3-4 scheme. He would struggle as a LB and kill his numbers as a 3-4 end. I can't see that happening unless Nolan is fired and the Niners go in another direction. And, unless Allen falls off tremendously, i think I'm using the tag on Allen every year until he signs a long term deal or he turns 32 -- he's in the prime of his career and one of the most scarce commodities in the league.

I wondered the same thing. I did read somewhere that if they tag him, he will said he would never sign a long term deal in KC. Just curious what you had heard on him too. Thanks Jene
