I admit it, I was a Bulger owner last year. In my Keep 3 league, I bought into the 5 good QB theory going last year (breaks my heart as a QBBC guy) and nabbed bulger in the first round (basically 4.5) after Palmer, Brady, ADP and Jacobs (not in that order...Brees and Manning were kept). I passed on the likes of Moss, Lynch and T.J, in thei first and my only salvation was netting Barber in the 2nd round. I usually learn from my mistakes, but also try to capitalize on them when possible. I think Bulger free falls this year and am wondering whether he falls into the QB 12-15 range for redrat. i would love to pair him up with a Delmomme as part of a QBBC on 'roids, but just want to guage the pool as to where they think he may go. Although Bruce is gone, a healhty line and S-Jax may enable him to put up numbers in the Top 6-8 range. What think ye?

I was huge on the Bulger bandwagon last year and it cost me big time.

I think their line is going to be much improved this year and expect top 5 QB numbers from Bulger once again.

Having said that, I learned my lesson on taking a QB early - no matter who he is - and will once again be waiting on taking a QB.

I agree...he absolutely killed me in that league. What is worse, as a QBBC guy, I thought I was getting a sure thing. So I waited until the biter end of the draft to grab Losman. I recovered by getting Garrard off WWs, but I was so gung-ho on Bulger that I did not begin starting Garrard until it was too late. I am curious to see whether he perceived value will fall into the area (QB12-14) where people in startdard leagues start acquiring their QBBC.

After Manning, Brady and Romo I think there's a huge cluster of hair-splitting QB's.

Brees, Palmer, Hasselbeck, Roethliberger, Bulger, McNabb, Delhomme, Anderson. You can make varying degrees of arguments that all of them have the ability to put up top 5 numbers. Personally I have Bulger right now at 11, behind most of the other names on that list. I'd be just fine with Delhomme and Bulger as my starters this year. But I'd be more content with trading one of them away and acquiring Brees or Palmer.

My guess is that he might be around QB8-QB10 off of the board... and I sort of think his production in 08 will probably be on par with that draft position. He seems to be somewhere in the group with Big Ben, Hasselbeck, Derek Anderson, and McNabb.

I probably won't take a QB until round 10-12, like last year when I got Roeth/Hass/Favre on the cheap in every league. Bulger/McNabb could be around the same area this year.

I think he'll be that guy you'll see people taking chances on as their QB1 after 10 are off the board, they'll back him up with a reliable QB2. I had a big swing and a miss with him last year, cost me big time. The combo of Bulger-Heap-Reggie Brown-Lee Evans were my 4th-7th round picks in my two leagues I bombed in, not surprisingly. Dead last in two leagues, top 4 in the rest. I am now a full believer that your league is won and lost in the middle rounds. Anyway, Bulger - the line's being addressed, SJax is healthy, but the WR corps isn't looking favorable. Marques Hagans is going to be a big time wildcard, if he takes the next step I think Bulger will be back to his QB1 ways. 06 may prove to be him at his best, but I think he can come close.

Top 5? Please explain a little. I don't like this situation. I have been looking at it closely because I have an opportunity to get Bulger on a team desperate for a QB. I still may do the deal, because it is a major need and not costing me much, but here's the problem. Holt has lingering knee issues that have me worried. Bruce is gone and Bennett did not look good last year. Pace can't stay healthy and the rest of that line is just okay when healthy. I don't think you fix it in the draft in one year. This team went 3-13 and has the 2nd overall pick for too many reasons for me to think a QB can be top 5 there next year. Pace coming off of a torn labrum cannot be relied upon. Barron at LT is a reach. The word degenerative has been tossed around Holt. I expect Trent Green to take snaps at some point. Bulger is a good QB, but he's getting killed and losing weapons.

Anyway, Bulger - the line's being addressed, SJax is healthy, but the WR corps isn't looking favorable. Marques Hagans is going to be a big time wildcard, if he takes the next step I think Bulger will be back to his QB1 ways.
I fully expect them to draft a WR in the first 3 rounds.

If I were a Ram fan I would hope they don't, the defense needs a lot more attention than the offense does. Select and develop a 4th or 5th round WR? Sure, but that defense is a joke and needs some major repairs now.

I'd feel a lot better about Bulger if they draft that Long kid at tackle, which they probably won't because the defense is a bigger area of need. But I like the prospects of the line if they do because then you have three prospects for 2 tackle positions and if all three are healthy then one of them can play guard.

From USA Today:
With the second pick in the draft, the Rams have to figure out how to get value from a player that will command a large amount of guaranteed money. With much debate revolving around players like DE Chris Long and OT Jake Long, the Rams wonder if they are true difference-makers worthy of being selected that high. They have spent a lot of time recently looking at Ohio State defensive end Vernon Gholston, and are intrigued by his off-the-chart athletic ability.
They need sacks and QB pressure more than anything else. I suspect it's one of the DEs. You cannot find a comparable DE later in the draft, yet OT runs pretty deep with interesting talent probably into the 3rd round, certainly the second. I also think they're pretty proud of signing 36 million dollar guard Jacob Bell away from the Titans.

All right. Top 5 is a little overzealous.1. Brady2. Manning3. Romo4. Brees5. Roethlisberger6. Palmer7+. CrapshootI think he fits in the 7-10 spot somewhere. Regardless of his knee's long term prognosis, I doubt it's going to implode this year. And I'm expecting their line to be much improved this year. It's hard to comprehend how decimated it was with injury last year. The interior at least will be much improved with Setterstrom and the newly signed Jacob Bell at guards and Incognito at center.

The Rams really need to upgrade their Oline. With Bulger, Id make it as simple as if they draft an Olineman (Long) early, Id think about him. If they dont, Im not touching the guy. Pretty cut and dry.

Tops on the priority list for any good FF manager is minimizing injury risk. Even if it comes to a QB2, but especially when it comes to a potential QB1.

as a fantasy player, I prefer them to leave a crappy defense on the field.......garbage yards and garbage scores for bulger.......

It depends on your league format.

For a Survivor type league, I downgrade Bulger. The odds on him playing 16 games compared to other Qb's is not as likely.

If you're in a smaller league where you don't have to worry as much in finding another QB on the wire and can risk trying to pick up a QB with a good matchup, Bulger is more appealing because he's the type of guy who will be ranked fairly high from week to week. When he's healthy, he is often ranked in the top 5 for that given week.

They already have in free agency.

In my 10 team league I try to make a point of picking a QB last but before others go for QB2. Bulger/Eli/Cutler/Garrard are looking the most likely candidates at this time.

We both paid a price at QB last season.... I took McNabb at the end of the QB run (4.12) The O-Line is a need and they made an upgrade there. DL needs help and the draft is likely the spot to rebuild that. There are several decent OL in this draft and the LB are decent too. Holt has a problem with his knees. He has been to a few doctors about it and it does not look like he has more than 3-4 more years of playing time left. It's been described as a tolerable discomfort, but still a downward trend. Bennett is a young high potential player who they brought in last year with the expectation of Bruce leaving. Bennett runs good routes and has good hands. He is a good Bruce replacement. He just needed to learn the offense. The year experience will go a long ways to show that. Bulger's value? Good question, but I see StL running more than Bulger reaching over 3500 yards. If he stays healthy and plays all 16 games. I put him about QB9. This is subject to change, but this is how I see them...1. P Manning2. Brady3. Romo4. Brees5. Palmer6. Roethlisberger6. Hasselbeck7. McNabb 8. E Manning9. Bulger10. Anderson11. Delhomme12. Cutler13. Schaub
